Work Text:
Wandering the halls of Moth was something Elysia had become accustomed too. She tended to have spare time when she wasn’t fighting or training, and with so many of her friends being busy, she always ended up by her lonesome self. She considered just leaving early but the thought of heading back to an empty apartment felt unfulfilling. With a smirk, her feet began to lead her towards Mobius station.
“Get out” we’re the first words to fill Elysias ears as she entered the room. “So soon?” she whined, pulling a puppy eyed face. Mobius grimaced as if in disgust before rolling her eyes. “What do you want?” she groaned. Elysia smiled fondly, making herself at home among all the strange gadgets and body parts that littered the floor.
She eventually sat down at a small table in the corner. “Mobius, I’m so bored~!” she sighed, moving her fingers along the desk in a walking pattern. Mobius grumbled something, which Elysia assumed was an insult, before turning away. “I can’t help you. Go bother someone else”. Elysia stared at the back of her head before lying down on her forehead.
Mobius held her place until a loud thud sounded behind her. “Elysia, I swear too god-“ she stopped her scentence upon seeing Elysias face. It had a contemplated look, as if she was thinking hard about her next words. “I don’t like that look” Mobius grumbled, dragging herself towards the desk and sitting opposite the elf. “Say Mobius, if you were to ask someone out, how would you?”.
Elysias face was filled with pure curiosity and innocence, something Mobius was not used to. “What” she said, stumped, “Are you serious?”. Elysia poited and raised a hand to her chin. “Yes” she announced, nodding slowly. “You’re asking me for… Love advice?” Mobius repeated. “Well~ I don’t know who to ask” Elysia whined, putting the puppy face on once more.
The puppy face always worked on Mobius, as she groaned loudly before raising a hand to her temple and rubbing it. “You flirt with everyone, making constant moves on others and yet-?” “But those are just jokes” Elysia cut in. “How do I ask someone out. For real”. Mobius thought slowly, taking in the information. If Elysia was coming to her for love advice that must mean. “You- You like someone?”.
Mobius cringed at her own choice of childish words. Elysias eyes widened and she opened her mouth slightly as if in shock. “I do?!” she gasped. Mobius deadpanned. “You came to me asking for advice yet you don’t know if you like someone?” she stated, grimacing at Elysia. In return, Elysia laughed awkwardly. “Sorry, I guess I don’t really understand romantic emotions well” she apologised. “But Mobius, how would I ask someone out?”.
“Eden~!” a voice called from behind the red-head. Eden turned to watch as Elysia sprinted to catch up, stopping just in front of her to take a breathe. “Ah Elysia, what’s wrong?” Eden asked gently, looking concerned and amused to see the elf’s red face. “Oh nothing” Elysia smiled, looking her straight in the eyes. Eden stared back, holding eye contact. Elysias eyes were truly pretty.
“Are you busy this weekend?” Elysia asked, snapping Eden from her daze. “Hm. I believe Blanca wanted me to watch Griseo on the Sunday, but other than that I’m free” she answered. Elysias eyes lit up and that playful smile Eden adored blinded her view. “Perfect! Then we’re going to see a movie!”. Eden raised an eyebrow, giving her a suspicious look. “Please Eden~” Elysia whined, putting on her best pleasing face. Eden sighed, her gaze softening.
Eden walked silently down the street, dodging between civilians as she strode towards the main entrance of the mall. Upon reaching the doors, she paused and reached for the phone in her bag. “Elysia, where are you” she muttered to herself, scrolling through the notifications. None of them were from the pink-haired girl and Eden groaned. They had agreed on 10am for their lunch date and she had yet to show up.
Checking the time once more, Eden slipped her phone back into the bag. 10:30am. She was about to give up hope but the feeling of two hands grabbing her shoulders stopped any thought. “Eden~ Guess who!” a sweet voice called. Eden sighed and turned to stare as Elysia laughed to herself. “You’re late” Eden ticked, putting her hands on her shoulders. Elysia waved her off, smiling and reaching for a limp hand.
Upon taking it, she began dragging Eden along through the busy mall. “Elysia calm down, you’ll bump into someone” Eden chuckled, watching the sway of her hair. “Yes, but I can’t help feeling so exhilarated! I’m going to see a movie with my dear Eden afterall” Elysia commented, guiding them between the masses of people. Eden felt a small blush form on her cheeks at the scentences but quickly returned to her amused face.
“Looks like we’ll make it on time” Elysia said, stopping as the two reached entry of the cinemas. Eden stared at the open area, watching as trailers played on small screens and children ran around. “What movie are we seeing anyway?” Eden asked, turning towards Elysia. However, the pink haired girl was no where to be seen. Edens heart skipped a beat and she turned frantically to stare around the cinema.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw a flash of pink past by. She spun around and locked eyes with Elysia, who had made her way towards the food section. Eden smiled, letting her nerves calm down again before heading over. Even on normal days, days where she pretended to be relaxed, she was always on alert incase of an attack. “Eden~ we must get some popcorn” Elysia grinned, grabbing for the largest box.
Eden shook her head but smiled fondly at the girls antics. That’s right, Elysia was in front of her. There was no honkai and nothing to worry about. “Let’s get some drinks and chocolate too” Eden grinned.
Maybe Eden shouldn’t of agreed to go see a movie she knew nothing about. She stared up at the large screen as the credits began rolling, a slow tune playing in the background. The movie itself wasn’t terrible, good recording, decent script and acting. It was the length. Three hours. At the half hour mark, the two had eaten all their food. “Woah! I didn’t expect that plot twist!” Elysia exclaimed, turning over towards Eden, excitement filling her face.
Scratch that. The look on Elysias face was worth it. “Yes, very intresting concept with the lover choosing to save his partner instead of himself, even after his partner so called ‘betrayed him’”. Elysia smiled and continued chattering as they exited the cinema “Hah” she sighed. “Y’know Eden, I’ve never been to the movies before”. Edens eyes filled with shock before settling backs “Really now? I guess we’ll have to go more than” she suggested.
“Agreed! But before we think about the future, let’s get some lunch” Elysia declared, grabbing Edens hand once more and holding it tightly. Instead of pulling Eden along like last time, they walked shoulder to shoulder. Eden made small glances down at their intertwined fingers, fighting a small blush from appearing over her cheeks. “What should we eat” she said instead, attempting to distract herself.
The situation felt oddly domestic. “I heard about this place that does really good Pizzas! There’s not many places that do those around here” Elysia suggested. Eden nodded, tugging at her hand encouragingly. “Guess we’re getting Pizza then”
By the time the two girls had finished their outing, the sun had began setting in the distance. The MOTHS hallways were silent, which was a usual occurrence. “I had a lot of fun” Eden said, stopping at Elysias door. She carried with her a shopping bag full of clothes Elysia had insistented she’d get. Her mind still hadn’t gotten over all of Elysias reactions to her trying on clothes. “Anything looks good on you my Dear Eden”. The elf paused before sighing exaggeratedly, “We need to go out again like that”.
Eden blushed faintly and nodded. “Yes, I agree. It was fun spending time with you” Elysia grinned, staring straight into her eyes once more. ‘So pretty’. It reminded Eden of an eternal abyss. But one filled with care and love instead of emptiness. “Goodnight Eden” Elysia smiled, leaning forward in the doorframe. Eden didn’t have time to register as Elysias lips planted on her own, pushing gently and nibbling the skin slightly. “I’ll see you at work~” Elysia mumbled as she pulled off, eyes not looking at Edens. “Yeah… Yeah” Eden repeated, watching as the door closed and her reflection shined on the black paint.
“Mobius I did it~~~!!!” -Elysia
“I don’t care” -Mobius.
A smirk still plagued Mobius face as she stared down at the message on her phone.
