Work Text:
Harvey had never cared much about the annual summer socials the firm had to put on, but he was also never mad at an opportunity to get dressed up.
He looked nothing short of impeccable in a tux, truly a gift to everyone who got to witness it; for tonight that meant a circle that was limited to everyone with an invite, because he didn’t feel like bringing a date.
Not that he ever expected to get tired of a hot woman by his side, but in the past couple of weeks, he did have less and less desire for a quick hook-up like that, for someone who couldn’t match his wits, someone who would only annoy him by the end of the night.
He didn’t plan on staying long anyway, so why bother bringing someone along for the short visit.
The event took place at Gotham Hall, a massive venue in Manhattan that the firm had rented out just for the occasion, and the grand hall was already filled with hundreds of people when Harvey arrived.
All the staff and most loyal clients were invited to the party, and no one turned down the opportunity for free drinks.
He nodded at some people he knew as he made his way through the crowd, snatching a glass of champagne from a tray as he did, until his eyes settled on someone he actually didn’t mind the company of; Donna was there, wearing a gorgeous floor-length black dress that accentuated her body in all the right places, her red hair pinned up in an updo. She looked ravishingly beautiful, as always.
Next to her was some tall guy with dark hair in an okay suit. Probably the new boyfriend she had mentioned. Well, has asked him not to be a dick to, more like.
Not that Harvey had ever been anything less than charming to any of her guys, temporary as they may have been.
He put on his best smile as he approached them.
“Wow, Donna. Just wow,” he said sincerely, and she grinned.
“I know,” she said like it was no big deal, but she stood a little straighter, a little prouder.
“Harvey, meet Jeff. Jeff, this is Harvey Specter”
The guy, Jeff, smiled friendly as he extended his hand.
Harvey needed to give him credit for how calm he remained; normally Donna’s boyfriends were intimidated, if not even jealous, but he faced him with easy confidence. Maybe he was a keeper.
“Hi. Nice to finally be able to put a face to the name”, Jeff said, shaking his hand firmly.
“Likewise,” Harvey said curtly.
“So, are you here with a date or…?”
“Hey, guys,” said a chipper voice behind them before Harvey could answer, and Mike appeared next to him with a smile.
He looked great in the tailored, dark blue suit, his hair styled back, like he truly fitted right in, as he had always meant to be part of this world. No one would ever suspect he was a fraud looking like this.
Only his wide eyes that excitedly marvelled at the nature of the event gave away that all of this was still very new to him.
It was cute, really. Like a lost puppy.
“Mike! You clean up well,” Donna remarked, smiling.
“I thought anything less and Harvey would have had kicked me out,” Mike joked.
“I’m still considering it,” Harvey gave back, and Mike glanced at him in cocky disbelief.
“Hey, this is from your tailor”
“I wasn’t talking about the suit. You look like a puppy that stumbled into a pet store for the first time”
“Shut up,” Mike said dryly, smiling a little. He probably tried to sound annoying but really just sounded amused.
“You look stunning, Donna. Like a queen,” Mike continued, shifting his focus to the couple in front of him.
“I knew I liked you for a reason,” she grinned, then turned to Jeff, “Mike, this is Jeff. Jeff, Mike”
Jeff shook his hand as well, looking back and forth between him and Harvey.
“Pleasure to meet you,” Mike said politely, and Jeff grinned.
“And you. So, you are the boyfriend...?”
Harvey nearly spat out his drink, trying hard not to choke on it.
He did not just hear that correctly. He couldn't have.
So Donna had told Jeff Harvey was gay. And dating Mike.
He revoked some of the credit he gave him earlier; he wasn’t intimidated purely because there would be zero competition. Not that there was, but still.
He glared at Donna, but there was a silent plea in her eyes that softened him up to the idea.
Mike looked confused for a second, glancing at him from the side, their eyes meeting in a short moment.
There was something mischievous in them, something amused, and suddenly, Mike started smiling. Harvey didn’t trust it for a second.
Mike though did not miss a beat as he hooked his arm under Harvey’s.
“Yes,” he declared, “not much point trying to hide it, right, honey?”
He drew out the honey a little, sounding entirely too pleased with himself.
Mike would have to pay for that one as well.
Harvey really should fire both of them for this in the morning. But first, he might as well have fun with it. If Mike was so happy to play along with it, who was he to back down from a chance to mess with him?
“Right,” Harvey agreed slowly, meeting Mike’s challenging eyes, “but we also don’t want to cause a scene”
Mike laughed.
“Yeah, not this time,” Mike picked up easily, turning to Jeff.
“This one time when we just got together, we went to this family gathering of mine, and turned out I had forgotten to come out to half of them. Well, not forgotten as much as I thought they would get the hint. They sure did when we made out on the dance floor, but it was quite the scene”
Harvey was almost impressed by how easy he lied, how easily he just told a completely made-up story.
He didn’t know Mike had it in him. Then again, he probably read it in a book somewhere and just retold the story.
But maybe they could have fun with this. And maybe he liked that idea a little too much.
“No way! What happened then?” Jeff asked intrigued, and Mike carried on like it just happened yesterday about how it caused a bit of a row between some relatives, but they all came around to it eventually.
Donna looked at him surprised, mouthing an I had no idea at him, and Harvey rolled his eyes.
Jeff listened animatedly as Mike carried on bullshitting his way through the story.
“I certainly can’t wait to hear more of it,” Jeff declared, “but first, drinks?”
“Oh yes. Gin and tonic,” Donna replied right away, and Jeff nodded.
“Can I get you two anything?”
“Whiskey,” Harvey said. He had a feeling he would definitely need it today.
“Sure. Anything specific?”
“Macallan 18,” Mike answered for him, “for both of us”
Harvey looked at him, slightly surprised, but he waited until Jeff was out of earshot before saying: “How the hell do you know that?”
“Because we have a very loving relationship?” Mike joked, but Harvey just kept staring at him dryly.
“Mike,” he disciplined, and Mike shrugged.
“I’ve been to your place. I’ve seen the collection.”
“And you memorized it?”
“Not intentionally! Eidetic memory, remember?”
It should have probably felt more intrusive than it did, knowing Mike had probably memorized his whole life at this point. He would have minded more if it was anyone else.
“I’ll deal with you later,” Harvey mumbled, and the way Mike looked at him amused, whispering an “Oh, will you now,” under his breath.
Harvey decided to ignore it and look at Donna instead.
He was somewhat aware that his arm was still linked with Mike’s.
“Explain,” he merely prompted.
“This is only partly my fault,” Donna said quickly.
“You told him Mike and I are dating?”
“No, I told him you were gay. You said you were coming without a date, so I thought there would be no harm done. I didn’t know you two would just start bickering like an old married couple and give him any ideas!”
“Which brings me back to you,” Harvey said, looking back at Mike.
“Hey, I was just playing along with it. Supportive friend and all that,” he defended himself quickly and Harvey sighed.
“Why did you lie?” he asked Donna again.
“Oh, you know. There’s always some dick comparison going on when I bring a guy. You get protective, they get intimidated, and it is just the battle of testosterone. Not exactly a fun way to spend the night”
“He will find out eventually”
“Just for tonight. Please?”
She looked between the two men, the most pleading as she would allow herself to be while maintaining her dignity.
“I’m in. You have done enough for me, I think I can spend a night annoying Harvey in return,” Mike said with a grin.
“What about everything I’ve done for you?”
“What, being with me isn’t enough of a thank you, honey?”
Harvey rolled his eyes, ignoring him again whilst focusing back on Donna.
The truth was the whole thing wasn’t exactly a terrible inconvenience to Harvey.
He had always sort of been aware that he wasn’t entirely straight; little stolen glances at men that affected him more than they should have, the odd sex dream that centered on men. Nothing big, nothing he couldn’t resist.
Not that he was actively trying to suppress it, he just didn’t exactly try to put himself in situations where any relationship could emerge. He didn’t have the time and he was definitely too old for any sexuality crisis.
Or so he thought.
It was different with Mike.
He had been on his mind a few times, and not always strictly work-related. Bantering with him was easy, they spent hours together every day, and if Harvey was honest, it was more than they strictly needed to do their jobs.
They certainly didn’t need to go to each other’s apartments for impromptu visits as they had started doing.
A sort of friendship and the occasional… odd thought. The occasional desire to touch him.
Not that he ever could. Not only did he not know how Mike was feeling about men, he had only seen him chasing women after all, but especially because he didn’t want to put him in a position where he gave in to something because he didn’t think he could say no. Or say no and leave.
But once in a while, they had these moments. Almost flirtations but hidden in a joke. Jokes that he almost meant, if Mike meant them as well.
They were rare, but they did happen. Enough to keep him wondering.
Wondering enough that he didn’t have the desire to bring some woman with him.
Maybe he deserved some clarity, some indulgence.
A work party was hardly the place to explore these feelings, but who was he to turn down an opportunity when it presented itself. Even if it was just an opportunity to tease Mike.
“I’ll do it, but if I murder him, you have to bail me out,” Harvey declared after a short pause. Mike gasped exaggeratedly, but he just ignored him again.
“Deal,” Donna agreed with a smile, just as Jeff returned with their drinks in hand.
He allowed himself to relax a little, still aware of Mike’s arm around his, as they chatted.
Mike laid it on thick with the pet names and touches, and eventually, Harvey just allowed himself to join in, inhabitations lowering with every drink.
“So, how did you two meet? At work, was it?” Jeff asked innocently, putting an arm around Donna to pull her tighter. She looked surprisingly pleased with it.
Maybe she did like this one.
“Yes. It wasn’t very exciting,” Harvey said, hoping to rein in whatever absurd story Mike would have come up with otherwise, but the grin on his face told him he had other ideas.
“Not exactly love at first sight then?” Jeff asked, nodding as if he understood that feeling.
“Oh nothing that straight forward! This guy has walls higher than the Empire State. It was more of a slow burn, wouldn’t you say, honey?” Mike grinned, looking up at Harvey, leaning more into his side.
“You say that like you didn’t fall in love with me the moment you met me,” Harvey smirked confidently.
If Mike could make up stories, so could he.
Lies always worked best when they were close to the truth; he knew Mike had admired him from the get-go. Underneath that cocky confidence that made Harvey hire him in the first place, he was very much aware of the gratefulness Mike felt towards him.
Quite rightly so, he did put his ass on the line for a perfect stranger with a big brain and still is really. Not that it wasn’t beneficial for him.
“You always think everyone loves you when they meet you,” Mike remarked.
Harvey thought he could see Mike blush a little. How very interesting.
“But it’s true for you. You are everything but subtle”
“Perhaps. He liked me too, though, it just took him a lot longer to admit it,” Mike continued for Jeff, who smiled.
“Yeah, I know what that feels like,” he said, glancing at Donna in his arm.
Donna had a little smirk on her lips and stayed surprisingly quiet during the whole story like she knew the whole thing already.
Not that she could argue with any of it, they only did this for her, but he didn’t expect her to actually enjoy the charade as well.
“You make a great couple for sure,” Jeff commented.
“Thank you. We are very happy,” Mike grinned, and then had the actual audacity to lean in and place a quick peck on Harvey’s cheek. Like it was normal.
Harvey tried hard to not look surprised, tried hard to not give them away or wipe his cheek, biting his tongue to not make a sarcastic remark. He glared at Mike, though, who just winked at him and leaned more into him; he was so close now, he practically forced Harvey to place his hand against his back. Not that Harvey complained about it.
He should really draw a line here before they crossed any lines that there was no coming back from.
Self-preservation wasn’t very high on his list of priorities though, and somehow, he just wasn’t bothered by any of it; and so he did the opposite of stopping.
He slid it slowly along Mike's back until it settled on his side, squeezing his skin gently.
Harvey thought he could practically feel him shiver in his arm, and he allowed himself a little smirk.
It was weird how it didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. It was almost natural.
Donna told the story of how she met Jeff at Yoga and they kicked it off after she gave him a bit of a hard time, seeming genuinely happy. It was different to how he had seen her in any of her other previous relationships.
If she had a good time, maybe this whole thing was worth it; though he had to admit, he was enjoying himself.
Eventually, they found themselves at the bar when Donna and Jeff excused themselves to the dancefloor and squeezed into a quieter corner; Harvey was leaning against the wall, with Mike on the barstool in front of him, a little space between them.
“You got some stories about relationships,” Harvey remarked as he nursed his whiskey.
“Yeah, well, we were all young once”
“What, so it was true?”
“Based on a true story, anyway. It wasn’t my family though, because, well, they are all dead. It was the family of the guy I was seeing at the time, and they certainly wasn’t all that amused. They kicked me out after, and I am pretty sure they tried to send him to some kind of conversion camp afterwards. Turned out they were Christian”
“Oh,” was all Harvey could say.
“Yeah. I didn’t see him afterwards, but I am pretty sure he is married now. To a man, that is. Lives down in California,” Mike carried on, and Harvey nodded, barely paying attention.
He was too busy processing the previous information first. And he certainly didn’t feel some type of way about it.
“I didn’t know you were bi,” he finally said.
“There was never a reason to bring it up, really... How about you?” Mike asked, sounding a little intrigued. There was some curiosity in his eyes as he purposefully made eye contact with Harvey. Harvey quickly looked away.
“What about me?”
“Well, you know, have you ever kissed a boy and liked it?”
Mike’s tone was more joking but Harvey had no doubt he meant it.
Harvey wasn’t sure what to say.
The honest answer was no, he had never been with a man, but… he kind of wanted to. Not that he could say that. Who knew what Mike would do with that information, probably treat it as some kind of invitation.
“That’s none of your business,” he simply said instead, but couldn’t hide his little smile. Mike gasped offendedly.
“Oh come on, I just came out to you as well!”
“That’s on you”
“Wow, I see how it is,” Mike muttered, taking a sip of his drink.
“It’s good to know though,” Harvey said more to himself than to Mike, but of course he caught it.
“How so?” he asked intrigued if a little challenging.
“It just is”
“Hm. Well I guess it’s also good to know that you didn’t say no”
There was something in his eyes, something Harvey had gotten to know well the past months they have been working together. The same look Mike gave him whenever they approached the edge of professionality, whenever either of them said something slightly flirtatious, slightly inappropriate.
Their eyes were still locked.
He didn’t look away, on the contrary; he slid away from the wall, leaning more on the counter, closer to Mike.
“How come you didn’t bring a date tonight?” Mike asked, still holding his gaze.
“This isn’t a date? I am gutted,” Harvey said sarcastically, taking a sip from his whiskey.
“Oh, so you planned on this all along? You could have just asked,” Mike said, almost too serious to count as a joke. Harvey just smirked.
“There wasn’t anyone I wanted to bring,” he replied plainly.
“I am much better company anyway,” Mike grinned.
“You are very lippy again tonight. Seems like you’re enjoying this”
“Hey, free drinks. I don’t need much more for a good time”
“What a way to find out you are an alcoholic”
Mike huffed a laugh.
“Yeah, that’s me. The queer alcoholic. Only took you a year to figure me out. And you claim you are good at reading people”
“Is that a challenge?”
Harvey leaned in closer, and Mike looked at him defiantly.
“Maybe”
Harvey grinned, looking around the room. Everyone was just minding their own business, either dancing or standing in little groups, talking or being silent.
He picked out a little group of four not far from them, some people he didn’t remember seeing before.
There was an older guy, with a considerably younger woman on his arm and an absentminded look on her face, but in a tight dress with jewels around her neck, talking to two younger men, one of whom was constantly stealing glances from the woman. She gave a little smile whenever she noticed his eyes on her.
“Take them for an example,” he said, quickly nodding his head in the group`s direction. Mike turned on the chair, following his gaze, his shoulder touching Harvey’s.
“The old guy is clearly trying to impress them, but the guy in the poorly tailored suit is more interested in his date, who clearly would much rather go with him than the old guy”
“What a shocker,” Mike commented, and Harvey suppressed a laugh.
“Now the third guy, he is constantly checking out his friend, and he is not very pleased with the development between him and the woman”
“He is jealous,” Mike concluded, “not that the other one would notice. Straight guys, they are so oblivious”
Harvey could feel him turn his face slightly to look at him. He could feel his breath against the skin of his cheek, sending a trail of goose pimples down his arm.
“That was hardly a challenge though,” Mike said quietly. Harvey used all his strength to keep looking straight ahead.
“What is a challenge then?”
“Donna and Jeff. Thoughts?”
Harvey’s eyes found them on the dancefloor.
“She seems happy. We will see if it lasts or if she gets bored. He is definitely keen to make a great impression, he is clearly infatuated.”
“Was she right? Do you tend to scare them away?” Mike asked again quietly. Really with the personal questions tonight.
“Not purposefully”
“So there is nothing going on? There are moments where it feels like there was some… history, and if you’re so protective of her…” Mike said cautiously.
“There’s nothing,” Harvey said quickly, watching the couple as they left the dancefloor.
“Do you want to reassure him of that?” Mike asked, his voice cheekier now.
“That is what we are doing right now,” Harvey reminded him, finally turning his face to look at him. His face was so close, so temptingly close for just a second, and he leaned back slightly to bring a little breathing space between them.
He suddenly felt quite hot.
Mike’s hand slid across the counter to find his, putting it on top.
Harvey didn’t comment on it. Slowly, the realization of what Mike had actually meant dawned on him.
“Are you saying we should kiss?”
Mike shrugged.
“I am just saying, if you want to make a point… For Donna, that is”
Harvey looked back over to Donna and Jeff, making sure they were still coming their way, looking in their general direction.
He had no reason to believe that Jeff hadn’t bought the story so far.
But there was that wondering again. That desire that would be so easy to give in now, that he was literally offered the chance to do what he had thought about so many times, with no consequences, no expectations… Harvey was a hedonist at heart.
“Okay,” he said then plainly, not risking to destroy the moment, the chance, with some silly comment.
Mike glanced over his shoulder, slipping off his chair, and moving closer to Harvey’s space.
And then he leaned in, and Harvey did too, and there was a little flutter of anticipation in his chest.
And then, Mike’s lips were on his, his hands were around his neck, and Harvey’s hands found his waist as he pulled him a little closer.
It was all rather innocent - Harvey didn’t dare deepen the kiss and Mike didn’t try – and yet it sent a shiver down his body, sparking a desire in his midst that he hadn’t realized was there before. It was over quickly, and yet they didn’t move away from each other.
There was a new tension between them, the air growing heavier than it ever had been in that short moment when their eyes met. Mike loosened his hands around his neck, letting them fall onto his shoulders, before withdrawing them completely, moving back to sit back down on the stool just as Donna and Jeff arrived.
“Hey, lovebirds,” Donna greeted in a suggestive tone, her voice a little higher than normal.
He saw Mike giving a little smile, then quickly looking down to the floor in front of him, a thoughtful expression on his face.
Jeff busied himself with getting the bartender's attention, as Donna found Harvey’s side.
“What was that?” she whispered; her eyes widened in excitement.
“We thought if we are doing a charade, we better sell it”
“We, huh? How cute”
“What are you saying?”
“I am saying that you look suspiciously couple-y together”
At this Mike perked up again, looking at them, clearly hearing every word they said.
“Well, that was the point”
“And you are really going for it. Maybe you two should have considered a career in acting instead”
She winked at Harvey, who was left speechless as she walked to join Jeff’s side.
Donna knew everything. Maybe even things he didn’t know about himself until now.
Mike looked at him, smiling a little.
“I think we smashed that, if even Donna is fooled”
“I think we did too,” Harvey smiled.
“And we had an audience,” Mike whispered, subtly gesturing back to the group they just talked about; the third guy, the one who was infatuated with his friend, looked over to them, almost dreamily, before he noticed Harvey looking back at him and quickly looked down.
“It’s hard to live other people’s dreams,” Harvey joked.
Harvey hadn’t planned to stay as long as he did. A quick stop, that’s what he had told himself.
And then somehow, it was two AM and the lights turned on in the hall, marking the end of the party.
And somehow, he had had a lot of fun. More than at the balls in the last few years for sure.
That was maybe the weirdest thing of it all. The entire night, he and Mike were practically glued together by the hip, under the pretence to make their story believable, but if Harvey was honest, he knew that they didn’t have to do that strictly speaking.
No, he chose to do that.
Because really, there wasn’t anyone else he would have wanted to speak to anyway.
In fact, he had been just fine standing close to Mike, watching the other people making observations and guesses about them and laughing at their own jokes and imitations.
He had been careful to not have any lingering touches with Mike after that kiss; staged as it was, it felt like something had shifted between them then, and any touch felt so much more intimate, so much more intentional.
A tension that hadn’t left them throughout the rest of the night, like little sparks of electricity that emerged whenever they did touch briefly.
The world felt different now with the lights on like he had been ripped from a dream.
Maybe that is all it was, it could be. A dream.
They walked out together, saying goodbye to Donna and Jeff as they put them in the next Taxi that pulled up.
And then they stood there, watching the rest of the guests clear out until they were alone.
Neither of them said a word for a little while. The charade was officially over, leaving Harvey all sorts of confused and in no hurry to go home.
The most sensible thing for them to do would be to move on and let it go, pretending like it never happened. Maybe put the mask back on should they meet Jeff on another social outing, but that was wishful thinking.
If he turned out to be the one for Donna, they could hardly keep it up for the rest of their lives.
The silence grew heavy, almost uncomfortable, as they were standing out there on the pavement, all by themselves.
“So,” Mike said into the night, “tonight was fun”
“It was,” Harvey agreed genuinely.
“Good to know what a fake date with Harvey Specter feels like,” Mike joked.
“Now imagine a real one,” Harvey said without thinking, biting his tongue immediately.
Mike grinned suggestively, both of his eyebrows raising.
“What, are you asking me out?” he said jokingly, though his eyes were serious.
What if he was?
He could think of plenty worse ways to spend the night than what they did tonight.
If anything, now that he had a taste of it, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to just go back. In fact, the thought itself was almost painful.
“Why did you go along with it right away?” Harvey asked and Mike shifted a little.
“Oh, you know, For Donna,” he said, but it did not sound sincere.
“Just for Donna?”
“I thought it might be fun, because… you know”
A beat.
Harvey didn’t know. He had a hunch though.
A hope, at best.
A fear, at worst.
No certainty either way.
It was a weird dance they were doing; Harvey felt they were both asking the same question, both skirting around the answer.
He was aware of the absurdity of it all, and yet he couldn’t bring himself to be the one to admit what he was thinking aloud, couldn’t be the one to address the tension between them and give it a name.
“Right,” Harvey just said, because he didn’t know what else to say.
“You’re not straight, are you?” Mike asked suddenly, so unexpectedly, it almost made Harvey laugh.
He took a step closer to Mike, close enough to touch now if either of them just reached out.
“You didn’t just do it for Donna, did you?” he gave back, meeting Mike’s gaze.
Silence again, as they just looked at each other, fighting the silent battle of who would give in first.
“No,” Mike finally said, “no, I did not just do it for Donna”
Harvey smiled a little.
“Yes,” he then said, and Mike frowned.
“Yes?”
“Yes, I did kiss a boy and like it”
Now Mike was smiling too, his face illuminated just enough in the dimmed light of the street lamps.
“Right,” Mike repeated after Harvey, and they looked at each other again for another second.
Mike was the first to break the tension, starting to laugh. He stepped closer into Harvey’s space and Harvey soon joined in the laughter, placing his hands on Mike’s upper arms in a quasi-hug.
“Why are we like this,” Mike asked, and Harvey could not think of an answer. It wasn’t necessary.
Their eyes met again, and this time it was Harvey who took Mike’s face between his hands, leaning in to kiss him again, properly this time, as he meant it. Like he had thought about, during the long nights alone in his office.
Mike’s hand found the collar of his shirt, holding him close; he was practically leaning against his chest, and Harvey had to reposition one arm around Mike’s back to stabilize them, grinning into the kiss.
This time, they didn’t hold back.
Mike willingly opened his mouth to meet Harvey’s tongue with his, matching his passion easily.
That little spark of desire, it grew into an explosive flame, taking over every part of his body as he just needed to feel Mike close to him, refusing to break the kiss until his lungs were screaming for air.
They brought their foreheads together, gasping for air, the tension between them still charged.
Harvey’s hands dropped down to Mike’s sides, refusing to let go of this moment just yet.
“So you really were just looking for an excuse to kiss me earlier, huh?” he concluded, and Mike laughed breathlessly.
“What, I thought you could tell from the very first day that I liked you?”
“I could. Just not if it was the usual admiration or something… more”
“More. Definitely more,” Mike mumbled, leaning in for another kiss, more tender this time.
Harvey could get used to this.
“I gathered as much,” he mumbled as they broke apart and Mike grinned.
“Oh, and yes, I will go on a proper date with you”
“Who said I was asking?”
“Your tongue in my mouth kind of gave it away”
“Hm, I see. Does that mean this one is over now or...?” Harvey asked subtly. Maybe it was too soon. Maybe it was a mistake
But by God, he just waited almost forty years of his life to give into that other side of him, to allow himself to embrace his fantasies of men.
And really, they had this coming for months, in retrospect. If he hadn’t been so stubborn…
Either way, he had waited long enough.
“Brooklyn is awfully far away,” Mike mumbled, meeting his eyes. Harvey recognized the same desire, the same passion in them.
“I couldn’t agree more,” Harvey grinned and waved down a taxi.
He made a mental note to thank Donna Monday morning.
