Work Text:

Loud bustles fill the room, with sweaty bodies and drunken minds swaying around.

Jungkook hates noisy places and even more crowds.

Jungkook remains stoic, his suit pristine, glasses, and mask on.

What seems to get everyone's attention are the bunny lop ears on his head. He hates how they think it makes him weak.

Ignoring everyone, he remains standing behind the single-seat plush sofa.

Kim Taehyung, the king of the underworld, is seated in front of him.

The ruthless mob boss was once a mere human, but there isn't anything mere about him even when he's human.

Demons, witches, fairies, beasts, vampires, and werewolves have nothing on the man.

He remains all-powerful and is feared by the whole world.

The bodyguard isn’t needed anyway.

Who also seems to be the one and only most adored love of his life.

In the other world, the king and his bodyguard are pretty close. He doesn't understand if they're dumb on purpose or seriously dense to not see or realise, but he doesn't care.

"Choi, you seem to forget who owns the underworld. Perhaps a visit to your pretty little wife residing in Russia would unlock your memory? What do you say?"

At the dangerous deep voice, the man in front shakes and sweats out of his wits.

"N-no Mr. Kim."

"That's what I thought, you have one week to complete the shipment, or the next day you'll have ashes on your hands, not your weapon."

"Yes M-Mr. Kim."

When Taehyung flicks his finger, the man scrambles off the couch, running away.

Taehyung takes a sip of his whiskey.

Every demon, witch, fairy and god knows how many mythical creatures surround them.

The creatures who kill humans every other day scramble to hide from Kim Taehyung's eyes.

This is how much fear Kim Taehyung had instilled in everyone.

"Jungkook."

Taehyung speaks one word, and Jungkook is in front of him.

"How many left."

"7 more sir."

Taehyung closes his eyes, throws his head back, and a groan leaves his lips.

"I need air."

With that as the last words, Taehyung storms off to the stairs, Jungkook right behind him.

He can see and hear people laughing and mocking him, calling him a lost puppy who's always trailing after the King.

He doesn't pay them any mind and walks towards where Taehyung left.

After reaching the lift where Taehyung is already waiting for him, Jungkook presses the button for the terrace and swaps his key card.

Of course, the building attached to the bar belongs to Taehyung and only he is allowed to go to some places.

Taehyung wraps his left arm around Jungkook, the right one tapping away on his phone. Always busy.

As soon as they reach the terrace, Taehyung walks towards the balcony with Jungkook in his arms.

He sits on the lounge chair, leaning back and gazing at the stars. He tugs at Jungkook's hand when he stands beside him.

Jungkook plants himself on Taehyung's inviting lap, his hands around Taehyung's shoulder, when Taehyung wraps his hands around Jungkook's waist.

He pulls Jungkook closer till their chest flushes.

He unwraps one arm to run it over Jungkook's fuzzy bunny ears.

"I'm going to fire Minho tomorrow."

Taehyung says, voice calm and deep, soothing his brain.

Jungkook closes his eyes, enjoying the feeling of Taehyung's soothing hands petting his ears.

He smiles when Taehyung speaks further.

"No hyung let him be. He's good at fighting."

Taehyung raises his brow at him as if asking, 'are you serious.'

"He may be good at fighting, but you're the best, and you know it too. Winning a hand-to-hand combat fight with 5 people where one of them had a knife is not easy, but you won it. So don't make it seem like him going is a big loss. We might lose one good fighter, but how he treats you is not it"

"It's okay hyung. These people are foolish and arrogant, thinking they're above me just because they're demons and I'm a prey hybrid."

Taehyung scoffs, his hands curling tighter around Jungkook's waist, a smirk growing on his lips.

"How foolish of them to underestimate you when you can snap their neck like a twig if you wanted to."

"It’s what makes it funnier hyung, they think they're above me, but they can only dream."

They both laugh at the situation.

"Hyung you have 7 more to go. You know that, right?"

"Argh, I hate these meetings, incompetent fools. Tell Park to take care of it.”

Taehyung groans, throwing his head back, successfully making Jungkook chuckle.

"Okay, I will tell him, now Mr. Kim, what is your plan for tonight?"

Jungkook asks wiggling his eyebrows cheekily and that alone has Taehyung looking at Jungkook darkly.

"Oh, why not find out?"

Taehyung, with a suggestive squeeze to Jungkook's waist, smirks. Which makes Jungkook laugh again.

—|Ω•Ω•Ω|—

Jungkook makes his way towards the pantry Taehyung had opened in their base so the gang members can eat if they're hungry.

Jungkook is just going to brew some green tea for Taehyung, knowing he doesn't like coffee and he's all swamped with work.

As he's in the middle of brewing some coffeefor himself, he feels someone entering the room, and when he looks up he mentally sighs.

Jihoon is one of those demons who think they’re above Jungkook and likes to mock him because he’s closest to the king.

“Ahh jeon, already on your maid duty?”

Jihoon laughs after saying that, like the asshole he is, Jungkook doesn’t react. Knowing full well that the more attention he gives, the worse they become. If he doesn’t respond, they eventually get bored of him.

“Why? You want to do it instead of me?”

Jungkook decides to ask him today.

No problem having a little fun every now and then, right?

Jihoon balanches his words as if they physically hit him. Hard.

“How dare you say that, you asslicker. You probably do filthy things. Ewww I would never want to be in your place.”

And Jungkook knows he hit the right nerve to elicit such a reaction from him.

“If not, then why are you here? Jihoon. If I am so disgusting, why do you keep following me? Do you have a crush on me? Because I am sure; you’re not jobless enough to obsess over me and follow me every time you see me just because you hate me, or is it? Tell me, what exactly do you gain from this?”

Jungkook calmly asks as he drains the tea bag into the cup, waiting for him to speak up.

When he gets his silence, he turns around and tries to muffle his laugh at the sight of Jihoon's retreating back. Jungkook can envision his scowl from where he’s standing.

After the tea is prepared, Jungkook takes some snacks with him for Taehyung in a tray along with the coffee he brewed for himself.

He enters Taehyung's office and finds him in his previous position, immersed in his documents.

“Sir, your snacks.”

Taehyung looks up and gives him a small smile, which never fails to make Jungkook's heart weak.

"You know I met Jihoon in the pantry."

Taehyung calmly sips his tea before putting it down, looking at Jungkook. a clear indication of telling him to continue.

"He kind of mocked me again."

Taehyung raises his brow as he picks up his phone, and Jungkook knows what he is going to do.

"Listen to me. It's ok. I kind of embarrassed him and he stormed off like an angry little kid"

"And?"

Taehyung sternly asks as if it's supposed to change his decision.

"Don't fire him Taehyung. If he does something again, we'll think about it."

Taehyung chews something nonexistent, a habit his Jungkook is all too familiar with.

Taehyung lets out a 'fine' in his deep voice, but he doesn't stop tapping away on his phone.

Jungkook knows if Taehyung agrees to something, he won't go back on his words, so he doesn't worry about what he is doing. He's a bit curious, though.

Jungkook, later that day, walking out of their headquarters behind Taehyung, sees a member still in the base with a much bigger stack of files on his desk. It was none other than Jihoon, who looked like he would rather be dead than do all that work.

Jungkook fails to muffle his laugh, the hilarity of the situation hitting him.

Serves him right , Jungkook thinks.

On their way home, Jungkook couldn't stop the occasional laughs that escaped his lips.

Taehyung sported a small smile himself. If it means such gleeful happiness for Jungkook, he would gladly burden the lowlives with excessive work for him.

As soon as they reach their home, they fresh up and decide to have a nice hot meal which their servants had surely prepared by now.

When they're under the covers well-fed, Jungkook lays half on top of Taehyung, arms wrapped around his bunny, scratching his back softly.

"Bun, we'll be meeting the Hwang clan tomorrow. Although we did establish a common ground, I still don't trust them to not pull any tricks. I want you to be careful tomorrow, okay?"

"Mmkay hyungie."

Jungkook answers from where he's buried his face in Taehyung's neck, rubbing his chin on the exposed skin.

Humans don't have scent glands like hybrids or fairies. Demons ooze the essence of evil, so their scent is not needed.

But Jungkook, a bunny hybrid sensitive to smells, can smell the distinct scent of Taehyung. It's subtle, but it's comforting.

"I want you to wear that bulletproof vest."

At that, Jungkook groans, showing his displeasure.

"I know bun, but we can't have them harming you."

Jungkook grumbles a 'fine' before he snuggles up into Taehyung and drifts off to dreamland with Taehyung petting his fuzzy ears.

—|Π•Π•Π|—

The next day on their way to meet with the Hwang clan, Taehyung's body is tense.

Anyone else looking at him would say he's pretty relaxed. But Jungkook, having been living with Taehyung for years, knows his body postures and what it conveys.

Jungkook, beside Taehyung, nudges his hand with his own, giving him a small smile that Taehyung returns.

As soon as they meet the Hwang clan, Taehyung immediately jumps to the point. Discussing the payment of explosives that they're buying from them.

When the meeting is about to end, the hair on Jungkook's neck stands.

Jungkook, from where he's standing behind Taehyung, tenses up. He frantically looks left and right. And before anyone can say anything about his behaviour, he pulls Taehyung's chair behind him, and everyone is shocked at his strength.

Taehyung stands up, asking him quietly what's wrong.

"It's just my instincts. Something's very, very wrong."

Taehyung doesn't question him, knowing Jungkook would never risk his safety when it comes to things like this, and so he leisurely puts his hand in his pocket.

"Now, what did I say about pulling any tricks up your ass, Hwang?"

Taehyung says as he kicks the heavy wooden table out of the way, slowly walking towards Hwang, that old man sitting on his leather chair thinking he looks superior.

The demons around them bare their teeth, horns protruding from their heads. Their eyes glowing red.

Yet not moving a limb forward, the fear inside their eyes was palpable.

Taehyung, a human. Did not just own the underworld in a snap.

It was a slow process of winning everything bit by bit.

The demons and predator hybrids, witches, fairies and everyone else do not fear him for nothing.

He came out of nowhere and swept everyone off their feet and not in a swooning way.

He's a human who's more dangerous and lethal than any other beast out there.

Kim Taehyung is a Satan incarnate whom demons themselves fear for their existence.

Taehyung pulls a gun from his back, digging it into Hwang's neck.

"What. Did. I. Say"

Taehyung slowly repeats, jabbing the gun harshly in the opponent's neck with every word.

His eyes were dark. Menacing. He looks dangerous in a way no one dares move a single limb in his presence.

"I didn't do anything. Your bodyguard is making a fuss out of nothing. Did anything even happened?"

Hwang says, shaking, eyes focused on Taehyung's finger on the trigger.

One click, and he's dead.

He knows, and that's what got him speaking in his defence.

"Don't try to play with me, we all know there's something about to happen."

Taehyung says and he steps back, a second later a bullet flies from left to right, no sound nothing.

If Taehyung hadn't moved the bullet would've lodged itself in his head.

Taehyung smirks, not saying anything, looking at Hwang with venomous eyes.

The demons growl, crouching down, their clothes burning off showing their original appearance, burnt red flesh, black eyes, horns out, and fangs baring.

There's a tearing sound followed by a howl.

The werewolf walks to stand beside Hwang, followed by a snake curling itself around Hwang's chair and it's clear he's one of hybrids.

Hwang, still scared, laughs. With his hands still shaking.

"You will never rule the underworld, Kim. You're just a mere human."

"If you begged me to forgive you, I would've. But now that you threaten me, your clan will be in ashes by tomorrow. Run how much you can, Hwang. I'll find you and kill you."

With that being said, Taehyung turns around and starts walking.

The demons surge forward to attack him, but he doesn't look back. Sure enough, his clan members move forward, fighting the fiends themselves.

The wolf hybrid runs towards Taehyung, he jumps and aims for Taehyung's head. Before the wolf can get close to even a metre, Jungkook moves around, his right leg lifting up, and it slams onto the Wolf's Ribs.

Sending him flying to the wooden cabinet in the corner. The sound of wood shattering can be heard.

Jungkook fixes his suit and starts walking behind Taehyung as if nothing happened.

Taehyung smirks.

Everyone in the Hwang clan gapes at the bunny hybrid's display of such unimaginable strength.

Taehyung's clan members themselves try not to gape everytime Jungkook is in action.

They may trash Jungkook because of jealousy. But even then knows that no one can be a better bodyguard for their boss than Jeon Jungkook himself.

A bunny hybrid, prey in nature, whose instincts are a blessing atop his fighting skills which he practised and mastered.

His strength is not natural. He built it up over the years. And that's what scares everyone.

Taehyung and Jungkook were not born with the abilities people gape at them for.

They built it themselves on their own with their hard work.

The most magical sight is their once-in-a-year mega training session cum competition.

When every clan member participates in fighting with their fellow members to see who's the strongest, the person who wins disputes with another winner.

The weaker ones get filtered out, bit by bit.

When the top 6 players remain, Jungkook and Taehyung step in. They fight 3 vs 1, and in the end every clan member sits defeated to watch the combat of the year.

When Taehyung and Jungkook fight, they do it hand to hand, with no weapons, nothing.

It's fascinating to see them move so swiftly, dodging the attacks on instincts. Jungkook possesses greater strength, but Taehyung got tricks. Jungkook might be able to overpower Taehyung and get him locked for a few seconds by his muscles. But Taehyung comes out swiftly, twisting around magically.

Taehyung is the winner every year.

It leaves an impression on everyone, and the words also spread like wildfire.

That Kim Taehyung is here because he's self-made. He continues to prove how he fought his way up. His wins are a constant reminder to every clan in the underworld that he's still the same when he defeats everyone. And he will be a constant reminder that he can destroy them if he wants.

A constant reminder to fear him.

Fear Kim Taehyung.

—|Ω•Ω•Ω|—

After they reach their headquarters, Taehyung is busy with calls preparing for the downfall of the Hwang clan. It's lots of bribing, threatening, and manipulation, among other things.

Most of the time, getting the work done is not hard, considering there are an equal number of clans who respect Taehyung; as to those who fear him.

There is also a larger group who despise him, but then the question arises, what can they do?

Nothing.

Exactly, nothing.

Taehyung is smarter. They can very well try to attack him headon. They might kill his clan members, but they won't be able to kill him. He will ensure to teach each and every enemy off, and he will rise again.

Just like he did before.

And that thought alone scares everyone.

He has nothing to lose. He will remain alive because he's clever and strong like that; in the end, they will die, whereas Kim Taehyung will rise again.

So really. Who's at a loss here?

But that was the talk of before. Nowadays, people are conspiring to kill him, and the word spreads that Kim Taehyung's life lies in his precious bodyguard. The bunny hybrid Jeon Jungkook.

Jungkook laughs as he dodges the punches of these weak, puny little demons, swinging their wobbly fists around like a kid.

He ducks down, flattening his leg on the ground before swiping it around.

Successfully hitting their legs and making them lose their balance.

He takes one small bottle, which everyone looks at, confused and before they can make a move to stand up, Jungkook lights up a lighter.

Everyone's eyes widened in horror.

The four demons lying on the ground screech and scramble back.

Jungkook laughs maniacally before he puts the tip of the sprayer behind the lighter flame.

He pushes the top gently, and then everything is chaos.

The demon's bodies catch fire as the petrol-induced fire laps at their bodies.

Open flesh burning leaves a disgusting stench behind.

Jungkook laughs as he turns around and starts walking.

Knowing all too well, the demons won't be able to stand up and come after him.

The lighter and petrol sprayer in a perfume bottle is his favorite weapon.

It looks so small and inconspicuous that no one has any idea what it does whenever Jungkook pulls it out.

And whoever saw him pulls them out is never left alive.

So the mistery continues.

People are foolish enough to come after him thinking they can use him for the downfall of Kim Taehyung. But they don't know he's an iron armour on Kim Taehyung's empire.

He doesn't weaken them. He makes them stronger and more powerful. Dangerous.

Jungkook lets out a laugh, low and maniac. Before putting a black playboy bunny mask on his face, voice low whispering—

"beware the double bunny, Fear the double bunny."
