Chapter Text
"DEAN!" Charlie yelled as she let herself into his apartment.
"In here," he said as he continued to sing and strum his guitar, without an effort to look towards Charlie.
"How do I get you off my mind
with you back in my bed
how do I get you off my mind
can't have you living in my head."
Charlie had been trying all month to get him to leave the house. But he’d always claimed to be busy. Usually, whenever he was upset, he would call Benny. Because that’s exactly what they did for each other when upset; call, hang out and sleep over. Dean never knew why it helped so much but it just did. Now, Benny has a girlfriend and does not have the time to put in the same commitment as he used to. They still worked together and trusted each other, but their relationship had not been the same ever since they stopped being best friends.
But Charlie was still there and has been there for like forever. She practically grew up with him and Sam. So, she knows how to get him out of the house when he's in a funk
"Dean, we’re going out tonight. Jo invited us to the glow in the dark party. She would kill us if we didn't go," she whined.
"Okay…" Dean replied indifferently.
"Okay? Okay, seriously I thought I was going to have to pull all the stops," she said confused.
"I don't feel like y'all calling Benny and carrying me out the house again. Let's just get it over with '' he said, still without looking at her.
Charlie laughed, "...that was a good one. Okay, get dressed and we’ll leave in twenty," she placed a kiss on his forehead and ran to the guest room. Charlie had been trying to act like she wasn't living with Dean, but he didn’t care either. He liked the company.
Dean hesitantly puts on jean pants with a black tee and red overshirt (giving demon dean very much so).
As they arrived at the club, Jo greeted them and gave them glow-in-the-dark everything; bracelets, crowns, necklaces, rings.
Jo looked at Charlie and said, “you look good tonight,” then winked.
Charlie goes completely weak, "th-t-thank...y-y-you…"
Dean rolled his eyes and slipped into the seat next to Charlie.
Jo smiled at her and slipped behind the bar to pour them a drink. Dean is on his second drink when a guy and his friends accidentally bumped into his stool. He turned and got a clear look at Angel Eyes as he's being whisked away by his friends. Somehow, Angel Eyes had the same look on Dean’s face, a look that showed he was also forced to the club. It made sense from the way he sluggishly looked at Dean, and it kind of left a smile on Dean’s face. Then he realized...
"I'm so sorry," Angel Eyes stopped and said loudly as they made eye contact. Followed by a cheerful grin and a distinct wink as he got dragged away again
Dean could have sworn he knew that voice and those glaring eyes. His heart sank the moment it dawned on him. “No way…” he gasped as he straightened up. Charlie and Jo could obviously tell something was wrong.
"What's up?" Jo asked, visibly confused and worried.
"Yeah, you look like you just saw a ghost," Charlie added.
He gulped as he opened his mouth to speak, "I- I- I think that was Castiel," he stuttered in a shocked tone.
