Aether - Toffee Nut Crunch Latte
He would love this extra sweet drink because of the fun texture the toppings add to the rich foamy coffee. He'd also probably splurge a bit on the sachet form of the drink so that he could enjoy it on cold mornings anywhere in the comfort of their quarters. Dew would definitely steal some from him because he's a little rat for fun things but Aether doesn't mind if it means he gets to have Dew huddled up next to him with both hands on one of Aether's around the warm paper cup.
Cirrus - Gingerbread Latte
She likes all things spiced and believes that the cinnamon and nutmeg just add a whole new dimension to the coffee. The last few months of the year from fall onwards are her favourite for the abundance of all the flavours she loves. Swiss would probably buy her a gingerbread man to match with her drink because he thinks it only makes sense. But also, he really likes seeing Cirrus taking her time and enjoying her favourite part - the small lines and buttons of frosting on the gingerbread man.
Cumulus - Red Velvet Hot Cocoa
She would pick this drink just because it matched the whole ensemble of her coat, gloves and beanie and she would be so pleased at the fact. Not to mention that hot cocoa was already good, let alone with the extra bit that came with the red velvet flavouring. Her one complaint was that they didn't add mini marshmallows on the top but she innovated by bringing some of her own. The other ghouls would laugh as they saw her fumbling and popping a handful of marshmallows onto her drink from a small baggie in her pocket. After all, wasn't Christmas for indulgence?
Dew - Java Chip Frappe
He would get his drink cold despite the snow just to flex his warmer than normal body temperature. He does like warm drinks sometimes though when he doesn't feel like using much energy to put out heat. He's also always one for the drinks with the most textures and bits in them so he'd always enjoy the java chips. Like Cumulus, would definitely have a bunch of mini candycanes that the girls bought stashed in his coat pockets to munch with his drink during their trip to Starbucks.
Mountain - Chai
Similar to Cirrus, Mountain likes any natural flavours. He's not a coffee person though so chai is the perfect option for him. Coffee makes his heart beat just a bit too fast for comfort but Cirrus would persuade him to take a sip of her drink so she could share the goodness of it. He finds that it's not exactly the warm drinks or spice keeping him cozy though, rather the bond he's feeling amongst all of the group.
Rain - Matcha Latte
Like Mountain, Rain prefers the calmness that tea brings him but he does enjoy the fullness that milk adds to a drink so matcha is the way to go for him. Dew would probably laugh at Rain for drinking something that's green but he retorts the fact that Dew's also the one tasting and taking bites out of soap and candles. Dew finally stays quiet and makes pleading eyes for help at Aether, who just laughs.
Sunshine - Caramel Hot Chocolate
She's always liked the slightly smokey sweetness of caramel, enjoying it on anything from candied apples to salted caramel cakes. So you best believe she would add it to hot chocolate as well. Cumulus would furrow her brows at the lack of mini marshmallows on her friend's drink as well and offer her some extra ones. They would both be really pleased at the now-matching drinks and snap a picture for their own memories.
Swiss - Peppermint Mocha
He's always preferred bitter dark chocolate to anything overly sweet and the peppermint is such a good complimentary flavour. It makes him feel like he's exhaling icy smoke. Swiss would probably ask Dew for a mini candycane for an extra kick if he just felt like doing that to himself. Bonus, he would stir his drink with the end of the candy until it was a narrow dull point before licking it sharp with his tongue and poking Dew with his new shank just to annoy him.
That being said, even in the centuries they've been around, the ghouls would have some of the best times in something as simple as this coffee trip. Surrounded by the snow and cold, yet swaddled by twinkling Christmas lights lining the streets, merry tunes floating around and most importantly, the warmth from the ones they love.
