Not Your Typical Scene

Summary:

Initiate (Delilah) meets up with the Band ghouls for a well-deserved night off

Chapter Text

“You look nervous babe… promise I won’t bite.” Hot breath ghosts over your ear and neck, and you suppress a shudder, forcing a light chuckle. The multi-ghoul slides between you and a distracted Aether and Cirrus, nursing a dark amber beer bottle.

“No Stella,” He grins at my furrowed brow, white teeth on full display. It really should be illegal for Swiss to have such a handsome human glamour. He’s got such an easy smile, and the way his dimples show right before he throws his head back for a laugh always gets your heart racing. Be cool, don’t blow it…

You begin picking absent-mindedly at your fingers when Cirrus grabs Swiss’ attention, pulling him into a heated debate she is still trying to settle with Aether. You glance around the bar, partially to look for any other Clergy members, but mostly trying to calm your nerves.

The bar you were gathered in wasn’t the ghouls’ typical scene.

It was a multi-leveled establishment – part bar, part dance floor, part strip club – if you were being honest. Sunshine and Cumulus had long since disappeared to the uppermost level to dance. As had Sodo and Rain, but you were almost certain they weren’t headed for the same place as the ghoulettes.

Now, you looked over to the booths on the far side of the room. Mountain had broken off from the main group a little while ago, a petite blonde on one arm and a fetching brunette on the other. Tipsy had always been a good look on the tall ghoul, but it made him particularly handsome when glamoured.

The aforementioned party presided over a shadowy corner booth, the brunette currently working away at the drummer’s neck, the blonde practically sitting in his lap. You flushed scarlet as you watched the ghoul and his companions, caught red-handed as Mountain tilted his head back against the vinyl seat, eyes meeting your own gaze.

Suddenly, the pattern of the wood bar-top table was the most interesting thing you'd ever seen, silently willing your blush to ease.

"Earth to Delilah!"

Your head snaps up to see Cirrus eyeing you pointedly, eyebrows raIsed. Aether was absoloutely no help as he took a long swig from his pint, and neither was Swiss as he grinned back at your questioning look, sharp teeth worrying at his bottom lip. "I'm sorry, Cirrus, I didn't catc-"

The ghoulette waved a blasé hand in the air, tossing her head back as she downed what was left of her drink. Her mouth twisted, obviously regretting her choice to finish the bottle.

"Don't worry about it, Sister," Her voice was sweet, feather-light, especially when she used the wrong title. It ruffled your proverbial feathers, but you willed yourself to stand strong. The ghoulette's eyes narrowed, mouth puckering momentarily, before she nodded slightly, seemingly satisfied. Whatever that was...

"Well, boys, I'm off." Just like that Cirrus glossed over the interaction, hand going to Aether's shoulder, patting delicately. "Try not to cause too much rucus, hmm?" She gave Swiss such a pointed look he raised his hands in the air, surrendering.
