Chapter 1: Prologue PT1

Chapter Text

Tommy could only watch as Dream simply walked away from him, leaving the poor blonde with nothing but bruises and cuts as he stepped through the purple glowing portal. It felt like hours that Tommy simply laid there, unwilling to move from his spot, because if he moved then he would start hurting again. A harsh cold breeze washed over him, reminding himself that if he did nothing then he would only hurt more later. So, with great struggle, Tommy forced himself into a sitting position. Safe to say, it hurt like the Nether. A sharp hiss snuck through his clenched jaw and he wrapped an arm around his chest. Dream had stomped on it pretty hard so he probably had some problems there.... (When didn't he have a problem?) Tommy dared to look around at his exile beach, seeing all of the holes that Dream had been leaving with each and every visit. Speaking of which, Dream's visits became shorter and shorter, and the days he wouldn't visit became longer. It started as everyday for an hour, then turned into every 3 days of the week for 30 minutes, and now it was only 1 day a week for about 10 minutes. To make up for this, Dream had become much stricter and crueler to Tommy, often destroying his stuff for no reason.

He once had a group to help him up, to rally against the evil being, but.... He lost all of that a long time ago. 6 months to be exact. He could be off by a month though, he lost track a while back so he's just assuming. If Tommy had just not been stupid and let George's house alone, if he hadn't tried to bond with Ranboo, if he had just stayed silent, then he'd be at home with his friends. His family. But no, he just HAD to throw it all away didn't he? Although, he isn't mad at just himself.

Tubbo had made a promise with Tommy. "You and me, against the world!" Hah! What a load of bullshit. The second Dream threatened L'manberg again Tubbo threw him to the wilds like an empty soda can. Why couldn't Tubbo have just trusted Tommy? Why didn't he have his back? And the fact that Tubbo, or anyone really, never came to visit him is more than telling what the brunette thinks of him. It's just like Tubbo had said on that fateful day, "You're a liability to this nation Tommy." Tubbo didn't want Tommy around anymore, thought of him as useless and a burden. Tommy wanted to do what he and Will had done all of those years ago and run, run for the hills and never look back....

(Why hadn't he done it before?) Tommy blinks slightly, forcing himself to stand up despite his body's protests. His gaze went to the horizon in the direction he knew L'manberg was at. He was only banned from there and the Dream SMP, nowhere else. He- He could fucking leave this place and Dream couldn't be mad! But, he would be mad. Because Tommy would be disobeying his orders, and then Dream would get madandhithimorhurthimorkillhimandevrythingheloves- Tommy took some deep breaths and looked at the Nether portal next to him. Dream would most certainly do that.... If the bastard could catch him. His mind went to the first Disc War, with him running away from the mask wearing man while Tubbo created the first ender chest of that land, it was a nice memory. Once tainted by the events after it. Tommy could leave, he could leave and run until no one could catch him. He'd be free.... But what about everyone else? Tommy KNEW Dream would simply give up on Tommy and go after the others, and from what Dream's ranted about L'manberg has been at relative peace with the man. Did Tommy really want that on his conscience, that HE would be the reason Dream started another war with everyone? Well, if no one cared for him now, then he wouldn't care for them either.

*Time Skip*

Tommy had gathered his supplies, which all fitted into his worn out backpack, and he started on his way down the beach. He couldn't go towards L'manberg or the SMP, duh, and the other direction bled into a snow biome, and in Tommy's current condition, he wouldn't survive a day in there. So he decided to stick with the beach for now. He had been walking for about an hour now, and it was starting to get annoying. Especially since- "90 bottles of pop on the wall, 90 bottles of cheer, take one down, pass it around-" Ghostbur wouldn't shut up. Ironic, innit? THE Tommyinnit wanted someone to shut up. You're probably wondering why he took Ghostbur with him, and to be honest he didn't actually plan on it. The ghost just showed up while he was packing and started following him. He tried to convince the once-living being that he should go and stay with L'manberg, but the ghost refused. So here they were.

"Dammit, the sun's setting," Tommy exclaimed to himself as he watched the sun slowly dive into the horizon, it's glow slowly fading from the world. Pretty soon, monsters would come out and try to make a meal out of Tommy. And getting eaten alive, or dead, has gotta be a 0/10 experience for anyone. So yeah, Tommy did NOT, in fact, want to get murdered tonight.

"87 bottles of- Oooo hey Toms, look over there!" Ghostbur stopped his singing, finally, and pointed over to the distance. Tommy turned his gaze to where Ghostbur was looking at and saw a faint glow. (Someone's over there?) Tommy thought to himself as he began to think more about it. Rationally, no one from the SMP or L'manberg should be all the way out here. at least without a reason. The fear of Dream crept up like a creeper, a thought flashing of him finding out and now on the hunt for the blonde. Or, more likely, it was a complete stranger, or multiple people. On one hand that was good, he could potentially get some help. On the other hand, they could be dangerous murders who kill people for funzies..... Tommy was always a bit of a gambler man himself. Tommy took a few steps in that direction, before passing the fuck out. Hey, you try and get physically abused and walking for an hour non stop.

Chapter Text

Tommy gave a groan as he woke up, his head feeling like it had been thrown in a blender at max settings. He attempted to sit up but found his world flipping and turning all over the place so he sat back down. "Prime damn, what in the fuck happened?" Tommy said groggily, the events filling back in like rain droplets. As he slowly pieced together everything again, his first thought that was pain was, (shit.) He had passed out on the beach, just barely out of reach from potential help. He let a sigh escape him as he pushed against the soft fabric in disappointment.

Wait just a second-

Tommy turned his head to see that he was laying on a mattress with white sheets and a pillow under his head. Now he may have been a bit out of it but he knew for sure that he didn't pass out on a bed, so that meant only one thing. Those mysterious people must've found him and kidnapped him! Tommy's breathe picked up as he shot out of the bed. He needed to get out of here! What if they worked for Dream and were taking him right to him? WHAT IF THEY WERE DREAM HIMSELF?! Although, Tommy didn't get too far until his legs gave out, sending him crashing onto the wooden floor. *Thud* "Ow," Tommy grumbled to himself, flipping his body over to berate his legs for failing him. It was only then that he realized something, he was bandaged up! He could see through his torn clothing that some bandages were wrapped around some of his wounds, and some of the less major ones were cleaned and looked like they were never there to begin with. This confused him, as Dream wouldn't patch him up at all. Maybe- Maybe these people were nice after all?

Tommy was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't notice the door next to him being open, but he DID register the voice. "Oh, you're awake!"

"SHIT!" Tommy flipped around and attempted to stand up, which only resulted in him nearly falling over again.

"Woah, easy there," The person suddenly caught Tommy, their hands having a soft grip to them. Tommy was led back to the mattress and sat down, with him finally looking up to see the person. There had brown eyes, hair that split between white and brown, and wore a standard pirate costume. Y'know, black coat, grey pants, and brow boots, the usual thing. "Um, well I guess I should introduce myself to you, since you're, 'ya'know, awake and all of that," The person cleared their throat before speaking again, "My name is Cara Puffy Danvers, but you can just call me Puffy."

Tommy was hesitant to give her his name, as he was a bit nervous of the consequences it could bring, but looking at her genuine smile, he'd probably feel bad if he didn't give a reply. "Tommy. Tommy Innit Wa- er, just Tommy is fine," Tommy managed to squeak out nervously.

"Alright, cool, good to know that Ghostbur wasn't fibbing about names," Puffy said.

"Wait, you know Ghostbur?" Tommy asked.

"Well yeah, he's the guy who called us over when you passed out, speaking of which WHY THE HELL WERE YOU PASSED OUT AND BLEEDING?!" Puffy suddenly shouted. Tommy curled in on himself slightly, hating how the simple act of a voice raising could make him feel so small. "Oh shit, I-I'm sorry about," Puffy quickly apologized, "I'm just shocked that anyone would leave someone in that condition. Much less a kid who's got a lot of life left."

"Heh, y-you'd be surprised by what some people can do," Tommy attempted to throw some humor in, in a vain attempt to make the situation seem lighter. But that only seemed to raise the concern from the woman.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Puffy asked, her head tilting ever so slightly.

"I-It's nothing. B'sides, why do you even wanna know? We literally just met," Tommy said, but he got an answer from someone else.

"Because she likes to adopt people just out of the blue," A new voice said as another person entered the room. They had navy blue hair with a bandana tied around it, blue eyes, a white T-shirt, some torn blue jeans, and some black shoes, "trust me, I'd know."

"Oh shoot, I guess I need to introduce the rest of the crew- Give me a minute!" Puffy suddenly dashed out of the room and through the doorway, leaving the man and Tommy to themselves.

"Sup kid, the name's Eryn. Eryn Locke. I've been a part of Puffy's crew for about a year now, how about you?" Eryn asked.

"Um, T-Tommy Innit? And I just got 'ere?" Tommy said in a slightly confused tone. Before he could get anymore questions in, Puffy came back and brought 4 other people in addition with Ghostbur.

"Toms!" Ghostbur cheered happily and floated to the blonde's side, "I'm glad to see you had a good nap."

"Psh, yeah. "Nap" is what that was." Tommy said with a roll of his eyes. He turned his attention back over to Puffy and the others.

"Alright Tommy, I want you to meet my crew! You've already met me and Eryn," Puffy pointed to Eryn, who was now sitting on a nearby barrel, "so I'll start with someone new. First off we have Tina Kitten," Puffy turned her hand towards a pink haired girl, similar to Niki, who wore a white gown with black baggy pants and some blue boots. Another note worthy thing about them it that they were clearly a cat hybrid, the white cat-like ears and tail were a dead give away. Tina gave Tommy a friendly wave, one that Tommy gave back. "Next up is Lizzie Axol," Tommy looked over and nearly jumped out of his chair. "Lizzie" was huge! She barely reached the roof just by standing up! Plus she was a strange looking creature, with pink hair, (okay what's with the pinkettes?), blue eyes, but no other clothing than that. That was probably because, starting from her neck downwards, her body was covered in black scales with a large tail curled behind her. She also sported some demonic horns that scraped against the ceiling.

"Hey," Lizzie said with a slight head nod.

"H-How do?" Tommy said nervously.

"Ah, scared of my appearance huh? Don't worry, everyone is," Lizzie said as she decided to sit down finally, with a solid foot now being in-between her horns and the wooden layer above her.

(Fuck. Shit. He'd messed up again!) "Prime dammit I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by-"

"Nah nah, you're good. At least you didn't freak out," Lizzie said with a bit of pride.

"Next up is Beautie Beatrix," Puffy points over to a woman with similarly puffy hair, with it being a black and blonde combo. She wore a black shirt with no sleeves, some dark green pants, and now shoes. She also sported some yellow wings on her back, ones that Tommy could barely make out.

"Yo. Also, just call me Beau, it's easier." "Beau" said.

"Yeah, alright, respect," Tommy said.

"Alright, and now for the final member!" Puffy announced, getting Tommy's attention back. Puffy gestured over to the woman next to her, who wore a simple blue shirt, a green backpack, some darker blue pants, black shoes, and a white hat that covered up some brown hair that could barely be seen. "Aimsey Underscore, Tommy Innit."

"W-What the fuck?" Tommy let it slip from his mouth, his shock taking over his senses. Underscore? Like- Like Tubbo Underscore? Like his best friend who exiled him whobetrayedhimwhothrewhimawaylikedirtliketrashlikeNOTHINGATALL-

"-Tommy?! Tommy!?" Tommy found himself shaken out of his thoughts by Eryn, who gave the boy a very concerned look. "Holly fuck, a-are you okay?"

"What'do mean is he okay? He obviously just had a panic attack," Puffy said, voice laced in concern.

"D-Did I do something wrong?" Aimsey asked, rubbing her arm with a guilty look on her face.

"N-No, you d-did nothing. I-Uh-Well- Fucking 'ell. I "knew" someone with the Underscore name," Tommy said. That got the attention of the people there.

"Wait, really? I have more family out there?" Aimsey asked.

"... Yeah, but he's a right bastard," Tommy said with a bit of resentment in his voice. He wasn't lying, but he was also stretching the truth a bit. "He's the reason why I ended up on that Prime forsaken beach in the first place," He mumbled to himself, just loud enough for everyone else to hear.

"Well damn, if that guy really did leave you to die then I'm not so sure I'm wanting to meet him," Aimsey said with a bit of anger in her voice.

"Say kid, I've got a question for you," Puffy suddenly pipped up, earning Tommy's interest, "how about you stay with us? I'm always happy to have a new member of the family." Family? That word sounded so foreign to Tommy now. The concept of have a close bond with anyone anymore seemed like a farfetched dream. And Tommy's learnt that some dreams are just meant to be dead and forgotten. But, it seemed just ever so close that he could leap up and touch it.

"... Ah fuck it, I've got nowhere else to go anyways," Tommy threw his hands up and attempted to stand, but fell back onto the bed. "Gah fucking 'ell I hate you so much legs."

"Yay!" Puffy cheered like a little kid, giggling to herself, "I wonder how many stories I have for kids your age?"

"I've finally gotten a fockin' brader. Feels good," Eryn said before placing his hand on his jaw and twisting his slightly, "Prime dammit I had that so much."

"Neato," Lizzie said. A woman of few words it seemed.

"Nice, another successful indoctrination," Beau said, giggling to herself at her obvious joke.

"I'll make up for whomever that other relative was, in fact I'll be better!" Aimsey said with a clear goal in mind to fill the void her family member had left.

Ghostbur hummed happily along the bed, just happy to be there.

And Tommy? Tommy couldn't help but look forward to the chaos that was going to be his life from now on.
