Work Text:

It was no secret that Jeongin loved nature. Is common knowledge that the sun have a strong connection to nature, and being the sun spirit, Jeongin was no different. He loved spending time on the outside, specially in his garden or some parks, where he could touch the grass, sit under a tree, enjoy the sun and the fresh air. He felt light, at peace.

When learning about what it meant to represent the spirits, he learned that the sun spirit is naturally drawn to the nature. Just like the moon spirit is drawn to the beach and oceans. It was part of them. So when he noticed that Han loved going to beach, no matter what time, he wasn't surprised. He actually liked going to beach with him, he saw how happy it made him, so Jeongin was happy as well.

When going to the beach, they would spend the day having fun, building sand castles, playing volleyball or frisbee, searching for sea shells. Since Han had a collection of them, they were always looking for new ones. But their favorite thing to do was watch the sunset. It was always a beautiful scene, always brought them peace and made them feel connected with each other and the universe. Watch the sun descending and meeting the ocean, the sky colors varying between a reddish orange and bright shades of yellow, with a light pinkish. The reflection of this special and unique scene on the water brought serenity. They liked to say it was a representation of their relationship. The moment the sun touches the ocean, it was like their first kiss. The stars shining in the sky above it was like the shine in their eyes when they saw each other for the first time. The wind reminded them of the butterflies they felt on their encounter.

The beach always brought them memories and feelings they never want to forget, so they loved going there, it was their safe place.

Jeongin wanted to do something special for Han since it was their one month anniversary. He wanted to do something that felt unique, that showed how much Jeongin loved and cared for Han. He knew the perfect place would be the beach. He wanted to make a little place so they could enjoy the sunset and have their usual talks. So when Han told him he had something to do, it was the perfect moment for him to organize everything.

He grab everything he needed and went to the beach. It was empty, not a single soul. That's perfect. He started building a small tent, put a blanket with some pillows and made a little roof with a white sheet and fixed it with some sticks. He also brought some snacks for them to eat while enjoying the view. Jeongin bought a pair of rings for them, one with a drawing of the sun and the other with the moon. He knew their bound was way more deeper then the representation of two rings, but he wanted to have this special thing with Han. Something for them to look and remember each other, to remind that they were always together.

When he returned home, he noticed Han was still out. He was gonna take Han to the beach at the end of the day, so he still had a some time to read a book while waiting for his husband to get back. He grab his book and went straight to the garden. It was his favorite place on the house. He was surrounded by nature, he could feel the wind on his skin and hear the birds singing. Their cat, Raven, decided to join him. She played on the grass and tried to catch some butterflies, but she soon laid down with Jeongin and enjoyed the sun. It was not a particular hot day, it had a small breeze that made the day more enjoyable, it was a nice weather.

He only noticed Han was back when he saw him approaching them. He was obvious hiding something behind his back, but Jeongin decided not to mention that.

"Hey love. What are you doing here? Thought you were busy." - He asked while putting his book aside and giving his husband full attention.

"Well, i was, but I'm not anymore." - He paused. He looked a little nervous. What was he planning? - "I want to give you something. It's nothing too big, but it's special."

Something special? Jeongin got curious. He was used to Han giving him small presents, like a nice necklace, a cute bracelet, some letters. He actually loved when Han wrote him letters. He always wrote the most kind and loving words that made Jeongin's heart flutter. But this looked more important.

"I'm sure it's perfect." - He said confidently. He knew that whatever it was, Han made it with love.

When Han gave him a bouquet of flowers, he was really surprised. Not because he never expected, but because of the flowers he chose. Red Camellias. They represented romance, the feeling of being in love with someone. He noticed a little note with the flowers and couldn't contain the smile that escape his lips.

"These flowers can't express all my love for you, but i think they're a pretty representation of it.

Happy one month anniversary! <3

☾ ☼"

He choose to represent his love through flowers. Jeongin's favorite thing. And the meaning behind the flowers could only say one thing.

"Red Camellias. Love, passion, romance." - Han choose to say he loved him for the first time through the flowers. - "Is this your way of telling that you love me for the first time?"

"Yeah...Why? Is it too bad? We can pretend it never happened and start over."

Bad? How could that be bad? It was amazing. Chosing to say such important thing through something that Jeongin loved just proved the message. Oh, Jeongin had fallen hard.

"It's perfect. I love it." - He said while closing the distance between them, giving Han a kiss. - "I love you too, Han."

He have been wanting to say those words for a while now, always waiting the perfect moment. And the moment was now. He noticed Han's cheeks getting red. He loved seeing that. Seeing how Han's body reacted to what he say and do. It was cute, how he get shy every time Jeongin called him a cute name, or how he would get nervous if Jeongin stared him in the eyes for too long. He was too precious, Jeongin felt the need to protect and take care of him, always making sure he was okay. He knew from the day they met, he would do anything for Han.

"I actually have something for you too."

Han looked surprised when he heard that. He seemed excited to know what it was.

"Really? What is it?"

Jeongin got up and grabbed Han's hand.

"C'mon, I'll show you."

He said while guiding Han to the place where he organized everything. The beach was pretty close to their house, so it was a quick walk. Their fingers intertwined while they walked just enjoying the breeze and the presence of each other.

"Okay, now close your eyes. We're almost there." - Jeongin said when they were approaching the beach.

"How am I gonna now where to walk if i close my eyes? What if i fall?" - Han asked. He looked genuinely worried, had a cute look on his face.

"I'll guide you. And i promise I won't let anything bad happen. Trust me." - Jeongin responded giving a affirming smile.

"Okay, guide me then." - Han said while closing his eyes and following him.

Jeongin guide him through the beach until they got on the spot where everything was settled. The place looked exactly how Jeongin left it, which was a good thing. He feared that the wind could've destroyed everything, but it was intact. Great. He pulled Han closer and turned his body so he would face the little tent.

"Okay, you can open your eyes now."

He was nervous to see how Han would react. He did this with the best intentions, so he hoped he would like it.

When Han opened his eyes, he stayed silent for a while. Just looking at it. He looked really surprised, in a good way. Jeongin could see a smile forming on his lips.

"You did this? For me?" - He asked facing Jeongin.

"Yeah. I know how the beach means a lot to you. It means a lot to me too. So i wanted to build a little place so we could watch the sunset together today. You like it?"

"If i liked it? Babe, i loved it! It's amazing!" - He said and pulled Jeongin to a hug. - "Thank you."

Whenever they hugged, they felt safe. Having each other in their arms felt like home. When they were close, they felt calm, just the presence of the other was enough to stop any worry they may have.

They sit on the blanket, while they eat the snacks and talked about everything they felt like talking.

"I have something else to give to you." - Jeongin said grabbing the little box on his pocket to give Han their rings.

"Yeah? What is it?" - Han asked turning his head to face Jeongin.

"It's just something that i wanted to give you for a while now. Something i want you to use so you can remember how much I love you and that i always will be by your side." - He explained while opening the the box, showing the rings.

"Is this...Our wedding rings?"

"Yeah, we didn't get one on our wedding so i thought about buying it now. They have little drawings of the sun and moon, so when I put my eyes on it, i knew they were the perfect choice. What do you think?"

"Innie... They're perfect. I loved it." - Han looked like he was about to cry. - "Let me put yours."

So they put the rings on each other's fingers and kissed. Jeongin could feel that warm and fuzzy feeling he always felt when kissing Han. He really had fallen for him.

They finished the day just enjoying the feelings that the wind and the waves made them feel, the memories it brought. Watching the sky change colors, the sun hid behind the horizon and the moon and stars shining bright in the night sky.

They felt home.
