Chapter Text
Her eyes never left her target. Slowly and surely, she added pressure to the trigger, squeezing it until the familiar suppressed pop and the all-known sound of screaming started.
She ducked back into her room, ignoring cries of terror and agony from the man’s wife. She carefully unscrewed the silencer from the end of the barrel and tucked it into the bag, clicking the safety on, then delicately laying her sniper inside as well.
She zipped the bag, slung it over her shoulder, and walked out of the hotel, disguised as an innocent guest leaving her overnight stay.
Her black boots sounded against the white marble floor, one hand holding the light grey duffle bag and the other tightly gripping a pistol inconspicuously strapped to her waistband, concealed by her tan zip-up.
The police sirens had started ringing, but she didn’t falter nor flinch. She merely walked outside into the bright sun and unlocked a black SUV, opened the door, and got inside, gently tossing her duffle onto the back seat. She undid her zip-up, leaned down slightly, and pressed the small radio button on her chest. Her strong voice rang clear.
“Target down. Mercy over and out,”
