The piercing sound of cars honking, speakers blasting, loudly singing, and tambourines clashing. The eye blinding lights of cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles' back-lights, as well as the flickering lights of litted various Christmas trees and houses all Christmas-themed.
"sigh" Amidst the heavy flow of traffic, the car that Dahyun and Sana in is stucked. Which causes Sana to fight for her eyelids to remain open if she wants to keep on mentally jotting notes on activities and places to go after resting in their Dorm.
"I'm staying until morning of 23rd !!" Sana chirps whilst raising her hand.
The other girls slowly stated what they have planned and promised on with their families, hence, the reason that they cannot stay and will be leaving on morning of 22nd. The girls apologized and promised to gift her souvenirs and will take her for a trip some time. Sana's smile visibly slowly turned into its neutral curve.
"I can stay with you, unnie" Dahyun stated.
"Aren't you also visiting and staying with your parents?" Sana automatically asked.
"I visited them last month and spent a lot of time with them too. I haven't made promises with them yet so I can use this time to stay with you before surprising them on the 24th."
Sana giddily hugged Dahyun since she now have a companion until before going home for a Christmas break.
After the seemingly deer-packed car trip, Sana and Dahyun managed to arrive at their Dorm and decided to rest first.
"Hmm..? What time is it?" Sana slowly blinked her eyes and reached out for her phone. Her phone screen displays:

"What?!!" Sana jolted up from her bed. It's nighttime which means, "The place I wanna go to might be SO crowded now!!!" She hastily run towards her closet to choose her outfit to change with.
Across the room Dahyun had already finished eating her snack when she heard her unnie. She thought that maybe Sana overslept than what she had planned, hence the shocked voice.
"Unnie, I prepared some snacks. Care to eat some before going out?" She asked after knocking on slightly opened door of her unnie.
"Ohemgee--!! You stattled me!" Sana playfully stated with a dress on one hand and a skirt on the other. "What were you sayin'? Sorry, I got lost on trying to find nice clothes to put on while wanting to get to the Christmas-themed store that I saw on our way here." She said while waving the clothes on her hands, with other clothes lying down the bed and some on the floor.
Dahyun chuckled lightly then said, "Was just asking if you wanna eat some snacks before heading out. You might get hungry before reaching your destination and its Christmas season so food stalls are most likely packed."
"gasps" Sana knows Dahyun is right. So she hurriedly placed the dress in front of her body then turned to Dahyun. "Does it look good?"
"Yeah. And add a scarf to keep your neck warm, if you'd like to do that that is." Dahyun said then headed back to the kitchen while Sana get dressed.
The fitted dress is a gradient of glittery bright pink with glittery pastel blue at the bottom pairing with the silver sparkles, the dress is almost reaching the knee in length, and the fabric is moderately light in thickness and is good be topped with a jacket or sweater especially in a freezing weather. It is in a full-length sleeves with both of the sleeves having a 1 yen-coin-sized crystal clear gem as a decorative (in a spot similar to how you'd put your watch on), and the sleeves matching the gradient color of the body of the dress.
Sana put on a smooth beige leather knee high boots to complement the dress with. She then picked up a white-knitted scarf with a little tofu cartoon embedded on the one end and gently put it on and went towards where Dahyun is.
"Does it look fine?" Sana asked with a smile.
Dahyun turn around from the table and took a good look at her unnie. Maybe a bit too long of a good look.
"The colors doesn't match..?" Sana asked after seeing Dahyun staring at her.
"Gorgeous. The colors are elegantly matched, unnie." Dahyun managed to spoke without stuttering. "Sorry, I just took a good look on how well the sparkles and colors of the dress, scarf, and boots complement each other."
If Sana had ears and tail then expect a super waggly tail and perked-up ears. Sana smiled brightly at the compliment then did a twirl like how Disney princesses do.
"Great! Then I'll just put on a sweater and I'll ready myself to vy for entrance to that Christmas-themed store!!" She said then dashed towards her room.
Aftwerwards, Sana is skipping her way to exit the dorm when she saw Dahyun's also dressed and waiting by the door. Dressed in her blue denim pants, seemingly white shirt underneath a long black padded jacket, and her white shoes. Oh, and a white beanie and white scarf.
"Heading out? Wanna go out together?" Sana asked when she's near Dahyun.
"Yeah. I thought that it'll be great to do something so I thought about baking cookies."
"Okay~!! Let's go, cutie!" Sana chuckles then linked their arms as they went outside.
"Hhmmp..." Crossed arms and pouty, Sana is sulking. The store she wants to go is overflowing with people outside lining up forming a zigzag line just to get in. And she's been in the line for almost 2 hours and for that wait she's now just almost -- almost near the store (maybe less than 30 people are ahead of her) and it's getting more cold-- or is the sweater not thick enough? Definitely the sweater's not enough for this spine chilling evening. She's getting envious of those coming out of it with hands full of bags from that store and happily laughing that they get to go in. She just stood there with her desire to go in that store and patiently wait until her turn.
Dahyun decided to part ways with Sana after her unnie had lined up and said that she can go and start her own venture for baking products. So she did. Luckily there are lots of baking product stores and although people are flocking in, the wait for the line both to enter the store and to line up for the counter is almost at most an hour each. As she exits the store she texted her unnie asking where she currently is so Dahyun can go to her.
Sana received the text and sent that she's still in line. With shivering hands, she clasped it toether, breathe into it,and rubbed it together to keep her hands warm. The line is moving but in a speed of a sleepy sloth walking. She's getting more impatient and cold so she continuously rubs her shoulders and arms for warmth.
"Unnie."
Sana's head automatically turn to look for the voice calling out, then saw Dahyun's eyebrows raised and face full of concern.
"Please hold this out for a while."Dahyun hold out her bags to Sana in which the latter obeyed.
Dahyun took her jacket off then swiftly but gently placed it on her unnie's back then grabbed her bag of baking products back from Sana's hands.
"... Thanks Dahyun. But aren't you cold?" Is all Sana can say since she's stuttering from the cold and from the unknown awkwardness in her.
"This long sleeve shirt is not that thin and I have a tank top underneath, so it's enough to keep me warm. Besides, I walked around a lot looking for these." She raised her hands holding the bags with a big victory smile.
After an hour or so of waiting they're finally inside the store. Sana excitedly skimmed through almost every section then hastily get every cute things she saw-- santa hat with a small deer figurine, eyeglasses with either deer antlers decorative on the endpieces or red nose of Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer hanging below the eyeglasses' bridge, animal plushies, disco light, and other things she's gonna wrap or put in the gift boxes that she also picked up from some section of that store.
The hunt for Sana's treasures ended when they managed to get a breathe of the cold air outside the store after lining up for the seemingly endless people that are in line for the counter.
"That was awesome!!!" Sana hops as they go towards where their car is parked. "There were so many things in there! I almost wanna buy nine copies of each item they have~"
"Well, luckily you didn't." Dahyun chuckled. "Because we'll left you here and just bring with us what you brought then maybe come back for you after we dropped those off. Maybe not." Then she laughed menacingly.
"Hey!" She dropped her shoulders in protest and stompped her foot on the ground playfully. "That's mean." She said with a huff and angry pouting lips.
When they arrived at their dorm they gave their managers food and gifts that they bought from the quick trip they did. After resting for a bit, they shared the treats they have and the snacks that Dahyun had before going out.
Dahyun then started preparing her tools and ingredients to bake her cookies. Sana volunteered to help so they're both in their aprons, hands busy in mixing the dry and wet ingredients, passing measuring cups and measuring spoons, and shaping their cookies. Next, after every steps they have done, they put it in the oven and waited. Finally, with the sound of ting! the cookies are ready. So, they put the tray in a rack to cool down, and after a while they gathered they icing and other toppings to decorate the cookies with.
"This one will be..." Sana said as she's outlined a Christmas tree with a green icing, topped it with sprinklers and a small star on top. "... A Christmas tree cookie badge!" She exclaimed.
"Looks cute, unnie~" Dahyun said while grinning. She just finished her puppy-faced cookie. "And you look adorable too."
Sana's head turned around when she heard it only to see Dahyun cooing her puppy cookie. "I thought you were referring to me when you said that adorable compliment." She teasingly asked in a I'm-kinda-disappointed-you-know tone.
The whole decorating cookie session was then filled with them playfully bickering and teading each other's cookie. After that, they put their cookies in either wraps or small boxes then chiled them in the refrigerator. They also eat some of it while they're decorating, only to realize that they're having a lot when they saw their rack run out of cookies.
They cleaned everything they used in the kitchen and went to lie down on the bed in Dahyun's room.
"I am happily exhausted." Sana said with a big happy sigh. "Well, except for the two hours plus of waiting in line that is." She playfully said with angry tone.
"At least you get to quench your curiosity for that store." Dahyun tried to console her unnie. "Oh, are you satisfied with what we accomplished unnie?" She asked as she turned her body to face Sana.
"Yeah. More than satisfied. I'm elated." She replied as she looked at the younger's eyes waiting for her answer. "Plus, it's like a date with you~" She teasingly said while scrunching her nose as her index finger pokes Dahyun's nose.
"Really? Then I guess I did good?" Dahyun teased back.
"Yes. Indeed a great girlfriend you are~" She laughed as she tries to tickle Dahyun's sides. But the latter wasn't laughing and is staring at her.
As in your friend that is a girl? Dahyun wanted to ask so she rephrased it not to sound silly, "As in girlfriends in a relationship?"
Sana's face heated up and she couldn't dare to move any oart of her body from what she heard. Then Dahyun realize what she just said and frantically started moving her hands in a it's-not-what-I-meant motion. But Sana just held her hands and tried not to look straight into the latter's eyes.
"If you'd... like that is." Her statement came out as a whisper. Only enough to be heard by the two of them. Her heartbeat is erratic and hard, she thinks that Dahyun might be hearing the thumps.
Dahyun slowly walked out of the bed and rummages through her bag, back facing Sana. This made Sana to sit uptight and rethink about what she just said. Is Dahyun texting her family now and go to them even in this ungodly hour? Is Dahyun going to pull out a bible and rosary outta her bag and tell me this is just a confusion? Thoughts are rambling inside her head as she already closed her eyes when she saw Dahyun's back ready to turn to face her.
"Look, I'm sorry that I made you uncomfortable..." Her words faded as she saw Dahyun holding out a mistletoe above their heads.
"Uhm, what do they do again when there's a mistletoe..?" Dahyun is trying hard to supress a chuckle and her stutter but her shaky arm fails her.
Sana was shocked. But happy. But shocked. Hapily shocked. She's still unsure if they're on the same wavelength so, "They kiss. On the lips, most of the time." She said while moving closer to Dahyun and held the latter's arm holding the mistletoe to put it down gently.
"So, can I kiss you unnie?" Dahyun said while looking intently on her unnie's eyes.
"Only if on my lips. Since couples are the ones that do that most of the time." Sana decided to use this as a final test to see if they're clicking or she's just assuming things. "But you don't have to you know." And she ended her response with a light chuckle not to make Dahyun feel obliged to do so.
Dahyun's lips met hers when the younger cupped her cheeks with one hand and with the other hand lightly put on her waist. Sana froze. She can't believe it. She's so happy that she thought she might be dreaming. Alas, she broke into laughter when the mistletoe in Dahyun's hand brushed on her side.
Dahyun was bamboozled but saw her hand and the mistletoe on her hand, so she figured out the cause of the laughter. She chuckles along. When Sana's calmed down they both sit on the side of the bed.
"Are we girlfriends now?" Sana asked bravely. "As in in a relationship?" But didn't forgot to tease.
"If you'd like, that is." Dahyun shyly answered.
"Hey!" Sana playfully slapped Dahyun's shoulder. "You're teasing me!"
"I'm not?" She innocently and confusedly replied, then realized. "Oh! But I mean it though!"
"Fine, fine. My girlfriend." Sana said with the last part fading. "Why do you have a mistletoe, by the way?"
"The store you lined up for hours. I wanna decorate it somewhere here in the building."
"For us?" Sana teasingly asked.
"For prank. When the members come back after the vacation. But it came handy." Dahyun shyly said the last part.
"It sure did. My dubu." She gave Dahyun a peck on the cheek. "Merry Christmas, my Dubu."
"Merry Christmas, my unnie."
And they slept with smiles plastered on their faces.
