Burning from the Inside

Summary:

Rudy couldn't take it anymore. Couldn't take the heat and the smoke in his lungs, reaching up to drag Alejandro’s face down, so he could hide his own in the man’s neck.

He took a deep, shuddering breath in, just to get the smell of the fire out of his nose, out of his mind. What surprised him was the sound Alejandro made, like he needed Rudy just as much as Rudy needed him.

Notes:

Minor MW2 spoilers. Takes place right after Alejandro pulls Rudy out of the building Hassan tried to burn down with him still inside.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Alejandro and Rudy burst out of the house, the building crumbling and burning behind them. Rudy knew he was injured, knew that it was just adrenaline that kept him feeling numb to the pain. Fuck, he had been dead. Had all but fucking laid there until arms grabbed him, had dragged him out. Arms that still held him up.

Another blast sounded from behind them and Rudy stumbled, Alejandro ripping out curses as they tumbled together onto the grass.

Somewhere in the distance men shouted, but none of that mattered. Alejandro’s hands were on him, feeling, looking for injuries, calling out his name with a worried expression on his face.

How could he be worried? Just a moment ago he had been dead, had announced it into the radio. Rudy wanted to reach up, to wipe off the soot that clung to his cheek and to smooth out the frown that creased his forehead. Thanks to him, Rudy was alive, blood pounding through his head as he struggled to get air into his lungs, gasping in deep, burning breaths.

“Rudy!” Alejandro called again, leaning across him. Their hips connected, a firm thigh between his legs.

Rudy closed his eyes momentarily, sucking in another deep lungful, letting it out in a slow shudder.

Hands were on his face now. Rudy reached up, taking hold of Alejandro’s wrist, keeping it there, murmured praise washing over him when he did.

His brain told him he had to get up and move, to get away from the fire. It was so close and so hot, the heat of it burning at him even from across the way.

The thigh hitched up a little higher and Rudy couldn’t stop his groan, getting a murmured apology when he did. Alejandro shifted, went to untangle himself only to be stopped by shaking hands, Rudy pulling him closer instead.

Alejandro looked at him questioningly, but Rudy was beyond answering him, just knew he needed another moment of this closeness. All that excess energy was pumping through him, fueling him. The dirt dug uncomfortably into his back, weapons and equipment poking into his side, but none of that mattered.

It happened first by accident, Alejandro shifting against him in a way that sent heat straight down to his cock. His eyes opened, locking onto Alejandro, who had noticed it too. Rudy’s hand tightened in his shirt, holding him there, neither of them moving.

Alejandro moved again, slower this time, purposefully. A thumb ran gently over his cheekbone and Rudy shuddered against it, wondering if he looked just as wrecked by the intimacy as he felt.

So slowly, Alejandro shifted again. Testing, as if worried he might scare Rudy away, like Rudy wasn’t burning from the inside the same way the fire set ablaze the night sky around them.

Something in him snapped and Rudy’s eyes shut, reaching up to drag Alejandro’s face down, so he could hide his own in the man’s neck. He took a deep, shuddering breath in, just to get the smell of fire out of his nose, out of his mind.

Alejandro let him, rocking his hips into Rudy properly now. Rudy could feel a light chafe from their uniforms until his pleasure took over, numbing it. Despite the barrier, neither made a move to remove them, too desperate to separate themselves.

Hands left Rudy’s face, supporting his side, his hips. Rudy shifted, letting Alejandro maneuver him so that he could place himself fully between Rudy’s thighs, only fueling Alejandro along as Rudy wrapped his legs around his waist.

Alejandro seemed to need Rudy the same way Rudy needed him. He couldn’t quite make his body work the way he needed it to, letting Alejandro take the lead, grateful that the man felt his same desperation. Couldn’t be sure if the sweltering heat he felt was from the fire or from Alejandro’s body, maybe both. He buried his face back into Alejandro’s neck, and when he bit at his own lip, he could taste the man there.

“Promise me a next time,” he heard Alejandro say. “Promise me I’ll get to do this again, properly.”

Rudy felt dizzy, caged between the ground and the body above him, nothing short of desperate. He needed more friction, his cock aching and his hips rolled relentlessly, selfishly, for his own pleasure, against whatever purchase he could find. His arms circled Alejandro’s ribs, pulling the man in closer, hands gripping into the fabric of his jacket. He had never needed anyone more in his life, would have given Alejandro anything.

Alejandro laughed, low in his ear. It was deep, unhinged, telling Rudy that he was just as frenzied by their proximity.

“Fucking look at me,” Alejandro bit out, drawing Rudy out.

The man had his hands fisted into Rudy’s belt loops, fucking into Rudy almost bruisingly through their clothing. His forehead pressed to Rudy’s, eyes fixed to his mouth. They breathed the same air, smelled the same smells, shared the same pleasure. It was intoxicating.

Rudy felt like he couldn’t breathe, just trying desperately to hold on as heat pooled into his gut. When he came, the noises he made were strangled, punched out, eyes closing as he panted through his orgasm. He could feel Alejandro wasn’t far behind, ran a hand up to squeeze at the back of his neck.

Fuck, he was oversensitive, letting the man continue to grind into him, mumbling praises of his own, trying to push him along. Alejandro looked frustrated, eyes closing. Rudy reached down, fingers fumbling to get between their bodies, to work open his belt and pants.

Shouts sounded, getting closer. Emergency services wailing in the distance.

Alejandro groaned, hips picking up speed, eyes opening to lock onto Rudy’s.

Rudy couldn’t help the tiny whimper, shoving his hand down, trying desperately to get into Alejandro’s pants.

Alejandro caught his wrist, stilling him. Rudy wanted to beg him, to continue before it would be too late, before they were surrounded by their support. Alejandro shook his head though, expression turning soft, hips slowing to a stop. He looked pained, devastated, but slowly he untangled himself from Rudy, kneeling between his outstretched legs. The evidence of their activities only barely visible, just another spot on a camo uniform and the tenting another part of bulky equipment, some still heaving chests.

The look in Alejandro’s eyes told him it was okay, and Rudy let himself be pulled up into a sitting position. A thumb brushed once at his cheek, eyes lingering on his lips. When the shouts were finally within range, men in uniforms rounding the corner, Alejandro let his hand drop.

A paramedic dropped down next to them, and suddenly it was like there were a hundred hands on him, people getting in his face to ask him questions. Alejandro quieted them, slowed them down and stayed with him as they patched him up enough to move.

All the while, Alejandro looked at him. Like it had been Rudy who had saved him from that burning building, and not the other way around.
