Chapter Text
Yuta couldn't sleep. Like always. His mind never stops racing because he does have a habit of overthinking things that may or may not be relevant in his life. He decided to calm his brain down by getting up and making himself a honey pumpkin tea. That usually works to ease him. He walked slowly to his kitchen and is about to grab his mug when he heard a familiar voice passing his ear alongside the light breeze. He forgot to lock his kitchen window so the air finds its way inside carrying that soft yet haunting melody that gave Yuta instant goose bumps. That voice never fails to mesmerize the elf.
So he changes his mind and decided to leave his house to get to that voice. A little late night stroll won't hurt, he grabs his cape and satchel then proceed to lock every access to his humble tree house and floats down from the heights landing on the main path.
It doesn't take long for him to arrive at the thin line of sand and saw a figure with long black hair sitting right at the edge near the riplling water. It's black shimmering tail folded sideways making it clear to see from behind. The siren sombering melody made the night felt like a scene from a gothic theatre play that the Jesters like to perform every friday in the playhouse.
Yuta smiled and approached the creature by floating so he didn't startle him. He landed himself quietly on a rock beside Atsushi and sat down while watching the siren still singing whilst closing his eyes. The elf changes his gaze towards the bright sparkling sky and his eyes glimmers at the sight of such beauty. His mouth agaped as he focuses on one bright glimmering dot in the sky that seems to call upon him.
Atsushi stops his singing and looked at his elfen friend who just arrived. He couldn't help but let out a small giggle as he saw the elf so in awe looking at the sky. Yuta snapped out of his trance to see the siren smiled at him.
"Fancy seeing the stars?". Atsushi asked leaning closer.
"Yeah, that one is the brightest". Yuta pointed to the bright dot that somehow gets even brighter than before.
"Mother star took a liking on you". Atsushi said while smiling.
"Mother star?". Yuta asked.
"Yes Mother star, Toll said if you're stargazing and you found yourself focusing on the brightest star at the present night that means Mother star liked you and you will be blessed with good luck". Atsushi explained while scooting closer to the elf.
"Ah i see..". Yuta nodded
The both of them continue to stare at the so-called Mother Star until they're interrupted by rustling noises coming from the forest. A figure appeared out of the bushy greens and it was the aforementioned Toll, an infamous witch and astrologer of the land. He seemed to be followed by a taller and skinnier figure with horns and fuzzy hair.
"Ah, look who's gifted with long life". Yuta retorted.
Sakurai giggled.
Toll smiled. "Well, I'm glad that i came here so you both couldn't talk about me behind my back any further".
Yuta and Atsushi let out a small laugh. Atsushi taps his hand to a rock on his right signaling for the witch to sit. Toll slowly walked to the rock with the satyr weakly drags his feet behind him. Before Toll sits he carefuly lift the grip of Imai's hand on his shoulder and puts the goat down to lay on Atsushi's tail, Imai sighed at the soft landing and the cold dampness of it relaxed him. Atsushi proceed to caress Imai's fuzzy hair making the goat even more sleepy than before.
"What do you both do until Imai is that tired?". Yuta asked.
"Oh nothing, he visited my hut in this already dazed state. I think he had too much fun with the forbidden flower again..". Toll explained.
"You mean cannabis?". Yuta replied while side eye-ing the sleepy goat.
Atsushi just chuckles and ruffles Imai's hair making the satyr groan and shift around. Imai ended up facing the ocean and shifting his gaze to the sky. He caught a constellation.
"Virgo..."
"Hm?". Atsushi leans down to hear the goat better.
"The constellation virgo...". Imai speaks a little louder and trace the distant star formation with his finger.
Toll smiled seeing the mentioned zodiac. Yuta looks around for another constellation but caught a very interesting formation in the sky.
"That looked like a kite going upwards". Yuta pointed.
"Ooh.. You've found Ursa Minor, that's interesting... Two constellations at once". Toll remarked excitedly.
"What about that one..". Atsushi pointed at a formation.
"That looked like a smiling face"
"You're right... The sky is smiling at us". Toll looked at the formation with Yuta and the both of them felt a sense of relief and comfort.
"We should name it... The constellation". Imai spoke half whispering stealing the attention of the other three.
"What if we name it Nyx"
A voice came from behind them showing a tall centaur staring at the sky too. The others are a bit surprised seeing the main hunter of the Centaureans appeared in such uncanny hours.
"Hide? That's rare of you to come around the shore line". Toll remarked.
"Well i was just about to go back home but i heard distant talking and recognize your voice. Hope I'm not a bother for joining". Hide replied getting closer.
"Of course not, and i like the name idea.. Nyx". Toll said as he go back looking at the smiling stars.
"The goddess of night". Atsushi softly speak while looking up with big doe eyes.
The others go back to looking at the rest of the glimmering night sky admiring the creation of Goddess Nyx. Truly is a masterpiece. As they proceed to point out other stars or constellations or any other silly formations Atsushi remembered about how Yuta is chosen by Mother star.
"Toll". Atsushi called making the astrologer looked at him.
"Yuta are liked by Mother star". Hearing that, Toll's face lit up.
"Really? Whoa.. That's so lucky of you Yuta-chan you're gonna receive so much good luck!". Toll spoke excitedly.
The others smilied at the elf making Yuta a bit embarrased.
"I envy you Yuta. I might need that luck more for my hunt tomorrow". Hide teased.
The others laugh it off.
Yuta felt very happy receiving such warmth from his friends who somehow manage to gather by fate at the same spot. Seeing his friends laugh and have fun doing something as simple as stargazing really made him feel calm and peaceful.
As they continue to fool around through the night, one by one they all started to feel tired and sleepy. Yuta sat on the sand and leans his head against the rock he previously sat at while Toll and Hide leans to the same big rock at the right side of Atsushi.
Looking at his tired friends, Atsushi decided to sing his previous melody that attracts Yuta as a lullaby.
"La la la la la la la~" (Kiss me goodbye melody but slower and softer).
And their night ended with a bliss at the edge of the watery bed.
