Chapter Text
Hunger surged through the vampire as the scent of forest and something he couldn't quite place permeated his nose. Honey, perhaps? He didn't like honey. Too sweet, and belonging to those usually too soft and mushy for his taste. But, he was willing to make an exception, just this once. Mainly because he was too fucking hungry to find something better.
He sniffs the air, and lets his nose lead him to his midnight snack.

Eren quickened his pace. He should have been home hours ago but he lost track of time at the office. Hopefully his boss wouldn't check the key card logs again. Last time she caught him working stupid hours, a shoe had been launched at his head and his favourite coffee beans hidden for a week. The shoe he could forgive. The coffee beans? That was just torture. What would she do this time for punishment? A public whipping? Force him to work next to Jean for a day? A whole week?!
As he considered multiple outlandish punishments, he failed to notice a ghost-like figure sneaking towards him. He also failed to notice his sneakers were feeling a little bit loose.
As a pale hand reached towards him, itching to wrap slim, cold fingers around his neck, Eren tripped over his untied shoelace. Landing with his face pressed into cold grass, he considers just sleeping here tonight. This is all just too much effort.
—
Above Eren, a pale hand hangs in the space his neck previously occupied.
The vampire pauses, looking down at his victim. Or, not victim, he supposes. He tripped himself over, that's his own fault. He considers continuing anyway, but feeding from someone incapacitated by their own stupidity sours the moment a little bit.
If a hunt goes well, he will grab them by the neck and thrust them up against the nearest clean wall. The victim will see his pale face, his silver eyes, the glint of his fangs in the moonlight. They would be frozen in fear, letting him pierce their neck as their mouths fall open in a silent scream…
This hunt, however. He didn't know what the fuck this was. Maybe he will see if young man was okay, and try salvage some of the ruined mood. There was a superbly clean wall nearby, it would be a shame to waste such a rare find.
He drops his hand, and rearranges his face into the look of a concerned fellow human, ready to do sympathetic human things.
"Oi. Dumb ass. Are you alright?"
