Buck’s parents were coming to visit. They hadn’t visited in years. Not since that whole saviour baby fiasco. A lot has happened in those years. He and Eddie finally got their heads of their asses and got together much to Carla and Chris’ delight but to everyone's surprise Ravi as well but Buck was worried. The last time Margaret and Phillip visited he relapsed hard. He really didn’t want to do that again. But at least this time he had his partners and his family to help him through

The minute Buck received that code he knew the Buckley parents were in town and that always puts him in a bad mood. Fortunately he got that message at the firehouse so he had his family around to catch him when he fell..
5 minutes after he received that message they started calling and messaging him asking to meet up and he launched his phone across the loft shattering it when it landed.
“Ev?” Eddie spoke his voice full of concern and love
“Margaret and Phillip are in town,” Buck replied coldly. Eddie just stood up and hugged him no further explanation needed because Eddie knew Buck arguably better than Eddie knew Eddie
“Are they coming here, do you know? Do I need to call Athena?” Bobby asked with just as much concern and love as Eddie, just a different type of love.
Buck shrugged because he generally didn’t know “Probably to both,” Buck mumbled into Eddie's shoulder.
The minute Buck replied, the aggravating voice of Margaret Buckley filled the firehouse “Evalyn Buckley!” The voice yelled and Buck visibly flinched at the use of his deadname
“Maggie!” Chim yelled back
“That is not my name and you know it Howard.” She spoke trying to make her voice sound authoritative
“And Evan’s isn’t Evalyn,” Hen joined in
“That’s the name we gave her therefore it’s her name,” Phillip spoke
Buck just stood up to leave because he could not be arsed to deal with the crap they’re spewing “Evalyn Buckley you sit your ass down right now young lady, and grow your hair out for goodness sake you look like a boy,” Margret spoke as Maddie came running up the stairs out of breath
“Margret, Phillip why are you at Evan’s work, I told you to stay at the dispatch centre,” Maddie spoke with a hint of panic in her voice
“Don’t you be filling her head with this ridiculous nonsense as well,” Phillip spoke.
Whilst this was going on Buck managed to slip away from his sperm donor and birth giver Eddie following but still giving Buck space.
“Eds,” Buck spoke voice completely broken
“I know love, do you want to go home, I’m sure Bobby will understand,”
“No I want to stay here I want them to go,”
“I know, I’m sure Athena will be here any second to make sure they leave, would you like a hug?”
“No because I know I will really break down and I don’t want that,”
“Okay, what do you need, but I’m not leaving you alone”
“Just sit with me please,”
“Okay,”
That's where they sat for 10 minutes. They just sat together knowing that Buck needed someone's presence.
Athena strolled into the station like she normally does when Bobby messages but this time the atmosphere was tense and Athena could see Buck sitting on the floor with Eddie nearby, she could also hear the Buckley parents screaming for ‘Evalyn’ honestly Athena wanted to punch the Buckley parents but she knew she could get her badge and rank stripped as she was in uniform so she had to be as professional about this as she could.
Athena made it to the top of the stairs and she took the sight in in front of her, Hen had her airpods in undoubtedly listening to a podcast, Bobby trying to get the Buckley parents to leave his station as well as Maddie and Chimney, there was also Ravi who was frantically messaging undoubtedly Eddie making sure Buck was okay,
“I’m going to have to ask you to leave this firehouse,” Athena spoke so coldly it made a cold shiver make its way through the station
“You can’t make us do anything, we have a right to be where we want it is a free country after all,” Margret spoke smugly
“You’ve also hurt my family and are stopping this station working smoothly therefore you are disrupting first responders for no reason so again I’m going to have to ask you to leave,” Athena spoke again in a cold manner
“All we want to do is speak to our daughter and we will leave,” Phillip said
“Maddie seems pretty willing to speak to you outside,” Athena spoke
“We don’t want to speak to Maddie we want to speak to Evalyn so she’ll stop being petty and speak to us,” Margaret spoke starting to have a tantrum
“I don’t believe you have a daughter called Evalyn,”
“Yes we do you let me talk to her right now,”
“One second,” Athena spoke, “Buck are you willing to speak to your parents,” Athena spoke over to Buck who was still sitting on the floor but sitting closer to Eddie and Ravi had at some point made his way to them both and was sitting on Bucks other side
“No, no I do not want to speak with them,” Buck spoke back
“See I can’t force Evan to speak to you so please leave,”
“We will be back,” both Margret and Phillip said as they exited the station which was very ominous but no one really cared just as long as Margaret and Phillip were gone.
Everyone left Buck, Eddie and Ravi alone knowing full well that Buck would come to the rest of them when he was ready. Athena had to go back on shift because she told the captain it was a family emergency, she technically wasn’t lying that the whole firehouse is her family.
It had been basically the whole shift of Eddie stroking Buck’s arm and Ravi just speaking random facts and Buck chiming in with his own, Bobby had asked for floaters because he knew Buck would be in no state to work and Eddie and Ravi would insist on staying with him.
“I’m sorry,” Buck mumbled
“Why are you Sorry Babe?” Ravi asked very confused because he had nothing to be sorry for
“I shut down and I really thought I could handle them coming until they got here,” Buck spoke so softly you honestly wouldn't be able to hear him unless you were listening to him.
“You have nothing to be sorry for love, you handled your parents coming down better than I handled mine,” Eddie spoke and that made Buck chuckle
“Can we go home?” Buck asked
“Sure love, I’ll go let Bobby know,” Eddie answered easily and he got up and made his way into the loft
“We could watch a movie when we get home,” Ravi suggested and that’s exactly what they did.
All 3 of them exited the station, Eddie and Ravi supporting Buck the whole time because they knew the minute they let go Buck would drown, they got into bed and snuggled into each other and ended up watching Tangled because even though he would never admit it, that was Buck’s favourite film.
