Chapter Text
George and Will were just mates. He was a touchy guy, he made comments that made George feel dizzy and George definitely thought about snogging him senseless at least three times a day. You know, best friend stuff. Bros being bros. They were both straight and neither were in denial about anything. George normally repressed any sort of not-so-hetero thought towards Will, brushing it off. But he started to realise in a podcast shoot that he couldn’t do that for much longer.
“Alright lads, who’s ready for this week’s nutty news!”
“Go on!” James encouraged.
“Man from Tennessee sets alight an IHOP because they didn’t give him enough syrup. Perfectly valid, in my opinion!”
“Will, mate, there’s zero chance that’s true.” Alex giggles.
“It’s nutty news, it doesn’t have to be true, it just has to be a good talking point.” George retorts.
“Wait, George?”
“Yeah?
“Are you from Tennessee?”
“What? No, of course I’m not you actual wanker.”
“...’cause you’re the only ten I see!” Will laughed at his awful pickup line.
And thank fuck for the mask, because George was so red it was comparable to Alex’s 2016 brush with hair dye. It’s funny, because that stupid chat-up line that was 100% a JOKE, was all George needed to become fully smitten. He felt stupid to be so affected over what was just a stupid throwaway line designed to embarrass him. He’d never been gladder to wrap up a recording in his life.
