Musings of Stardust
Childhood’s alleys of a bygone life,
No longer occupy my mind,
For they are no more for me to find.
The memories vanished a long time ago,
As all turned to dust like stars aglow.
Holding onto my sole kin among stars,
I set sail for a broken dream,
So that we may catch a single gleam.
The light of a hearth that will never be,
Is there a place in this endless sea?
The skies we crossed are now tales,
Beautiful memories to recall,
In our deep slumber as we fall,
And at dawn I awaken all alone,
In this vast world so unknown.
A trail of footprints inscribed on the stars,
Among them a special memory,
Of a meeting on a balcony.
Golden leaves carried by winds,
Whisperings of karmic sins.
Lanterns of hopes and wishes arise,
A fleeting spectacle of light,
Budding emotions on this long night.
A gentle reminder is brought to mind,
Is there a home for me to find?
Yet in your arms,
Your warm embrace,
I can’t help it,
But think this is my place.
Musings of Wind
Golden wings on a sea of clouds,
A moment of weakness, fate sealed.
Innocents fall and blood is spilled.
Sweet dreams forced to devour,
Their aftertaste; bitter and sour.
Chains of agony are broken by mercy,
Yet no freedom is free, it comes at a cost.
Now bound by decree I vanquish the lost,
To repay debts, to atone for sins,
Until karma finally wins.
At last the sun sets on this ancient era,
And with it legends arise,
Of old companions’ demise.
Wherefore am I here surviving the night,
Away from the path towards the twilight?
Carrying the burden, the toll I must pay;
Lingering hatred, fear, despair,
Poisonous thoughts, pain and tear.
Among them a voice ever so sweet,
Calling my name on endless repeat.
Inscribed on lanterns of glittering dreams,
Are the mortals’ fragile desires.
Exquisite colours of fleeting fires.
Golden eyes of blinding light near,
Looking at a weapon of yesteryear.
Yet in your arms,
Your gentle caress,
Perhaps I, too,
Deserve happiness.
