Work Text:
Wednesday was suddenly woken up by the sound of almost silent whimpers coming from the opposite side of the room. Usually she would go back to sleep, as it was like music to her ears, however since it was Enid she couldn’t. She never could for some reason that still eluded her.
She reluctantly got out of her bed and slowly moved to the colourful side of their shared room. “Enid? What’s wrong?” She asked with what she could only describe as too much emotion.
Enid shot upright, startled. “Wednesday! I’m sorry if I woke you up. I-” She was interrupted by a sharp pain in her chest that once again caused her to whimper. Wednesday raised her eyebrow which told her she was at least mildly concerned. “I don’t know what’s going on. I’ve been feeling weird all evening. I’ve heard people say that this is what it feels like to wolf out but firstly it’s not even a full moon and secondly…” She pointed at herself with both hands hoping that would remind Wednesday.
Wednesday seemed to be in thought for a moment and before she was able to ask her next question the girl across from her winced as she was overtaken by that pain again. She tried to reach out but before she could there was the sound of cracking bones as Enid began wolfing out.
Wednesday found the transformation oddly mesmerising but instinctively backed up. She knew werewolves were extremely dangerous. There was a reason for the school's lupin cages existing. She was confident that she would be able to take one in a fight should it come down to it but she was rather unprepared. Also, it was Enid, she would rather not hurt the one person she tolerated around here.
As she reached the other side of the room she started to think of what was happening. How was this possible? It wasn’t a full moon, first of all and secondly… IT WAS ENID! She vaguely remembered that she once read a book about werewolves and that there was a passage on unusual transformations. It mentioned that on rare occasions werewolves could turn without a full moon. Something about being in a very emotional state of something. She had stopped reading after emotions were mentioned.
Wednesday softly gasped as she beheld the majestic werewolf across the room. She thought that Enid looked surprisingly beautiful in this state, even with her fur looking like cotton candy.
Enid heard the gasp and instantly turned to face its source. She jumped down from her bed and just stared at the girl across the room from her before growling.
Wednesday knew she had to do something and she was debating whether she should just grab one of her chains and restrain her until morning or if she should do something incredibly stupid that could get her killed. Well… both options posed a risk but one was certainly more stupid and could definitely end in death as she’d be unarmed.
She weighed her options and decided on the stupid one. “If I die then death by Enid is not a bad way to go.” She thought to herself before slowly taking a few steps toward the murderous beast that was still growling at her instead of making a quick dash for her chains.
When she was about halfway, now in the middle of the room, she reached out her hand with a look that was 100% too soft for her. “Enid? It’s me, Wednesday. Remember? How about you calm down and then I won’t have to do anything that we might regret in the morning.”
Enid stopped growling and tilted her head a little as if she was thinking. “Kind of like a puppy.” Wednesday thought. Said puppy was now slowly moving towards the unmoving girl until she was in range to sniff her.
It only took two seconds at most and before she knew Wednesday was on the ground… Enid had in all her excitement when she realised who it was, jumped on her causing her to fall with the wolf now firmly on top of her. She looked up to find Enid looking down at her, her eyes hauntingly beautiful like this. She also noted that while usually being beneath a werewolf would be rather unpleasant, Enid was taking special care not to hurt her.
The trapped ravenette sighed. “If you wanted a hug you could’ve just asked. No need to wolf out.” She said, faking annoyance. This couldn’t possibly get any worse…
Enid seemed to smile before she started licking Wednesday’s face. Yep, it could get worse.
While the Addams didn’t mind the ball of fur on top of her she did mind being covered in its saliva. “ENID! Enough! This ends now if you don’t want to be my new rug come morning.”
The wolf seemed to understand and stopped licking before getting off of Wednesday while letting out a few noises that may or may not have broken her cold heart. Okay, she felt bad now… great… one of the rare times that happened.
“Wait here.” She commanded and then promptly retreated to the bathroom to clean up.
When she returned outside she found Enid laying down in front of the door and looking at her excitedly when she noticed her, tail wagging and all. “You really are just an overgrown puppy” Wednesday remarked with a smirk while she could swear the lycan in front of her just smiled. “Come.”
Wednesday grabbed a few pillows and blankets before placing them on the ground in the middle of the room and laying down. She looked at Enid and patted the ground next to her. “If you’re going to be like this all night then we might as well get some sleep. You don’t want to be the reason I don’t get my much needed rest and murder everyone tomorrow morning.”
Enid laid down next to her and Wednesday quickly found that she didn’t need those blankets. Enid was like a personal space heater and the more she thought about that she found that she rather enjoyed the warmth.
The pair quickly dozed off until a few hours later Wednesday woke up only to find that Enid was now flush against her, shivering and most importantly naked.” She grabbed the blankets she still had nearby and covered her roommate before wrapping an arm around her for extra warmth... That's what she told herself anyway. Enid smiled in her sleep.
The next morning Enid opened her eyes to find herself face to face with beautiful brown eyes and before she knew what was going on decided to kiss the girl they belonged to. Wednesday was surprised at first but quickly found herself enjoying it and returning the kiss.
When they separated after a few seconds Enid finally realised what had happened and screamed while trying to get away but there was something holding her firmly in place… Wednesday had her arm wrapped around her waist.
“Oh my god. Wednesday! I am so sorry. I don’t know why I did that. I thought I was still dreaming.” She finished rambling out as fast as she could before pressing a hand to her mouth.
“Still dreaming?” Wednesday smirked. “Dreaming of kissing me?”
The blush on Enid’s face was only growing every second. “Erm… No?” She said, looking away, embarrassed.
Wednesday seemed lost in thought for a while. Maybe this could explain Enid’s sudden transformation, she was being more affectionate than usual… even for her. Stealing glances left and right thinking Wednesday wouldn’t notice, stammering a lot more and generally being even more weird around her. It all started to make sense and would explain the more emotional state required for such an unusual transformation.
This was a most welcome development. One which she had not anticipated but she’d be lying if she said she didn’t like it. She brought her hand up to Enid’s chin, turning her back to look at her before kissing her again.
This one was much more gentle and they both briefly got lost in the feeling. Both realising that this was how they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
They broke apart once more and shared a brief look that said more than a thousand words ever could. It didn’t last long however as Enid finally realised that she was completely naked. She looked down. “Oh my god. I…”
“Relax Enid.” She was cut off. “It’s nothing I haven’t seen before.” Wednesday remarked with a gentle smile hoping it would reassure Enid that she didn’t need to be embarrassed.
It seemed to work as the blonde relaxed however she quickly started tearing up afterwards.
Wednesday was about to ask before she explained “Man, I loved those pyjamas.”
As if on cue, Thing came in through the window dragging a package behind him. He dropped it off next to the pair before retreating back through the window to give the girls their privacy. Wednesday picked it up before handing it over. “Open it.”
Enid did as instructed only to find an exact match of the destroyed pyjamas. “How on earth?” She thought but before she could think too much about it she started crying. Wednesday had sent Thing out to get her a replacement because she knew how much she loved them. She’d been paying attention that time Enid rambled endlessly how much she loved them. She cared! All this time!!!
She was even more surprised when she found herself wrapped in Wednesday’s arms again while she was gently playing with her hair trying to comfort her. To say that she didn’t immediately crush the smaller girl in a hug would be a lie. She had probably never hugged anyone as hard as this.
“You have no idea how much I love you.” Enid blurted out in between sobs mixed with laughter.
Wednesday laughed… She LAUGHED! Enid could die happily now. The sound was that of angels however she wouldn’t go into cardiac arrest until she heard these four words.
“I love you too.”
*Gibberish*. And all Wednesday could do was laugh more.
