You're not sure how long you've been crying. It must've been a long time because your throat hurt, felt dizzy, and also tired.
You didn't want to believe it but it was happening. When you married your cousin Aemond you truly thought he shared feelings for you. He certainly took a long time courting and stealing your heart, and now it felt as if he was stomping on it repeatedly.
Aemond was bringing women home, going to brothels, even going as far as leaving KingsLanding. And it wasn't just women no, it was older women.
They always said when you marry someone not for love they just pump you full of children and once they're satisfied they leave. You felt used, confused, even insecure. Those women made you doubt yourself. Were you not pretty enough? Experienced enough? Did he truly hate you? The thoughts just made you cry harder.
"Mama." You heard the small voice of your firstborn son Rhaegar. You wiped your eyes and turned around to see your little boy.
"Whats wrong my darling?" You say and bend down to his height.
"Aerys cry." You were so caught up in crying you didn't hear your second born wailing. You smiled at Rhaegar and stood up, taking his hand.
"Lets get you back to bed and take care of your brother." You say and pull him along. You entered the boys' room and walked to the crib, you picked up Aerys and cooed at him. "Im sorry, shhh its ok." You pressed him to your chest and he slowly started calming down. He let out small hiccups until he fell back asleep, you set him back in his crib and pulled the blanket over his small body. You turned around to to Rhaegar and saw him sitting on his bed with droopy eyes. "Lay down." He listened and brought his blanket up. "Good night sweet boy." You kisses his forehead and he closed his eyes.
"Love you." He says and you smile and walked out the room. You got halfway to your room when the person you've avoiding stopped you.
"Love? I was told you missed dinner." You hear Aemond say and you sigh.
"If you were there and not with your whores you'd know I missed dinner and nobody would've had to inform you." You say and turn around to see Aemond with a wide eye holding a plate of food.
"What are you talking about?" He says and you scoff before frowning deeply.
"Do you love me?" Aemond looks at you in shock.
"How could you ask me that of course I do, I married you didn't I, have two beautiful boys with you."
"Many kings, lords and princes have children with the women they marry and not love them, they do because it’s their duty."
"But I love you." Says Aemond and grabs you arm to pull you into your shared room and sets the tray down. "Where is all this coming from, who has said something to you?" He grabs your arms and tries to pull you in close but you shoved him off.
"Nobody has said anything to me, I have to hear you fuck whores in our bed and see them leave OUR room Aemond. I've even heard you with the one who took your virginity all those years ago." You flopped onto a chair and bit your lip to try and suppress the tears. "You've come home smelling of women, smelling of her." You looked up at him and saw him hanging his head down, not looking at you in the eyes.
"I never intended for it happen."
"Of course you didn't!" You broke out into a sob. "You played my heart Aemond, made me think I actually found someone to love me."
"But I do love you." He tried to reason but you shook your head.
"Tell me, tell me if Lady Alys Rivers showed up right through that door you wouldn't run to her?" He didn’t speak a word. “Well, I know my place now.” You stand and walk over to the bed and tug a fur off of it. You started walking to the door when Aemond rushed in front of you.
“Where are you going?” He stares at you hard.
“You’ve practically told me my place Aemond, play the good wife in the eyes of the people so nobody suspects what the prince does in the dark, be the good wife who takes care of the children so they don’t bother their father.” You say and more tears go down your face, you try to push past him be he holds his arm out.
“You are so much more than my wife, you’re my rock, my love, the mother of my children, no other women will be above you or before you.” For a second you almost caved but you stood your ground.
“You say all that but it still didn’t stop you from being unfaithful to our family, to me.” You push him hard away from the door but recovers quickly, he tries to stop you again but you were already out the door and down the hall leaving Aemond with guilt creeping into his body.
