„I hear you aren't eating. What's that all about?“
Sam exhales loudly through his nose, turning his head away.
“Don't you dare roll your eyes at me, Tyler!”
It is out of his mouth before he realizes he shouldn't have said it. The forbidden last name. The delusion they were trying to fix in here. Gene doesn't dare correct himself though because the second he said it Sam gives him a smile, at first cheeky like he is glad that Gene slipped up but then the happiness reaches his eyes and for a brief moment Sam seems genuinely happy.
