Chapter 1: On Your Marks...

Chapter Text

Andy slipped his hand around your throat, his form towering over your small, frail in comparison self, backed up against the wall. You peeked up to see his face, his eyelids hooded from the lustful gaze you held with him, before he leant down, and brushed his lips to yours, not caring about Jake in the other room. He pressed his body against yours, his leg nudging between your thighs, keeping you pinned to the wall. You felt your heart begin racing, and the heat instantly pooling between your legs, as Andy slipped his tongue past the guard of your lips to dance with yours, a soft, shaky moan escaping your lips. Andy pulled back for a moment, his breath shaky as he tried to compose himself. He leaned back down, only to whisper into your ear, a heated breath that sent shivers of excitement down your spine.

“As soon as he shuts that door, I'm going to ruin you…”

You bolted upright, gasping for breath, eyes wide open as you surveyed your surroundings. Right, a dream. As if Andy would ever even acknowledge you, let alone…

You shivered again, feeling a bright blush flooding your cheeks, and swung your legs out of bed. You blindly stumbled through to the bathroom, yawning and stretching, before turning the faucet for the shower, and peering at yourself in the mirror. Your jet black hair was a raven’s nest, your grass green eyes all dewy from sleep, and your eyebrow slit was non-existent anymore after you rubbed your eyes. You grabbed the toothpaste, toothbrush and mouthwash out of the cabinet behind the mirror, and got about to brushing your teeth, stifling another yawn as you spat out the toothpaste. As you swirled the mouthwash about your mouth, you changed your hairstyle from bird's nest to frizz nation. As soon as your pyjamas hit the floor, your face hit the hot water from the showerhead, and you sunk down to the floor, letting your mind relive the dream that you had just experienced.

You turned the faucet off, shaking your strands of hair and slapping the walls with beads of water, calling out.

“Alexa, what’s the time?”

She responded, saying that it was 11:20 AM, and you froze for a second. ‘Shit, I missed my alarm!’ your mind raced, before you grabbed your phone, connecting your phone to play through your Alexa, and began throwing on your clothes; black skinny jeans, an oversized black t-shirt with a skeleton sticking it's middle finger up and looking cool, a belt with chains and hoops on it, fishnet gloves and your midnight cat killstar boots. You threw your dressing gown over your clothes as Just One Yesterday by Fall Out Boy came on, and fetched all your makeup, hands shaking as you raced the clock putting on your makeup. Pale face, no blush or contour, with black eyeshadow, a skull mouth and upside-down crosses under your eyes. Your eyeliner was sharp enough to cut someone, and your lips were as black as your hair that you threw over your face.

You grabbed your jewellery box, grabbed your favourite earrings out and all your rings, shoving them in your pockets. You stripped the dressing gown from your outfit, donned your leather jacket, and slipped your false lashes, false nails and spare black lipstick into your overnight bag, picked up your keys, and disconnected your phone from Bluetooth. You ducked out of the front door, slid the key into the lock, turned it, checked the handle, then walked off, messaging your group chat that you were on your way. You unlocked your car, a McLaren 720S in a dark crimson red, and connected your phone to the stereo, Sirens by Bear Ghost filling the car as you settled into the driver’s seat. Your phone pinged, and you glanced before you grinned. This concert was going to be the best.

As you pulled up outside Ellie’s house, you turned your engine off, and sent her a message, stepping outside of your vehicle to smoke a cigarette while waiting for her. As you sparked your lighter, you heard Allison cackling from Ellie’s room and smiled to yourself. Allison, Ellie’s mum, was such a sweetheart. She made the best weed brownies that you knew of, and knew how to take the mickey out of her daughter being a goth in the best way possible. Allison often took you in for multiple nights when your parents were arguing and screaming late at night, and always made you a cup of hot cocoa on those cold school mornings and evenings, without a single day off. She was the mum that you wished for, instead of your own, who drunk herself into a state and proceeded to beat you daily. Your soft smile became strained, and you shook your head, taking a long drag on your cigarette.

“Solstice, hello!” you heard to your right, and your head snapped to see Allison leaning out of Ellie’s window. You instantly became filled with happiness again, and you grinned, waving up at her.

“Hey, come out! I have a present for you!” You called up to her, and she grinned back, before running down the stairs and out of the front door, down the path and instantly enveloped you into a huge bear hug.

“Oh it is so good to see you again, sweetheart, how are you dealing with your new place?” She asked, her hands gently holding your arms in a warm, motherly way. She looked into your eyes, her own resonating purity and kindness. You grinned again, and told her how well you had been adjusting, moving out of your parents with your inheritance from your grandparents. You explained how you felt inner peace now, and it only brightened the gleam of joy in her eyes.

“That is wonderful news, my dear, oh I am so proud of you!” She exclaimed as you leaned through your window, and retrieved a neatly wrapped selection of boxes from your passenger seat. You wobbled slightly, laughing, before standing upright and handing her all the boxes.

“Thank you, and this is from me to you. Some of them are thank you presents, and some of them are for today, happy birthday, mum!” you chimed cheerfully, your sile stretching from ear to ear as she gasped and smiled softly.

“Sweetheart, you didn't have to do this, but thank you so much, this is awesome!” she choked, holding back a flood of tears. You wrapped an arm around her shoulder, smiling softer again, and told her that it was the least that you could have done after she pretty much adopted you and treated you like her own child. She quickly headed inside, and through the dining room window, you could see her wipe her eyes as she set the presents down on the table. You chuckled to yourself, glad that she accepted the presents, as Ellie waltzed out of the front door. Her black mini skirt over black fishnet tights flared out, revealing some cycling shorts underneath, and her black lace crop top hid just enough that her matching leather jacket missed. She wore platform boots, a knee high pair of boots that made her a good four inches taller, her skull bag slung lazily over her shoulder. Her hair was spiked into a large mohawk, and you cackled as you saw all the bats she had jammed in her hair. Now you knew why Allison was cackling too, and she grinned, before throwing one at you. You neatly hopped out of the way, and threw her a box too, the last box staying in your hand. Allison popped her head back out, and called to you both.
“Have a great night, my darlings, and don't kill anyone today!” You both burst out laughing, before getting into your car.

“So.. what’s with the little box, you gonna propose or something, Sol?” She joked, making kissy faces and beating her false lashes at you.

“You wish, dickwad! Now open it, you dumbass!” you laughed, watching her tear through the black sparkly paper. You caught her eyes lighting up as she pulled out a black razor blade necklace that matched the one that resided in the box in your hand. You slipped the same necklace on, and held the blade. “Read the other side of it,” you murmured, holding up yours to put next to hers. When together, they read “best friends by fate, sisters by choice” and he beamed at you.

“This is actually really cute, thanks Sol, love you!” She choked, and you laughed, turning on your engine.

“It's just something to always remember today, it's Black Veil Brides we are seeing after all, it's an important day of our lives. Oh yeah, and… happy valentines…” you muttered, pulling a black rose out of your door panel. Ellie burst out laughing, and hit you over the head with it lightly as you started reversing.

“You’re such a twat, you know? Thanks, sis, you're the best…” She said, before she grabbed your phone and played Heart Of Fire by Black Veil Brides. This was going to be a great journey.
