Chapter Text
Yeonjun wasn't sure how to feel, his father just sent him an sos afterall.
Then again the old man was fond of using that for useless reasons (like the time he found out his new favourite boots were sold out and he called Yeonjun with the emergency line so he could fly all the way to Paris to get them there) but Yeonjun had a gut feeling he was in trouble this time. Probably because he didn't even call but sent his coordinates and a little message.
Help.
Yeonjun sighed, tying up his shoelaces and leaving the dance studio so he could rescue his father. He wasn't sure if he actually wanted him to be in trouble so the sos message wouldn't be a false alarm or if he wanted it to be another exaggeration of his eccentric father.
He called his sisters to let them know where he was going so they'd know where to find him if he also went missing for a few weeks like their father.
"I thought he was on one of his thrill seeking adventures again." His younger sister, Yeji said, sounding worried when he briefed her on their group video call.
"I thought so too but I think he's really in trouble now. I'll check out this place and get back to you guys."
"Why not just call the police?" His second sister, Yunjin the youngest said.
"I'm not risking calling the police when there's a small chance dad is being his usual dramatic self. We have just one more chance before they stop us from calling the station and I'd like to save that for when I confirm he's actually in danger."
Both his sisters faces fell with that. Yeonjun smiled, trying to ease their nerves.
"Hey I'll be fine, there's no need for you guys to come home when it could be a false alarm. Your jobs are on the other side of the world and I'm here, I can take care of it."
" Are you sure, Jjunie?"
"I'm sure. I'll talk to you guys later." He said, letting them saying their goodbyes before ending the call.
Now, he had a father to save and he hopes to god for his sake that this was another one of his false alarms.

Yeonjun followed the directions exactly like his father said, despite him ending up in a dense forest and having to park his car elsewhere because he couldn't take it any further. He curses as he swats another mosquito away from his skin.
This better be a sick joke.
He trudged ahead slowly, it was getting dark and he needed to turn on his phone light at some point, not looking anywhere other than his phone screen and his feet so he wouldn't trip and finally ended up at his father's exact coordinates.
He looked up in surprise to see that he ended up in front of a huge gate of what seemed to be a huge castle.
How the fuck is there a huge palace so close to the city and I had no idea about it?
Standing there wondering how exactly he was going to get in when the gate swings open with a huge gust of wind that almost knocks him off balance. Great just great. Mysterious winds opening huge gates of a somehow hidden castle of this magnitude. Not creepy at all. He was going to rip his father a new one when he saw him.
Slowly he crept in, careful to make his footsteps as light as possible. Not that it helped much, with the entire place being dead silent. Seriously what the fuck was this place.
He wasn't sure where he was going but he followed this weird instinct that led him to the basement. He was a little freaked out when he realized this place held jail cells instead of junk like normal basements and then he found who he was looking for.
His father.
"Dad." He whispered, feeling scared all of a sudden of his surroundings. His father's eyes widened and he smiled at the sight of his son.
"Jjunie! You've come for me." He screamed in delight then suddenly went white as Yeonjun tried to shut him up.
"It appears we have a new guest ." A deep, rumbling voice said behind Yeonjun. That moment, as Yeonjun turned around to see who it was, he wished he listened to his sisters when they told him to go to the authorities.
Behind him was a creature of great height, with extremely horns and teeth that could easily snap Yeonjun into two. It looked menacing in the dim lit basement.
The beast grinned. "Welcome."
Yeonjun fainted.

When he came to, he met himself on the cold floor beside his father. He blinked once, twice in surprise, still trying to gain his bearings.
"Jjun! Thank goodness you're awake." His father held on to him tight, silently crying into his shoulder. Yeonjun wasn't sure what to do, his father wasn't one for tears unless he wanted to guilt someone into doing something for him. This case was different, he was barely holding himself together.
"Oh good, you're awake." He jumped at the sound of the unknown voice. He looked up, seeing no one else in the room but him and his father.
"I'm down here." The voice said impatiently. Cautiously, Yeonjun peered down at the ground to see a candelabra glaring at him.
He rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
"This never gets easier." The candelabra huffed. "Yes, I can talk. Several objects in the castle can, get used to it. Also we took your phone because it was buzzing throughout the time you were unconscious and we realized that was how your father got across to you. Can't take any chances now, can we?"
"What… are you?" Yeonjun forced out, still in disbelief that an inanimate object was talking to him, quite rudely too. Does he have a concussion? Did he hit his head so bad he started to hallucinate?
"I'm Beomgyu." The candelabra, Beomgyu, said, attempting a little bow. Yeonjun was stunned.
He heard heavy footsteps coming their way again and stiffened, knowing the person approaching had to be the beast that made him collapse in the first place.
At the sight of the monster, he scouted back a little with his father in his arms.
"What do you want from us?" His voice shook a little. The Beast took a look at him and shook his head.
"I do not want anything from you."
"Then why are we here, in a jail cell?"
"Because your father tried to stab me and I wasn't sure if you would do the same." He shrugged, a highly comical action for such a monstrous creature.
"Let me out so we can talk. I would never." He lied. He was already thinking of how to attack and escape.
The Beast scoffed. "Nice try princess but we already found the knife in your boot. Is everyone in your family murderous and prone to entering unknown castles?"
"Let us go!" Yeonjun yelled, having enough of the Beast's teasing tone. The eyes of the beast narrowed and the teasing atmosphere dissipated. Yeonjun kind of missed it because it was better than the cold aura the monster was exuding now.
"Your father came into my home and stole!" He growled lowly. "And now he has placed the curse upon himself."
"What does that mean?" Yeonjun was terrified.
"It means both of you can not leave at the same time even though what was stolen is returned. You're stuck here, princess ."
