Work Text:
“Do you like dancing?”
she glanced at the dancefloor, the sea of people moving left and right, dancing to the rhythm, in the corner— she spots a couple, the same couple a few moments ago urged her to have the guts to ask him before anybody does
she turned back at him, anticipating for his answer—
“No.”
He sternly answered, Lumine stood in front of the circular table where he sat along with a couple of his friends, she felt like a little puppy who was getting kicked, regret starts to linger in her and the thought of asking him the question in the first place was starting to become the worst decision she has ever made in her life
“Oh. Okay.”
The tension kept on building, she didn’t even make a plan b as to where to go after she asked him to dance.
Everything was purely on impulse, and now she's just... there
It was suffocating. The thought of what was going to happen after this, people around them might've heard their conversation and would probably make some ridiculous rumour about them. She needed to get out of there, quick
But before she got the chance to stand up, he spoke up again
“Ask me anyway”
she stood there shocked, mouth agape, looking at him like he slit someone’s throat open, he sat on the c-shaped couch, manspreading and had his arms folded on his chest.
Based on her face, she was definitely taken aback
“What? Pardon?” She tries to confirm
“Ask me anyway” he leaned forward, resting his head on his hand as he looked at her, like she was some kind of interesting thing he found
a grin found it's way to the corners of his mouth
“Lumine Viatrix”
The way his lips pronounced her name felt so right, like it was meant to call for her.
His ridiculously uneven indigo hair for some reason compliments perfectly his obnoxious personality.
Which out of everything there is about him that isn't a shocker
“Oh…”
they both stared at each other, goosebumps crawling up to her skin
Despite his attitude, she knew deep down, he somewhat has a soft spot for her. Judging by the way his eyes sparkled the minute she sat next to him.
“Would you like to dance with me, Scaramouche?”
The loud music boomed over them, people around them having separate conversations, the other making out at some part of the house. Lights beaming on every corner of the room, revealing every couple that hid.
but for some reason, despite the chaos.
He was all she could hear
“…”
“Yes”
