Work Text:
Ominis put the ring on the counter.
He took a deep breath, tears running down his cheeks.
Sebastian stared, hands crossed. He had no other words. They stood there in complete silence.
The broken glass laid still in the corner, right where Sebastian had thrown it.
Ominis lifted two bags from the floor.
He didn't need his wand to know where to go in there. Years he had explored the house with him.
This wasn't planned. This wasn't sudden.
Ominis left on the third day.
Ominis touched his wand in his pocket.
Muffled yells echoed through the Gaunt-Sallow household.
The sound of breaking glass filled Ominis' ears.
It echoed there for minutes.
Ominis tried to hold back tears.
This couldn't be happening.
Sebastian locked himself in the bathroom.
Ominis fell asleep on the couch on day two.
Ominis put the glass of wine on the table.
He squeezed Sebastian's shoulder.
He was tipsy, Sebastian laughing next to him at the dinner table.
Poppy stood up to leave, hugging them again for goodbyes.
Ominis rested his head on Sebastian's shoulder, their hands locked.
Sebastian took him by the waist, leading him through the hallway.
Sloppy kisses leading to the bedroom.
Ominis fell asleep next to him for the last time.
Ominis wasn't happy on day one.
