Chapter Text
The crowd was roaring. Going absolutely wild. And then suddenly his lips were crashing down on hers. She had so many questions and none of them mattered. All that mattered was that the crowd was chanting for their encore and Billy Dunne was all over her. She tasted the alcohol on his lips, and she knew they would have to address it for real at some point. But not right now. Nothing mattered right now, only Billy’s body flush against hers. When she felt his hands snake under her thighs, she let him lift her. Her lips never left his as her legs wrapped tightly around him, deepening the kiss. His tongue pushed past her lips as she tangled her hands in his sweaty hair.
When he suddenly set her down she huffed in protest. But Billy didn’t notice, he was busy with this belt buckle and zipper. And then his jeans were around his upper tights and he was back on her, kissing her neck as he lifted her back up and pushed her against one of the large crates on the side of the stage. He pulled back just enough to rest his forehead against hers. “Daisy, look at me” he whispered, equal parts a command and a plea.
And then he was inside of her and everything went quiet. There was nobody shouting, no lights, no threat of interruption. It was just Daisy and Billy, finally completely connected. There were soft grunts and loud moans, all masked by the cheering crowd that neither could hear.
“More”
“Don’t stop”
“Right there”
As she came a rush of lyrics shot through her head. Albums full of songs about the way it feels when two halves finally become whole. Slow songs about connection and destiny, about the way it feels to be completely enveloped by the one you love. Fast songs about passion and lust and finally giving in to your desires.
She felt him finish moments after she did, her inner muscles tightening around him all he needed to tumble over the edge. As he came he let out a loud moan in her ear.
And then just as suddenly as he was there he was gone, letting her down as he frantically searched for something. Daisy was still dazed, her underwear completely ruined and her makeup even more smudged than before as she was left to fix the dress that was up around her waist.
“Billy? What are you doing?”
After a moment he seemed to find what he was looking for. A small vial of white powder that Daisy immediately recognized as her own. He must have gone through her stuff to get it. He dumped some powder onto his hand and took a sniff.
“She’s leaving, Daisy. She’s leaving me. It’s over.”
He went to take another but she was faster, taking the small bottle from his hands. She threw it to the side, for the first time in a long while not caring where it went. With her now free hand she stroked his cheek, looking into his eyes.
“Hey, what are you doing? Hey, this isn’t who you are”
His hand covered hers, forehead resting against his.
“Yes it is Daisy. We don’t have to fight it anymore. You and me? We’re broken. All right? Let’s just be broken together, all right?”
He tried to kiss her again but she resisted.
“Billy I-”
He tried again. She almost let him, but then he repeated himself. The same thing he had said months ago. The thing that had caused her to pull away and flee to the car. Why would he think he could say that to her again? But here he was, pulling her against him, his words almost a plea for permission to give up the entire life he had created for himself.
“Let’s be broken”
His lips brushed against hers, forcefully this time. But not with the same forceful passion as minutes ago. This was too rough. She shoved him against the chest in an attempt to push him back.
“No, stop.”
He was stronger, he didn’t budge. His hands found either side of her head, keeping her forehead pressed against his own.
“Just be with me”
He was begging at this point. He needed her permission to let go and she wasn’t giving it to him. She pushed him harder than last time. He finally backed off.
“No, stop. I don’t want to be broken”
And then she walked on stage. Knowing what she was going to do. What she was going to say. What she was going to give him permission to do.
And when she told him to go it was the hardest thing she had ever done.
She found out when she got to rehab.
