Royal Blue

Summary:

This is a story of two royals a prince and a princess, both of the same bloodline. The question is will this kingdom they share end in bloodshed and ruin, or will the hope of a new dawn break through, bringing them closer to peace?

For the song and dance of love and sorrow are forever entwined, leaving behind a trail of blood on ones not lost.

Notes:

France and Britain are often away from the castle and their kids, the English siblings were raised by maids and servants, Canada was taught how to be a true leader so he didn't have much of a childhood, and America just being the backup prince took his time to goof around the castle avoiding his limited responsibilities, Australia the oldest and at one point only daughter took a liking to the knights and would often sneak off from her studies to watch them train, wishing to be the head of the royal guard, Nz once a young boy took a liking to the arts and whatever study the library could offer, now shes a well-educated princess still eager to learn more.

As for the Slavic family, R.e the father was a religious man raising his children to respect the church, Soviet the oldest actively rebelled against this idea doubtful of gods ability to run a nation he spent his time learning how to properly run a nation, while Russia the second oldest took care of his siblings and when he wasn't he spent his time at the church or studying in the library however if you were close with him you could definitely say he was a respectable and friendly person despite coming off as cold and intimidating.

This is a love story involving both kingdoms, and this love story starts as many do with an elegant ball filled with royals and nobles from every corner of the world.

Chapter 1: Escaping Stars

Chapter Text

Leaning on the back wall America sighed, Looking out onto the large ballroom he searched for his younger sister. Spotting her talking to the second oldest of the Slavic siblings he knew they wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon. As he was looking around for his brother he spotted the open balcony door. Moving towards the door he kept an eye out for his parents, knowing they would see his moving towards it and keep him inside to socialise.

Making his way out the door he quickly moved to the side, leaning against the wall he breathed out a sigh of relief. Turning his head to look back inside he looked around, seeing that no one had noticed him gone yet he moved over to the edge holding onto the railing.

“I would say it's a surprise to see you out here America but that would be a lie.” a deep voice said from behind. Turning around he saw Soviet, the oldest of the Slavic Family, standing in the doorway with two glasses.

“Hello Soviet, how are you?” America asked, turning back around.

“I’m well enough,” Soviet said, walking towards him. placing one of the glasses he was holding on the railing. Pushing the glass over to the American, he took a sip from the one he was holding. Nodding in thanks, America picked up the glass and took a sip of the drink.

“You didn't poison this right?” America joked a smile on his face,

“America, I'm offended you'd think I’d use such a basic method,” Soviet laughed back,

“Why are you out here though?” Soviet continued his eyes, meeting America with a curious look.

“I could ask you the same question” America answered back.

“You know these things are so boring, and watching my father flirt with anything that moves and my brother chat up your sister isn't how I like to spend my evening,” Soviet said with a sigh,

“I know something that might be your style,” America said skulling the rest of his drink and climbing over the railing, “you have to trust me though,”

“And why would I need to trust you?” Soviet said back with a laugh following America, “the question is where are you taking me?”

"Somewhere so much better,” America said with a smile, sliding down the balcony to the one below he looked back towards the taller man. “Come on, the thing i'm going to show you is so much cooler than staying out here,”

Opening the door to the balcony he now stood on he made his way inside, holding the door open for Soviet. Making his way to the bookshelf on the side of the room he started looking through the shelf.

“What are you doing?” Soviet said curiously.

“There's this thing I wanna show you,” America said looking at them closer, “Aha found it.”

Pulling back one of the books there was a clicking sound. As America moved back the bookshelf opened into a long corridor with stairs at the end. “Follow me,” America said, moving to walk into the corridor, looking back at Soviet he waved at him.

“Yeah sure let me just follow you into a random place,” Soviet said sarcastically however he followed close behind “I swear if this is a plot to kill me I’ll haunt you beyond grave America,”

“Yeah, yeah go ahead,” America answered back before opening a door leading to the roof as he stepped onto the roof he looked out at the night sky, “The stars are Bright tonight,”

“Yes they do,” Soviet said, looking up at the sky when he said that. Looking back at America before they both heard laughter from the other side of the roof turning to investigate they saw America’s Younger sister, Australia joined by the younger Slavic prince the two were completely blinded by the other’s company.

America laughed and looked at Soviet “we really can’t escape them can we?”
“It appears we can’t,” Soviet said slightly disappointed.

“If you want we can just go to my room?” America said,

“God please yes I don't want to see my brother’s questionable taste,”

“Questionable? I’m questioning my sister’s taste, like really she can do so much better”

“Surely” Soviet smirked, his sarcasm clear as crystal,

“What do you mean by that?”

“She wears that veil for a reason,” Soviet laughed Before walking off,

“You say as you hang around someone with a veil of course,” America said sarcastically, running after him.

They turned back and descended the stairs making their way to America’s bedroom, entering the room America let out a long sigh as he fell onto his bed.

“Actually, why do you wear a veil?” Soviet said moving closer to America,

“Of course, you of all people would ask that,” America said while sitting up, “why do you want to know?”

“Cause it must be interesting if you hide it so much,” Soviet said “I mean everyone knows about Australia’s reason what's yours?” reaching out to reveal the other's eyes.

“Woah, maybe don't reach for people's eyes man,” America said pushing his hand away,

"I just want to know what you're hiding so badly," Soviet said, falling onto the bed, "is that so wrong?"

"For me yes," America said flopping back down,

“Come on comrade you can trust me,” Soviet said, “I'm not gonna judge you” he continued,

“Why would you want to see my eyes anyways?” America asked looking confused,

“Well I’ve known you for years I think I should be able to see the one secret I wasn't let in on,” Soviet said turning towards the smaller man,

“True, but still, why now, and what do I even get out of this?” America said standing up from the bed.

Moving towards the doors to the bedroom balcony he opened them and walked out into the night's air. Collapsing into one of the chairs kept out there he looked to the door. Watching Soviet make his way through the door, closing his eyes when the taller collapses into the chair across from him.

As they looked out into the cool night, They could hear laughter coming from the roof.

“You and your sister seem similar,” Soviet said glancing at America,

“Of course, that's what happens when you grow up together, we are one the same,” America said, running a hand through his hair.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was loud and her mother was getting annoyed, ‘And yet another suitor great’ Australia thought. Looking at her mother who was now talking to some random noble she couldn't remember the name of, she sighed. Looking around the room for her older brother America, she saw him on the far side of the room.

Turning back to her mother, she noticed she had started a conversation with the Slavic king R.e. Not wanting to be caught up in what they were talking about she searched the room once more. Picking out her friend, the youngest Slavic prince or Russia, she moved to make her way over to him.

“Good evening Russia how are you?” she asked coming from behind scaring him,

“My lord Australia- must you always appear out of thin air?” Russia sighed turning to the girl,

“It means I can avoid the people I don't want to talk to,” Australia said standing in front of him now, “Anyways if you watch my brother you can see the exact moment he realises that the door to the balcony is open,”

Now both looking towards her older brother America, they could both see the way he stands up straighter and looks around, watching as he makes his way right out the door. Turning back to one another, Australia lets out a small laugh.

“Wait a moment, is that your brother going out the same door with two glasses?” Australia asks, looking towards the door he left through.

“It appears so, anyways do you want to join me in leaving this event,” Russia said bowing and reaching his hand out mocking the other nobles.

Australia giggled before taking his hand, “it would be my pleasure,” she said guiding the taller man out of the ballroom avoiding her mother’s line of sight.

Sneaking down the hall making it to one of the hidden passages down the hall, opening it and making her way down the hidden hall. Turning back towards Russia she waved for him to follow, both of them walking down the hall to a pair of stairs. Walking up she opened the door, bringing the both of them into the cool night air.

Taking off the veil covering her face she let out a sigh feeling the breeze brush against her, she sighed “god I hate this thing,”

"I mean I would tell you to leave it off but we both know how that would go,"

“My mother would kill me if she caught me like this ya know,” Australia said as she let her hair down the wind blowing through it “it's nice I get to talk to you frostbite,” she turned and smiled at him.

“Anytime spider,” he smirked back at her before placing his hand on her head and ruffling her hair, as he removed his hand Australia looked up at him her cheeks flushed pink before she shook her head and looked away from the taller man.

“If you dont want to get married why don’t you just tell your mother?” Russia said trying to reason

“I wish it was that easy, I’m the oldest daughter so essentially I’m a bargaining tool,” Australia said looking up at the star-filled sky.

“You could always marry me?” Russia said leaning against the wall

Australia looked at Russia and began to laugh her cheeks rosy red, “Good one frosty!” she continued “I'm more likely to be married off to your brother!” she laughed and laughed Russia stared at her a feeling of jealousy itched his heart when she mentioned even the chance of her marrying his brother he quickly brushed it off.

“Still if you could marry me, would you?” Russia said

“I-i dont know,” she stuttered, “why are you asking,” her face getting warmer by the second.

“No reason not like I would marry you anyways,” Russia said giving Australia a smug look,

“Fuck you, I hope you don’t get married and die alone,” Australia said giving russia a slight punch on the shoulder.

“Oh how you wound me spider,” Russia said dramatically while moving back hand clutched to the shoulder she hit.

“In my defence, you deserve it you idiot” Australia laughed before hugging the tall man closely.

It was one of the perfect ways to end the night for Australia her arms wrapped around her closest friend and longest crush.
