Work Text:
Mima and Hayate had been dating for a few years now, and when Hayate got his first job and his uncle was back, Mima offered for him to stay at his new apartment.
A couple of months back, Mima for whatever reason decided to move out to a new apartment. Hayate theorized it was because his boyfriend got a huge promotion and raise. The apartment he moved into was a two bedroom apartment so it was alot bigger than what his old one was. They had a housewarming party equipped with everyone in the group including Shun's sister.
While they have been dating for so long, the couple have not progressed too far. They've held hands, hugged, and kissed, but it hadnt gone too far at all. Sure, a couple of times those kisses escalated a little further and those hugs would get a little tighter, but they decided to take it slow. It was Hayate's first ever relationship afterall.
So when Mima asked him to live with him, Hayate had doubts. He'd heard of how couples living together can sometimes not work out at all. Afterall, dating someone you dont live with is different to being in their space. What if Mima gets tired of him? What if he thinks Hayate is a slob or finds him uncomfortable to live with?
He shared these thoughts with his boyfriend, after a little pushing from him. Mima immediately calmed him down and told him that he would never get tired of him. He mentioned that he stayed over his place before and Hayate kept a clean home.
"Besides, you comfort my heart better than anything else. How much more comfortable can that get?"
Eventually, Hayate agreed. They worked out a rent agreement and ground rules that same night. They decided a couple of things:
One, since there are two bedrooms they each can have their own rooms.
Two, they have each do half of the chores together. Cycling everyday. Meaning that everyday they would change who would water the plants, wash the dishes, sweep and mop, ect.
Three, if they ever decide to get a pet (which Hayate really wants) they will take care of it together.
Four, they must pay for communal items at a certain rate. For example if Hayate buys toilet paper, then Mima will buy handsoap.
Five, the mornings should be spent quietly.
There are more things not to note, but thats the gist of it. Eventually Hayate signed a lease and started packing up his stuff. His uncle and Igarashi lent a hand, the writer not having anything to do that day. Mima wanted to help, but with a new position his workload significantly increased.
By evening, Mima had still not finished his work and called Hayate explaining he could not make it in time to pick him up. He explained he would be there by around 9 pm. He felt really bad and apologized over and over, Hayate kept saying that it was okay. Igarashi popped in and said that he could take him to his office to grab the keys and drive him to their apartment. Mima agreed and thanked him, promising a thank you gift.

"Hayate-kun! Sorry Im late!" It is now 10.30 PM. Mima had arrived an hour and a half late due to not being able to catch up with the right train.
"Takayuki-san, welcome home" Hayate greeted at the door.
"Have you unpacked yet? I'll lend a hand."
"I've unpacked only a little bit. We can continue when its morning, you must be tired."
"Right. Have you bathe yet?" Mima keeps the conversation going as he unpacks his bag and takes of his vest.
"Oh yes, I showered before I went here! I prepared the hot water for you just before you arrived if you'd like to go in now."
Mima smiles, Hayate was thoughtful to prepare his bath and he loves him for it. He thanks him and peck his cheek which made the younger boy blush a shade of cherry.
"I'll be quick."
"T-take your time, Takayuki-san."
