Work Text:
Kirishima Eijirou has been planning this date for his partners for a little while now, and he thinks he has everything down perfectly. The basket with the crackers, fruit snacks, a checkered blanket, and more — the ingredients for their sandwiches still down in the fridge in the common room for Eijirou to put together right before he calls down his partners — are all tucked under his bed, ready to go.
He’s excited because Katsuki had asked for a simple date after Izuku took them all to Inabe Plum Grove for the plum festival last week. They stayed there for the weekend (Izuku had gone to each of their work studies’ bosses and arranged for the three of them to have the weekend off because Katsuki had let it slip that they had never been to a plum festival before). It was incredible: the scent of the sweet and plentiful blossoms were so saturated in the air that if Eijirou were to breathe in deep enough now he could still catch its trace. The warmth of Izuku’s hand in his and the tenderness of Katsuki’s addicting kisses underneath the trees blooming with luscious colors and smells. Especially when he had stopped to pluck a couple of complete blossoms off the edge of the crimson bridge railing and tucked them in locks of vibrant green and thick blonde hair. Katsuki’s eyes had seemed so warm as he stared up at Eijirou when his hand came back down, face full of love; Izuku had watery eyes and immediately asked for a proper kiss right there.
However magical the weekend had been, it was also expensive and used up a lot of their energy. So they decided that a few non-extravagant dates for a little while before one of them plans something big again would be a good idea. Eijirou jumped on that idea because he wasn’t the best at planning the more extravagant places they’ve been: so today’s date is a simple picnic outside their third-year dorms.
He throws on a pair of gym shorts and a t-shirt (trust him, this is him dressing up for a date, good thing neither his boyfriend nor his partner minds it) and pulls the basket out from under his bed. He tucks the vase and his own water bottle into the basket as well before heading down to the common floor.
Izuku is out in Ground Beta with All Might to work on his air propulsion combat. They have been out there for over two hours now so he could be returning at any time now.
“Hey, Kiri!” someone calls out to him from the couches as he carries the basket on one arm and the two bouquets of flowers in the other towards the kitchen. It is Uraraka; her and Iida are resting together in front of the TV that they got last year as a class.
From the quick glance he gets at the screen as he’s walking by, it appears they’re watching a nature documentary (definitely Iida’s choice, he isn’t sure Uraraka has ever wanted to watch something like that—).
“H-hey!” he only stumbles a little because the greeting had caught him off-guard, he’d been so buried in his own memories. Then he realizes they could help him: “You haven’t seen Izuku come through here yet have you? He told me he’d be ready to uh, hang out in like fifteen minutes but I wasn’t sure if he was back yet.”
“You have a picnic basket,” Iida observes.
Eijirou nods his head, a light blush heating up his cheeks. He isn’t embarrassed, he is just shy.
Because he isn’t good at planning adventurous dates like his other loves do (literally everything is a competition with those two so they are constantly trying to one-up each other in a romantic way) he goes for the traditional ones — they all love the balance. Dinner and movie dates, picturesque walks on the beach, amorous nights in their dorm rooms, and the like. Simple yet effective.
“Oh my goodness!” Uraraka slaps her hands against her cheeks. She is now sitting up to face him entirely with her knees on the couch cushions and elbows resting on the back of the furniture. “You’re planning a picnic date, eek! That is so cute, Kirishima!”
Eijirou looks to his feet and scrapes the sole of his house slipper against the carpet. He feels the back of his neck prickle with an itch he can’t scratch due to his hands being full still. “Gee, thanks…” he says genuinely instead, not being able to meet either of their eyes.
“As for Midoriya…” Iida ropes the conversation back to the original question. “...he had just gotten back a few minutes before you came down. He had his training bag and was heading towards the showers.”
Eijirou perks up then. That means he is almost ready and can be in here at any time. “Thanks, man!”
The redhead whips back around and dumps the contents in his arm onto the countertop and starts to pull out stuff to make the sandwiches — egg-salad for Katsuki, bologna-and-cheese for Izuku, and ham-turkey-salami-and-swiss for himself. In total it takes about ten minutes to get everything put together for the three of them and the sandwiches are placed in little plastic baggies and put into the basket. He even grabs the bottle of sparkling grape juice that he hopes neither of them have seen since he put it in the fridge yesterday.
“That is so cute, really,” Uraraka says when she wanders into the kitchen as he is tucking the red-and-white checkered blanket back into the basket, the contents inside making the top bulge out a bit.
“Thank you, we were due for a date, and it is nice out.” He just wants to spoil his partners; he loves them so much. He keeps that to himself though.
She hums as she takes a quick sip of the water cup she’d come over to refill with her pinky pointed straight into the air. Once the cup is placed safely back onto the counter top, she asks, “so is this just you and Deku? Or is it all three of you?”
Eijirou nods his head with a smile (he could never not enjoy talking about his partners), “Katsuki is coming as well, they just wanted to finish up the homework they were working on when I texted earlier. I was just about to text the both of them, actually.”
“Alrighty,” she sighs, dumping the rest of the contents of the cup into the sink. “I should get back to Iida before I miss the sixth wonder of the world!” She raises his hands in the air and her voice takes on a tone so sarcastic Eijirou could practically taste it.
Yep, definitely not her choice of entertainment.
He smiles at her and tells her to enjoy the rest of the day. He’s pulling out his phone as he is saying this so he misses the girl’s affectionate eye-roll as she turns away. He opens up his, Katsuki’s, and Izuku’s group chat.

Hey guys, if you arent to busy you should come down to the kitchen
Eijirou had made the group chat when they were second years and decided to start scheduling training sessions together and needed a place to get a hold of both of them at once. Then when they got together later that year, Eijirou changed the name from Heck Yeah Dudebros 💪 to what it is today.
The replies he gets make him blush even more and simultaneously make him want to beat his head against the counter. Which accurately sums up their relationship, he supposes.

Izuku shows up first, having come from the shower room and not his own room. His hair is damp and his skin still looks a little red from where he stood underneath the scalding hot water—
“Kats is gonna yell at you for taking such a hot shower,” Eijirou jokes as Izuku walks up.
“Mhm,” Izuku chuckles a little. He reaches out a hand to place on Eijirou’s arm as he stares at the basket being poorly concealed behind his broad shoulders. “A picnic?” Izuku asks, gazing lovingly up at his boyfriend’s face.
“Yes…” Kirishima says timidly, “is that okay?”
“Of course, babe. I love it,” he stands up on his tiptoes to place a gentle kiss on Eijirou’s mouth.
Immediately the redhead follows and presses three more quick kisses against pliant and accepting lips. Eijirou loves kissing. He wants to do it almost every second of every day, something his boyfriend really loves to indulge him in. Especially when their voice of reason isn’t present—
“Aye!” (Whoops, nevermind.)
The two of them separate to look over at Katsuki and all their glory. They have both hands on their hips and are staring at them with a raised eyebrow. Eijirou’s eyes travel down the length of their body to see a black and grey striped sweater underneath dark brown suspenders and a matching-in-color skirt that ends just above their knees. Their legs are adorned in nylons that accentuate the curve of their calves and thighs.
In conclusion, Katsuki looks absolutely adorable. He and Izuku (who is dressed similarly to himself) are very underdressed.
“Well?” they ask impatiently.
“Kacchan looks really good,” Izuku admits, slacked jawed. Eijirou can only dumbly nod.
Katsuki purses their lips at the compliment and stares at their two boyfriends for another moment. “And what, did you two just come from gym class?” Katsuki’s snark is all bark and no bite, they both have known this for a while.
“We can go change—” before the suggestion is even completely out of his mouth, Izuku is being cut off by Katsuki again.
“Of course not, I like my boys as they are.” They hum out a peal of laughter as they reach around Eijirou for the basket and start to walk out of the room and towards the door. “You coming?”
Eijirou and Izuku take one second to give each other heart eyes — both left over from their initial reaction to Katsuki’s very cute outfit — before chasing after their third. It isn’t very often that Katsuki will dress up, so they are going to treat them like the royalty they are.
Eijiour grabs the two bouquets of flowers as he goes. Once they get outside and pick a spot to lay down the blanket, he presents each of his loves with one. “For you,” he says.
Katsuki’s eyes soften and they take the red and pink roses and Izuku grins uncontrollably as he takes the group of red and orange roses. Katsuki won’t admit it (unlike Izuku) but they really enjoy getting flowers, so Eijirou has made it a point to get them both some in their favorite colors every chance he can.
“Thank you, Ei,” Katsuki says, cupping his strong jaw in their warm hand. This gains Eijirou a kiss on the cheek as well, something he still feels even as the blond has pulled away.
Izuku has his nose buried in the petals of a flower as he inhales the scent of them. His cheeks are red and pulled up with his continuous grin. Izuku is such a sucker for these kinds of things. It pulls on Eijirou’s heartstrings each time he gets to give this boy anything that will make him feel like this.
“Okay, so…” Eijirou says, pulling the basket towards himself. “I packed your favorite kinds of sandwiches, something to drink, and a vase to set the flowers in for now.”
“Ooh, so prepared Ei,” Izuku compliments him.
“Yes,” Katsuki says, red eyes not leaving Eijirou’s once the redhead looks over, “this is too sweet.” Their mouth ticked up to form one of their rare but genuine grins; as if denying their love for receiving flowers was ever plausible.
Together, the three of them pull out everything from the basket and dig into the sandwiches (especially Izuku who is exhausted after his training with All Might) and then Katsuki goes for the crackers while Eijirou chews on the fruit snacks.
Within a short period of time, they end up like they always do: all over each other. Izuku is sitting next to Eijirou with his head resting on his broad shoulder, and Katsuki is laying more horizontal with their head in Eijirou’s lap.
Because of their already uncontrollably spiky hair, Eijirou is allowed to play with it all he wants, and the rhythmic touches to his surprisingly soft locks are almost therapeutic. Not to mention, the pleased humming that Katsuki makes every now and again makes it all worth it.
“So you can do the double-cowl now?” Katsuki asks Izuku about his training earlier. They had opted to not go with the pair because they had homework and a date to get ready for (that Kirishima is still kicking himself for being so careless about where he put his things because he wanted this to be a surprise).
“Yeah,” Izuku mumbles, cheek pressed into the bone of Eijirou’s shoulder. “It’s still hard though, I need to work on it some more before I try to use it on someone…”
Eijirou is perfectly content with listening to anything these two talk about because the sounds of their voices are a comfort for him. He could listen to them talk about… statistics, or history, or some other boring subject and never want it to stop. They make everything sound so riveting.
They are the reason his blood pumps so heavily throughout his body; they are the reason his heart has bloomed with a love so full and so beautiful that it makes the hardships of their work studies, his school work, or his everyday life seem so insignificant.
He can’t imagine his life without them.
Getting together had been a struggle of miscommunication, and Izuku and Katsuki had a hell of a lot more history to work through then Eijirou did with either of them. In the end, though, he knew it would all be worth it. There isn’t a day that goes by that he doesn’t think about the both of them.
They graduate soon and plan on living together in a campus apartment at a university in Tokyo. They will transfer their work-study credits to agencies there (they’ve already all heard back from them so their jobs are secure). Life for them is looking to be as consistent and full as it is for them now: that includes full of love.
Eijrou turns his head to press his lips against the slightly still-damp hair on Izuku’s head and nuzzles there for a second. The green-haired boy had been mid-sentence but cut himself off with a surprised but accepting noise. After a second or two, Eijirou leaned down and pressed his mouth to Katsuki’s. He still loves kissing them, no matter the context of the situation.
“What was that for?” Katsuki asks, bringing a hand up to tangle their fingers in long red locks and not letting Eijiour get too far away.
Eijirou just grins, “I love you both is all.”
It earns him a few more kisses and them both saying that they love him back. It makes his heart skip a beat every time he hears it.
The three of them lay together in the nice spring weather, enjoying the sunshine for the first time in a while, soaking up each other in the process. Their love for one another isn’t unlike any other “traditional” couple, it is just more full: loving two people at the same time is twice as rewarding when they love you back.
