[Monday, July 5]
'Hey!'
'You free today? Wanna go hang out?'
Shu groaned as his phone lit up to the notifications.
With his eyes half closed, he felt his way around the items on his bedside table, picking up the device.
It was Luca, back from who knows where, doing who knows what. He smiled at the screen, texting him back.
'Shure :)'
'Give me a bit. Where you wanna meet up?'
He got up and wiped the tiredness out of his eyes, his so called '15 minute nap' took longer than expected.
This is Shu Yamino. And he likes Luca Kaneshiro, but doesn't want to confess it.
. . . . . . .
"Hey! It's been a while." Shu greeted, having not seen his best friend for.. 4 weeks?
"Yeah, haha, had some stuff going on. But it's alright now." Luca smiled.
It was great to catch up with his best friend and all, but Shu really wished that they were more than that.
But, he didn't know how to get the words out of his mouth.
"What have you been doing this summer?"
Shu wondered, also noticing dark circles under Luca's eyes.
"Mm. Nothing much. I did miss hanging out with you."
He had to admit, those words made Shu's heart do a backflip.
"I- oh, hahaha! A.. me too."
He was glad to see him again.

[Tuesday, July 6]
'Hey!!'
'Wanna hopcon valo?'
Luca was back with the messages, and Shu even noticing how he'd text him more often, since yesterday.
'I got nothing to do rn, so sure!!'
The pair spent the night training, and going against people in lobbies, enjoying the time they had together.
"Ayo.. hey, I gotta get off now. Gotta go get some things early in the morning." Luca apologized, promising to text Shu tomorrow, as he had to go to sleep.
"Okay! Goodnight, Luca." Shu had to admit, it was only now that he noticed his eyelids getting heavy. So it was best for both of them to get some well needed shut-eye.

Luca was the first one awake between the two, as Shu was still asleep around this time.

'Oh hey!!'
'What are you getting?'
Shu was finally awake, being someone with an unpredictable sleep schedule.
'Just things B) Maybe some.. camping things'
'There's a new cafe near by right? Wanna hang?'
The approach caught him off guard for a second, but it's not like he couldn't say no.. he loves hanging out with Luca.
'Sure, send me the location and I'll c u there.'
. . . . . . .
Ever since a couple days ago, Luca had succeeded in making Shu the happiest in the world. It would be a shame to ruin all that they have, had he told Luca his feelings for him.
He is content with how things are.

[Thursday, July 8]
'Shu'
'Wanna join vc?'
'Just want to listen to tunes with you, maybe even sing along, haha'
Back at it, Luca's notifications popped up on Shu's screen.
'Yeah!! Let me load up my pc :)'
He typed, pressing on the power switch to his monitor.
. . . . .
"Hi!" The shorter man greeted as he joined Luca and his vc.
"Yoyoyo! Hello!!"
Shu could feel a smile radiating from his voice alone.
The pair relaxed to songs, each doing whatever they wanted to do, only with occasional short conversations to break the comfortable silence between the two, only being filled in with the music.
"I really enjoyed the last couple of days with you." Luca started, voice seeming relaxed and at peace.
"Haha, yeah. I love spending summer with you." Shu smiled softly.
"Thank you, Shu. What could I have done without you" He chuckled.

[Friday, July 9]
It was pretty late in the morning, but Shu was yet to receive a single message from Luca.
'good morning luca!!'
'luca?'
Huh. He wasn't online.
Shu walked out of his room to his apartment door, noticing a written envelope, coming from Luca's address.
He carefully opened it, and as soon as he saw a glimpse of the first few words, he bolted out of his apartment, and ran to Luca's location, hoping that he was still there.
'To my dearest, Shu,
I will miss you. Today is when we part.'
He wasn't usually a fast runner, but the fear.. only now did he see it, the hints he dropped, the suspicious choice of words.
I am so fucking blind.
He arrived, only to be greeted by the paramedics, and Luca's mother, eyes filled to the brim with tears.
Luca.. he.. was gone.
"Ma'am.. We are sorry for your loss. He's been dead for an estimated 4 hours."
When he overheard it, tears threatened to spill from Shu's eyes.
He didn't even say goodbye.
He didn't even help him, not even notice a single thing.
Where did it all go wrong? Why did the unrequited love of his life have to leave?
Why.. was he so stupid.
They took his body down from the ceiling, and when they did, Luca seemed like he was sleeping. Peacefully, free from everything.
I wish I told him how I felt.

Weeks have passed, and with a new month, comes a new season. The arrival of spring.
Some may consider spring as the beginning of new life, such as the flowers and trees.
But to Shu, the new season is only a reminder of something that didn't last long, but left a painful mark. The cruel, and bitter summer.

'To my dearest, Shu,
I will miss you. Today is when we part.
It was very hard to gather the courage to do so, but I wrote you this letter, which is considered quite outdated, but I think it is easier to get rid of, by burning it, should you want to forget about me.
I can't describe what exactly came over me, but after days of feeling hopeless, and lost, I decided that on the 9th of July, I would be free. Free from everything holding me down.
I am sorry if I seemed clingy, but it was all a part of my plan to spend my final days with you, in hopes that I may change my mind, and maybe we could continue on as usual.
But, I still couldn't get the feeling out of me, and it's eating me up.
All I wish for is that you find someone, a special person who loves you for who you are, and won't leave you in this cruel world like I did.
Find your happiness. I love you, Even if you will never feel the same way. You gave me even the smallest bit of hope, in the dark.
