Work Text:

Leon stumbled out of the glorious, yet frightful castle of Ramón Salazar. Immediately, wind hit his face and he quickly remembered how high up was. He had just dealt with the noble himself, if one could even call him that. Salazar transformed into another monster right in front of Leon, and now his patience was wearing very thin. He slammed his fist against the button of a rickety elevator that would take him down to the ground level.

Leon stared out at the vast sea as the elevator came to life. He heard a noisy motor starting up, before he saw a boat down by the rocks.

“Krauser… Where does he think he’s taking her?” Leon mumbled to himself as he watched his former comrade drive out onto the water, Ashley trapped in the back of the boat. Leon followed it with his eyes, and realized Krauser’s destination was an island out in the distance.

Way too far to swim… I’ll have to find another way across. Leon thought to himself, feeling desperate.

Not saving Ashley wasn’t an option.

He just knew it wasn’t going to be easy.

Not that it had been so far.

When the elevator stopped, Leon found himself in an echoey cavern. He walked out, glancing around briefly, but it wasn’t unlike all the basements and dungeons he had found himself in already. One thing he did notice, however, was the fact that the stones making up the cavern walls were glistening with moisture.

Maybe there’s a way out nearby after all… Some hope joined Leon’s desperation, and made it a little more bearable.

He jogged through the cavern, the sound of his footfalls loud and bouncing off the walls. Sure enough, he soon recognized the familiar scent of seawater and found that the cavern opened up to the ocean. Leon let out a breath of relief as he saw a boat very similar to the one Krauser was driving, sitting in the water waiting for him.

“Luck’s on my side for once.” He smiled a little to himself, and made a quick dash over to the boat. He rested his hand on the stone ground, and jumped in, trying to figure out how to get it moving.

This time, Leon’s heart sank as he smoothed his finger over the keyhole, which was evidently empty. He clicked his tongue,

“...Or not.” He grumbled, annoyance creeping up in him along with everything else. Instantly he began to search for the key, but of course there wasn’t one to be located.

“Amazing.” Leon remarked sarcastically. He flopped back into the driver’s seat, gazing out at the ocean, which was bouncing in waves. Leon inhaled as deep as he could, before letting it all out in one big breath. He leaned his head back to stare at the ceiling of the cave instead.

He knew he should be hopping out of the boat in search of a key, but as soon as he sat, it was as if his legs were giving him no choice but to take a break.

And now that he was, Leon felt his body, that was trying to relax, tingle with adrenaline all the way through the tips of his fingers and toes. Not to mention, everything he had been pushing to the back of his mind was rushing to the forefront.

He wondered what’d it be like if he just kept sitting there, if he didn’t jump up and find that key, drive over to the island and save Ashley.

Don’t think like that. I have to save her.

At least her.

Just her, please.

Leon tried to get up, but his legs felt heavy, his feet glued to the floor. It was as if his whole body was paralyzed.

He swallowed thickly at the thought he had tried hardest not to let surface,

I can’t do this.

The sound of heeled footsteps on the ground was the only thing that broke Leon out of his trance. On pure instinct, his hand shot to the pistol in his hip holster, and he whipped his head nearly 180 degrees behind him.

His grip loosened when he saw it was Ada Wong approaching the boat.

“Relax.” Her smooth voice replaced the sound of her heels, echoing and sending a shiver down Leon’s spine. He wished he could’ve held it back.

“Ada… It’s you.” Leon gasped, once again relieved that it wasn’t something that wanted to kill him. Although, he wasn’t really sure how he felt about her showing up right then.

As usual, Leon couldn’t get a read on Ada. He still had no idea who hired her, or why she was even in Spain to begin with. He figured it had something to do with Las Plagas, but Leon didn’t know where he fit into her plan.

However, not surprisingly, his questions thus far had all been met with less-than-straight answers, or no answers at all. And yet there was still one question burning in the back of Leon’s mind as Ada’s piercing eyes gazed straight through his.

“Yeah. Are you looking for something?” She asked, one side of her mouth tugging into a half smile while she held up a small gold key. It swung from a chain looped around one of her gloved fingers, and she just looked so pleased with herself, Leon knew it had to be for the boat. He held out a hand as she closed her fingers over the key,

“Give me the key, Ada.” He tried to demand, but he could tell what the reply would be.

“Maybe. Where are you going?” Ada answered, folding her arms across her chest and inadvertently putting the key further out of reach. Leon exhaled, forcing himself to stand up from his seat,

“Will my answer determine whether you hand that key over?” Leon grunted as he pushed himself up on the cave floor and climbed out of the boat. He heard the annoyance seeping through his words, and he hadn’t wanted it to, but now that he had been pulled out of his thoughts, he knew he had no time to waste.

No time to play games with Ada.

Leon straightened his posture, and watched Ada lean her back against the stone wall. He couldn’t help but let his eyes wander down when she drew her leg up and glued the bottom of her foot to the wall, too.

Her legs were covered by thin black tights, and those godforsaken boots that came up above her knees, but Leon’s jaw threatened to slack at the sight of her sweater dress riding up her thigh.

Leon swallowed again, nervously,

No time to play games… right?

“Let’s find out…” Ada trailed off after giving yet another vague answer. Leon wasn’t sure how good of an idea it was to tell her, but before he could give it a second thought the words slipped off his tongue with no fear of consequence,

“There’s an island a ways out. Krauser took Ashley there.” He explained. Ada didn’t look surprised, but she stiffened noticeably. She drummed her fingers against her arm, which was still crossed with her other.

“Didn’t I tell you to leave the girl? You should just get out of here.” This time Ada sounded annoyed, a feeling Leon never thought she’d be able to express. He felt himself gravitate toward her,

“Didn’t I tell you I wasn’t going to give up that easily?” Leon’s tone was firm. He stood in front of her, mimicking her position with his arms crossed. His muscles were tense, hands clenched to the sides of his arms and desperate to stay still. He knew he was trying to convince himself to keep the wall up.

“I should’ve known… Doesn’t matter.” Even when Ada broke the wall, her hand touching his arm, Leon stayed still. His eyes were locked with hers, which were swirling around with mischief, and chaos.

Leon hated how he loved looking into them.

Ada tightened her grip on his arm, tugging him closer to her. The knee that was jutting out from the wall was in line with his hip, the leather of her thigh-high boot practically brushing the outside of it.

A lump was forming in Leon’s throat at how easily she had pulled him in.

He quickly realized he wasn’t made of stone.

“Wanna take a ride together handsome?” Ada spoke softly, giving Leon that half-smile that was making his knees weak. Her hand slid up his arm, that was more toned than she’d remembered, and soon it reached his shoulder.

I shouldn’t trust her.

She used me.

Shit, she’s probably using me right now.

He hoped he was wrong. But how could he be sure after everything he’d been through with her?

That one question whirled around in his head, and made his stomach churn.

Maybe.” Leon couldn't ask that question, not yet. He decided he’d be just as vague, instead. He was almost satisfied when Ada huffed out of her nose, her eyes rolling slightly,

“Leon…” She was trying to coo him into submission as the back of her finger brushed his cheek, her forearm resting against his shoulder.

“What business do you have over there?” Leon asked, trying not to lean into her touch. Ada barely chuckled,

“Just keeping an eye on things…”

“That’s not an answer. I want an answer.” Leon quickly followed up, and soon he felt metal brushing his cheek, along with another one of Ada’s fingers. It was the key, warmed slightly after being encased in her hand,

“Don’t you want the key more?” Ada asked, gazing up at him with half-lidded eyes. Her free hand grabbed Leon by the belt loop and yanked him closer to her hips.

Leon just let her, his head falling forward so his hair was in his eyes, and Ada’s lips were right beside his ear,

“Don’t you want to go save your stupid little girl scout?” She whispered. Leon’s eyebrow twitched in annoyance at that comment. He was contemplating ripping that key out of her hand and turning his back on her. He was also contemplating burying his face into her shoulder and letting her run a hand through his hair.

The latter seemed more likely as the feeling of her hand on his belt faded, and a new sensation raced down through his core when Ada grasped the back of his head. His locks that had grown a little too long were held tight between her fingers. Leon stifled a groan.

Ada’s other hand, which held the key to his cheek, slid down his body until it was back on his hip. She slipped the key into his pocket, but he didn’t didn’t move, not when his lips were inches from her neck, and his breath was quickening so exponentially that his head was spinning. Leon felt the heat between them, their bodies only inches apart and it was driving him insane.

“I…” He couldn’t get the words out. He couldn’t do anything but sit there and stutter, because Ada’s fingers continued to ghost over his hips, playing with his belt. Her hot breath was still in his ear, tickling it and sending another shiver down his spine.

Ada hummed against his ear and it shot to his brain like poison.

“Could it be… You want something else?” Her tone was chiding, but the pads of her fingers glided beneath the hem of his shirt.

All he had wanted was the key. All he had wanted was to get Ashley and go home.

And now that he had allowed Ada to pull him in, Leon knew then he didn’t want any of those things anymore.

“I wish I didn’t..” His voice was hushed, hurt, damn near bereaved.

He tried to remind himself that there wasn’t time to fall into her trap.

But Leon let his head tip further forward, until his lips were practically against the skin of her neck that wasn’t hidden beneath the turtleneck, right below her jaw,

“I’m so messed up because of you.” He whispered, and he wanted to be mean, like he hated her, but it just sounded like he needed her. He wanted to curse her for everything she had done to him, but he just planted his lips firmly to that spot on her neck, as if to drive home the need for her.

And God, did he need her.

Ada’s hands disappeared further beneath his shirt, tracing over his abs while he kissed her neck and up behind her ear. Leon felt Ada grinning to herself when he reached her jaw, and kissed there too.

Leon wished she would’ve stopped him, or said something, anything. She only ran her hands all over him, and now he wanted more.

He wanted more of every part of her.

Leon could say that he was stalling, taking a break from a mission that had worn him down so very badly. He could say Ada sucked him in and that he had no choice but to let her.

It wouldn’t have been the truth.

He knew what he wanted.

He wanted to taste her the way he had six years ago.

When he was blissfully ignorant of everything that hurt him now.

When he hadn’t doubted her for a second, and his mind hadn’t been swirling with the thoughts that made him want to put a gun to his head.

He wanted nothing more than to be transported to that time.

So he could say that Ada drew him in, and he could blame her for doing it to him every time. But he couldn’t deny the way his feet, which were paralyzed mere moments before, had found it so easy to walk toward her.

Leon’s hand fell flat against the stone wall behind her, caging her the way she had caged him with her knee, and her charm.

He hooked a finger into the collar of her turtleneck, pulling it down to expose her neck further. The kisses he left on her skin were hungrier now, and he pushed his body against hers so she was pinned to the wall. Ada’s hands were stuck between them now, under the fabric of his shirt. Her breathing, too, was becoming more erratic when Leon’s body met her own and he attacked her neck with a ferocity she didn’t know he had in him.

Leon had thrown caution to the wind long ago, not a doubt left in his head as his lips trailed back up her neck and kissed her lips instead. He watched Ada’s eyes widened, before falling closed and kissing him back. Her hands had escaped from his shirt, and were now around his neck again, pulling him down closer to her.

Soon, Leon had no choice but to rest his forearm against the wall. The stone scratched at his skin, and dug into Ada’s back, but neither of them cared. Leon’s hand found her thigh and grabbed the crook of her knee, tugging her hips in toward him so they could both get some friction. Ada let out a sigh at the feeling of Leon’s cock against her, the tiniest of movements causing her mouth to drop halfway open. Leon took the opportunity to shove his tongue into her mouth, determined to savor the taste of her and never forget it.

His cock was throbbing in his pants, growing harder with every shift between them, the way Ada’s tongue danced with his and the way they both gasped for air. The loaded gun holster around Ada’s shoulders clattered loudly into the wall the more Leon pressed her against it, and it was only then that he remembered just where they were. The sound of the waves crashing behind them nearly brought him back to reality.

Anyone could catch them, anything could sneak up and kill them. But Ada didn’t seem to care, and it nearly scared Leon how much he didn’t, either.

Leon ached for her, needed her in every sense of the word. The fabric of his clothes, and Ada’s felt constricting, and he wanted nothing more than to ditch them all, if only they weren’t in the most dangerous place imaginable. He longed for the feeling of her skin against his, but he settled for her hand in his hair again, and her nimble fingers undoing his belt.

Leon pulled away from their kiss that left his brain fuzzy and his chest heaving,

“What… are we doing…?” He asked through haphazard breaths, as Ada finished with his belt and started on the button of his pants.

“You started it, rookie.” Ada spoke coolly, but her breathing was labored too. Leon didn’t have time to ponder the validity of that statement once his zipper was down and Ada was pulling the waistband of his boxers down to free his cock.

“God so help me, Ada-” Leon squeezed his eyes shut with a gasp as Ada squeezed his cock. She ran her hand up and down its length, and Leon’s head fell backwards naturally, a groan leaving his throat. He was glad his hand was holding him against the wall or he might’ve toppled right over. Ada chuckled a little,

“We don’t have all day~” She reminded him, and Leon wished she hadn’t. He forced his head upright again, and glanced down to where Ada’s dress had begun to ride up her hips. Leon slipped his hands beneath the fabric to find the waistband of her tights, pulling them messily down her thighs once he did. Her panties went with them, and it wasn’t long until Ada was pulling him closer and his tip was at her entrance.

Leon stared at the scene before him, clearly distracted. He glanced back up at Ada’s eyes,

“Can I-?”

“Just do it. Stop thinking.” Ada nudged her hips forward the best she could while standing, practically begging him to fuck her without saying it. Leon nodded a little, pushing his cock slowly inside of her until there was nothing left to give. His face was buried into her shoulder, their bodies pressed as close together as they possibly could be. Ada felt a burn in her hip from her leg stuck halfway hooked around Leon’s waist, but it was short-lived once he started moving inside her.

Leon’s groans were muffled against her shoulder as he rolled his hips to find the right spot. He felt a smile creep up on his face, and some pride shoot through him when he moved and earned a surprised jump from Ada, along with a sigh.

“That feel good?” He murmured against her shoulder, continuing his pace in that one spot,

“Yes- Right there, Leon…” Ada said between moans. Her head tilted backwards to revel in the feeling, threatening to smack into the wall behind her. On instinct, Leon moved his hand that was leaning on the stone so that he caught the back of her head instead. He felt her soft hair in his palm, and couldn’t stop himself from running his fingers through it while he pumped.

“Ada, fuck-” Leon groaned, his thrusts becoming sloppier the more he ached for release. Ada grabbed the wrist of his free hand, planting the heel of it onto her clit. Leon didn’t hesitate to press circles into it, nearly coming when he heard Ada’s moans grow louder. It was obvious she liked the leather of his fingerless gloves, and so he pressed a bit harder.

“Leon-!” Ada cried, a little sharper than before.

“You close?” Leon panted, barely able to hold back the orgasm that was quickly approaching,

“Yes-” She replied, slack-jawed with eyes that were now filled with nothing but lust.

“Gonna come all over my cock, Ada?” Leon heaved, digging the heel of his hand into her clit. It burned, but Ada loved it, and it wasn’t long until her body was tingling all over and she came. Leon felt her legs shake, and she clenched tight around him as she whispered his name a few times under her breath. It was a miracle he had managed to pull out in time,

“Ada…” Leon sighed sharply, the last syllable drawn out as he came too. He nearly toppled over, but his weight on the wall held him. Ada held onto his outstretched arm, catching her breath, which was still hot on his skin. Leon leaned his forehead close to hers, in need of air in his lungs as well.

It took a few good minutes until both of their breathing was even, and Leon no longer felt like his brain was made of cotton. The warm, fuzzy feeling was gone, replaced by a familiar cold one. Ada tugged her dress down, and fixed her collar, and Leon redid his belt after shoving his cock back in his pants.

Ada walked over to the boat which was still waiting for them, and hopped in.

Leon was afraid to look at her. He smoothed out the front of his shirt, staring down at his boots.

He hated that everything became clear again.

He hated that he was no longer six years back, but stuck in Spain on a mission he didn’t want to be on, with the woman who he knew he couldn’t trust, but wished he could.

Leon wanted nothing more than to be holding her again, and yet he couldn’t look at her.

Not when it was once again six years later.

“We should get going.” Ada’s voice broke him out of his thoughts for the second time that night. She sounded too casual for what they had just done, but Leon expected that. He turned his head, slowly, to look at her. He saw her sitting in the driver’s seat, her arm draped over the back.

Just as slowly, Leon approached the boat, and jumped in too. It wobbled slightly in the water, and he fell backwards into the seat next to her. He dug into his pocket, handing her the key and leaning back.

The motor came to life, and soon they were under a full moon, on their way to the island.

That one question that he had wanted to ask her before was on the tip of his tongue:

Have you changed, Ada?

Leon wanted to know the answer, badly.

He wanted just as bad her answer to be anything other than what he expected.
