And I know I'll someday fall
For if my god should drop me
There'll be no way to stall
Today I am your champion
I may have won your trust
But I know the game, you'll regret my fame
And I'll be a threat
You want in your debt
If I don't stop pulling heists
I am the the Thief of Eddis
And I've had to learn my trade
The things I did not know at first
I learned the hardest way
Ah, but I still have no companion
No peer to equal me
So I learn to dance with ten knives in my hands
I leap housetops and I run till I drop
And yet still I have to train

I'm dressed in cloth of gold
I wear all kinds of sparkles
They distract you from my role
But when the night is darkest
I creep through silent halls
Steal into rooms silent as the tomb
Take what I must
To guard my Queen's trust
And nobody sees at all

Been all across the land
I've snuck into every palace
And learned to take my stands
I remember every stranger
I know everybody's name
But they won't learn mine
And I'll spend my time
Finding every fact
Seeing through their acts
Because observation is my game

I take from you your peace
I'd you would harm my people
You'll sleep in fear of me
I'll still protect my nation
From armies and from kings
No assassin, I,
But you just might die
If you mean Eddis ill
I will find the will
And you just won't have the time

I can steal anything
You've heard my latest exploits
I robbed a temple of the gods
Ah, it took me years to do it
It's the best heist of the age
It was a foolhardy plot
But it went off like a shot
If you're gonna pull the tricks
You gotta take your risks

A cipher in the dark
But its a narrow lead, they all want me dead
And I won't be here in another year
If I don't escape their guards.
