Work Text:
I don’t wanna go
But baby, we both know
This is not our time
It’s time to say goodbye
Until we meet again
‘Cause this is not the end
It will come a day
When we will find our way
Wednesday was staring out the window, the bright full moon cast shadows on the vast forest outside of the Addams manor. One name endlessly playing in her head. Enid. One faithful day when she decided to leave the confines of their home. Enid had been a bright light, illuminating everything in her path, attracting everyone and her a desolate moon, casting shadow everywhere. A moon chasing the sun, she would follow Enid wherever she wishes to go. If only she was given the chance to remain by her side. If only she was worthy of her wolf, maybe she would be by her side and experience life, rather than sitting in her childhood bedroom longing for her wolf.
Flashback
“Willa. Please.” Enid begged her girlfriend, ex-girlfriend. Throwing away any sense of dignity and self-respect, she knelt in front of the raven. Clutching on her waist as she cries her eyes out. “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I didn’t mean too. I was drunk.”
The raven remained stoic and uncaring. One hand remained at the door knob while the other holding her luggage. Lurch already took most of her stuff from their shared apartment. It was only a courtesy to Enid did she conveniently forgot some things in order to say goodbye. An Addams always pay their dues and Enid, no matter how much hurt she was from her cheating, deserve so much more after saving her life multiple times during their Nevermore years.
“Goodbye Sinclair” Wednesday said, frowning. Bracing herself to leave her heart before yanking the door opened. Walking away from their home without sparring any glances to the owner of her heart. Each step she takes away from Enid, shatters her heart piece by piece like needles pricking each and every corner of heart. The Addams curse throbbing in her veins, screaming for her to run back to her soulmate’s arms yet she chose to run away from her. “Lo siento mi corazon. Maybe in another life, we will cross paths again.”
Violins playing and the angels crying
When the stars align then I’ll be there
It has been fiver years, but those memories remained vivid in her mind. How desperately she hoped that everything is just a vision of hers but she knew deep in her well-guarded shattered heart, that it was her reality. That at one point in her shared life with her beloved, she wasn’t enough. That Wednesday Addams is not enough for Enid Sinclair or that Enid wasn’t ready to succumb to the love of an Addams. They were teens, barely an adult. Mistakes happened but she trusted Enid so much that she freely gave her the reins to her heart only for her to carelessly throw it away. Only for her to cheat on her.
“Wednesday” Pugsley knocked on her door. Breaking her from her reverie. “It’s time.” He announced outside of her bedroom. “Okay.” Wednesday replied from her room, barely moving from her position. Finally, it is time to see everyone again after choosing to protect herself from the inevitable heartbreak from the werewolf. She longed to be just like her uncle Fester but it is too late now. One being. One fucking werewoman owned her heart. One Enid Sinclair owned her heart. To desire someone so unattainable for one Wendesday Addams. Fate is such a cruel thing.
“I’m coming Pugsley.”
