Notes:

It's been a while since I actually originally wrote this and it's been a while since I actually posted something. And since it's pride month and I love lesbians I have decided to give you this short fluffy Natsyuri date I had sitting in my google docs.

Work Text:

They’re both sitting on the floor of Yuri’s room. There's a slightly awkward silence looming between them. It’s the first time natsuki is over at Yuri’s house, usually they just prefer to go shopping or to little cafes for their dates but the rainy weather forced them to stay in.

Natsuki is holding a round cat plushie in her hands. As she looks around the room to make herself comfortable she plays with the cat ears on it. There’s a tray of small foods in front of them, to make it feel like they’re on a picnic.

Yuri plays with the ends of a hair strand as she looks at Natsuki. She’s red in the face. It feels intimate to have someone in her room alone. They’ve been dating for nearly three months and only now Yuri had been brave enough to invite Natsuki into her home.

They’re sitting almost perfectly in the middle of a soft gray rug, surrounded by of course her bed and at least two bookcases, next to them is a bed and behind Yuri there's a weirdly small desk, Natsuki notes a separate closet and another smaller dresser with short but wide drawers. It seems old and unnaturally large for a socks drawer. Nothing out of place is on Yuri’s floors and the only real peek at color is a large bushy house plant next to her desk. Natsuki figures all the mess is most likely stuffed somewhere under her bed or in the closet.

“Your room looks exactly like how I thought it would,” Natsuki says. “It’s so clean:” Yuri snorted shyly. “Of course it’s clean. I wouldn't have someone over without cleaning it, not yet at least,” Yuri says and smiles.

“What is that supposed to mean,” Natsuki says, puffing her chest out, clearly exaggerating how offended she actually is, and bites out a small grin. “Do you not trust me enough to let me see your dirty laundry?” she continues playfully.

“No, it means I want to make myself good so you’ll think highly of me.” Yuri smiles and takes a handful of grapes from in front of them.

“Oh baby I already think highly of you, there’s no need to put in extra effort, any higher and I’ll actually think you’re my god and worship the ground you walk on.” Natsuki also takes grapes and starts popping them in her mouth one at a time.

The nickname makes Yuri widen her eyes and blush furiously. She nearly chokes on a grape. She laughs nervously. “Woah there Darling, we don’t want you to choke now do we?” Natsuki says smugly. it’s evident on her face too how embarrassed she is from the nicknames.

“God Natsuki you can’t just call me that, I’ll have a heart attack,” Yuri says and almost aggressively combs her fingers through her hair. Natsuki leans in closer towards Yuri.

“Oh but you’re so cute, aren’t you my love.” Despite also being incredibly embarrassed Natsuki keeps up her teasing.

Yuri groans in frustration and grabs a hold of Natsuki’s face. “God you’re so cute,” Yuri says. Then Natsuki is captured in a passionate kiss. Yuri moves her hands from Natsuki’s cheeks to her neck and hair. Natsuki is so into it. She grabs a hold of Yuri’s shoulders. It's almost aggressive and nearly bruising, but still enjoyable. As both of the girls get used to it the pace slows, almost as if they’re melting into each other. They stay there for a while, just appreciating each other's lips.

Natsuki nearly falls on their food. This ends their moment. Yuri gives a last small peck on Natsuki's lips and then lets her go. Natsuki attempts to straighten her hair out with her fingers. Yuri keeps her eyes on Natsuki and smiles. It’s wide and bright, almost blinding. The plushie Natsuki was holding was nearly on their platter of small foods.

Yuri suddenly starts scooting towards her bed. She leans on it and pats the space next to her. Natsuki takes this as a sign to go sit next to her. She brings the platter with her and she sets it next to Yuri as she seats herself to the other side of Yuri. Yuri seems happy with this. Yuri hooks her arm around Natsuki’s and connects their hands. Yuri then leans her head on Natsuki’s and plants a small kiss in her hair.

“I can’t believe this is real.” Yuri’s voice is dreamy as he sighs. Natsuki lifts Yuri's hand to give it a kiss. “I’m so obsessed with you, I wish I could just keep you with me forever;” Yuri continues. “You don’t have to keep me, I’ll just stay here as close as possible, you’ll never get rid of me, even if you wanted to.” Natsuki rubs Yuri’s hand with her thumb.

As Yuri looks down at her girlfriend she feels the love inside her overflowing. She wants to be closer. She wants to press her as close as possible, so close that every part of them is connected. And she wants to never let her go.  Yuri shows thes by squeezing her hand and nuzzling her face in Natsuki’s hair. She almost squeals from the sheer amount of feelings she’s feeling. “God I love you so much.”

Natsuki responds to this by pressing in closer and moving her other hand to Yuri’s thigh. “I love you too.” Natsuki doesn’t know if she’ll ever get used to saying that but she means it with her whole heart.

“Please stay over tonight,” Yuri says. “I wasn’t planning on leaving,” Natsuki answers.

It’s as if there was never any awkwardness. The atmosphere is now calm and the only thing running through either of their heads is how happy they are spending their time with their oh so lovely and sweet girlfriend.

It’s so quiet, the only sound in the room now is the rain outside softly hitting Yuri’s window mixed with their soft breathing. Yuri keeps her eyes open and glued to Natsuki’s chest, looking at the rise and fall of it to the rhythm of her breathing. Natsuki continues to look around the room, now out of sheer curiosity instead of her earlier nervousness.

“Hey Yuri what’s in that dresser of yours, do you have that many socks?” Natsuki asks as she points at the dark old worn down dresser. Natsuki doesn’t really know what makes her ask this question, but doesn’t think it’s all that weird to ask. She thinks it would be natural to want  to know everything there is to know about her girlfriend, even the deepest nooks and crannies of her furniture.  Also the type of socks you wear can tell a lot about you.

Natsuki starts to doubt her question when Yuri takes a long time to answer. It’s not that weird is it? Natsuki almost starts to worry, nearly going on a tangent about how, it’s not in a creepy underwear stealing sort of way but in a I want to know everything about you, way. finally yuri does answer, but it’s more vague than Natsuki was hoping for.

“It’s not for socks.” Natsuki stares at Yuri. That doesn’t answer her question. Now she’s grown even more curious. “Can I look in there?” Natsuki doesn’t know if she should be excited or scared. Yuri seems hesitant to nod but does so, before shifting away from Natsuki to try and get up from sitting on the floor.

Yuri helps Natsuki up from the floor. Natsuki is almost dragging Yuri behind her as she walks the short distance from the bed to the dresser.

Natsuki slides one of the drawers open. her mouth opens wide and her eyes blink rapidly in disbelief. The dresser is full of knives. they’re all in neat order and they’re shiny and sharp. There's a huge variety of shapes, sizes, colors and designs. Natsuki does not know what to say, but it’s apparent that a lot of care and dedication has been put into her collection.

“I hope you don’t think any less of me.” Natsuki turns her head towards Yuri but she can’t meet her eyes. Yuri is avoiding eye contact and her face is flushed.

“I would never.” Natsuki smiles at her as she inspects a knife closely in her hands. She picked out one with a beautiful carving of a rose on the handle. A quietness filled the room as Natsuki picked up different knives and inspected them before carefully placing them back in their dedicated spots.

The silence is broken with a question. “Would you like to paint one with me?” This makes Natsuki smile brightly as she nods as an answer.

Yuri sets up a place for them to sit and paint and pulls out a knife with a plain handle for her and Natsuki.

As the two girls sit close together with the knives in hand they feel closer to each other than ever before. Somehow trusting Natsuki with a knife of hers feels more intimate than anything Yuri could ever imagine. Natsuki felt the same. That’s how they spent the rest of the night, together, thighs touching as their hands were working carefully to make art.

When Natsuki gets home the next day she hides the knife Yuri painted in the drawer of her bedside table. If Natsuki sneaks a peek at the beautiful knife in her drawer every night after before sleeping, she is not telling anyone. She doesn’t mention to anyone the butterflies she feels in her stomach as she holds any knife from then on.
