Chapter Text
Katsuki can’t escape. Everywhere, all over Japan, it is being broadcasted that Japan’s Top 2 heroes are finally getting married. Well fuck that. He can’t believe he chose that supid half n’ half bastard over him. Except he can. Katsuki doesn’t deserve Deku. As much as he wants to think he’s perfect he knows he’s far from it.
He stares up at the TV in the bar where he’s at, and is dismayed to find those green eyes on the screen. His freckles. Curly green hair. Katsuki throws back the rest of his drink wanting to forget. To drown his sorrows. Keep the thoughts at bay. He can’t get him out of his head. But Katsuki knows it’s no use. Everywhere he’s reminded of the Number 1 Hero, the fact that he’s marrying the Number 2 Hero. Another drink goes down. Here keeps them coming. He drinks till his mind is fuddled and cloudy. He glances once more at the man on the TV, relishing the image of the boy he grew up with, before walking out of the bar.
Katsuki doesn’t know where he’s going. Before he knew it, he found himself in a dark street. All of a sudden he hears someone behind him. In his drunken stupor his first reaction was to fight. He swings his fist and it collides with the man’s jaw.
Sirens.
Lights.
Noise.
Katsuki slowly comes to when the police show up. One grabs his hands and cuffs them behind his back. Katsuki can’t comprehend why on Earth he’s being arrested till he looks over at the man that he hit. He doesn’t remember anything after the first punch but he can tell that the man was in rough shape. Shit.
As they get to the police station, they ask Katsuki who he’s gonna call. Without thinking he rambled off Deku’s number. By the time he realizes what he’s done the phone is already ringing.
“Kacchan?”
“…Deku”
“Why are you calling me? You know I’m busy tonight.”
“I…was arrested”
“Fuck. I can’t deal with this Kacchan. I’m finally happy and I won’t let you ruin this for me. Goodbye”
The line clicks dead. Katsuki can’t believe he hung up on him, but what could he expect. He had gotten married that night and he didn’t expect Deku to come rescue him when he should be enjoying himself. The cops look at him with pity, but Katsuki couldn’t even think about being mad because all of his focus was on not letting himself cry. He could feel the knot in throat, and the headache that comes with the kind of sobbing that leaves you wrecked. He was led to a cell where he spent the night before his lawyer got him in the morning. One of the perks of being a pro hero he supposes.
Katsuki doesn’t think. He had seen Deku on the top of this building many times, when he thought no one was watching. It only makes sense that here’s where he should be. He walks up the steps through the building till he got to the top.
The view is nice.
A tear spills from his eye.
He walks to the edge and jumps without hesitation. He hates himself. He’s useless. He only causes problems.
His last thought was about how he had told Deku to take a swan dive off the roof. How ironic.
