After all it is still you...

Summary:

...her tall boots made barely any sounds and the gloves on her hands prevented any nasty fingerprints in case the mayor would want to start an investigation, which was highly unlikely because his clientele would pop up for many cold cases, while Sophie would walk out of here unscathed.

That was the plan at least, but of course that was not the thing that happened.

or...

Being a Villain is really not the kind of job most parents want for their children, luckily Sophies didn't want her either. She has grown out of the trauma that comes with rejection and has learned to live with it. Bit by bit allowing other people to come close to her. She would go as far as to call them family.
Unless that someone is Thunder, the Villain that even her nightmares are afraid of. The self-centered guy with an Ego so big it overshadows the moon at night.

Chapter 1: New beginnings-Cath

Chapter Text

"I never thought, that I would see you nervous Sophie. Are you ok?"

"I am not nervous Mizu. I´m totally fine."

The girl in the pastel-blue dress laughed so hard that the hairstylist had to give her a warning stare, because she was destroying her own hair, that was pulled to an intricate bun at the back of her head. It looked like her hair was made out of many vines that curled around, being pinned in place by at least two dozen little pins.

The teen sat still again and looked at the woman she was teasing.

"You have been spinning your engagement ring like crazy. I have seen you do all sort of dangerous things, but a wedding is freaking you out?"

The woman with the blond hair gave a short laugh.

Her long hair was falling in soft curls over her shoulders. Some strands were pulled back to make it look like she wore a small headband, adorned with little pearls and crystals, that were glued to the locks. Another stylist was carefully brushing highlighter on her cheeks, finishing the make-up look on her, while she was still spinning the ring on her finger, fidgeting with the thing that got her here.

Mizu and Cath were already dressed in their bridesmaid outfits, Sophie was still in her silky white robe.

"The problem is not that it is a wedding. The problem is that it is MY wedding. This is a once in a lifetime thing and I don't know...I just never expected to get this far, don't get me wrong I am ready to spend the rest of my days with Quilt and so on. But we will be looking back at this day for the rest of our lifes and I just want it to be perfect, because I feel like we should be able to get something good once and I really don't want to disappoint myself or Quilt or anyone else here. All the people I care about are here and I just want everyone to be happy, but what if-"

"Sophie..."

The girl who had been quiet for most of the talking interrupted softly.

Her heterocromatic eyes looked at the blonde with a knowing smile.

"I know."

Cath really did know. Sophie still remembered when the two had first met.

She had been no older than 14, Cath was around 12 and clearly lost.

They had met in a group home for foster-kids.

Sophie had been considered "too old" for many families and Cath herself had trouble finding a home due to her mismatched eyes and the additional stares that such a child would bring.

While Sophie preferred to stay quiet and had nearly always found a place to sit in some corner reading, Cath had started to sit beside her, drawing. No talking, no real interaction or even acknowledgement from any of them, that the other was there, they just each got lost in their own worlds, enjoying the silent company of the other.

There had been a few incidents, where other children had been trying to bully Cath for her condition, however they all seemed to get into weird accidents, missing steps on the stairs, being below a falling lamp or heavy books, that none of the kids could have pushed off the shelves falling on them in the middle of the night. After a while they had decided to leave her alone, since she was a "witch".

It had been good enough for Cath and Sophie had, very annoyed agreed to stop her antics, when Cath had asked her to.#

Sophie smiled, when she thought back at this time.

Even when she had never talked with Cath about their powers, it was as if they just knew and trusted each other, no words needed.

Sophie was well aware, that the pretty flowers, she had in a little pot, were not supposed to bloom all the time and especially not that colorful. She had no talent with plants and most barely survived a couple months.

The two had formed a great bond, that had stayed even when Sophie moved out with seventeen, getting her own little shitty apartment and working a job at a Café close by. She had not once minded the other girl basically living in her place, coming every day after school and sometimes, when it had been a difficult day, staying till the next morning.

They were not like sisters or friends, their bond had been something different, something so powerful, that when the new smaller Villain "Violet" appeared on screen for the first time, Cath had been sitting at Sophie´s apartment giggling with excitement and asking all sorts of questions about it.

There had been no doubt, that Cath was on Sophie´s side. Just like Violet had always been ready to be an emergency backup for Calico.

Cath had been the first one to hear about Quilt and the one who squealed the loudest when she heard about the engagement.

Sophie looked at Cath in her pastel-blue dress.

"Thanks Cath."
