Work Text:
A note in her locker asking to meet at the outside cafeteria wasn’t something Osana experienced very often, or ever for that matter. Especially since this particular note said something about stalkers and blackmail, so she was obviously curious. After all, it had to be someone who knew about him , right? Maybe it was Raibaru? No, Raibaru wouldn’t go through the trouble of writing her a note, she would just talk to her. So who could this mystery person be?
That was the question plaguing Osana’s mind as she made her way to the meeting spot. It was after school, so there weren’t many people around. As she kept walking, there was a weird feeling of anxiety pooling in her stomach, almost as if she were expecting something bad to happen. But that was just her paranoia, right? Nothing bad was actually going to happen, she was just worried over nothing. Silly Osana, always being scared for no reason.
But as she reached the outdoor cafeteria, her eyes narrowed. What was that? Was that…a person lying on the ground? The orange hair, the leg warmers…that was Raibaru! Why was Raibaru lying on the ground? Without another thought, Osana rushed over, calling out Raibaru’s name. As she got closer, she could see blood on her uniform. She dropped to her knees, desperately shaking the unconscious girl in an attempt to wake her up. It didn’t work. She could feel tears forming as the realisation settled in. She was dead… Her best friend was dead.
In all of her desperation and crying, Osana failed to notice a black haired girl sneaking up behind her with a knife. The next few moments were a blur. She felt a hand on her mouth and pain in her chest before she collapsed on the ground. She reached for her chest instinctively. Was she…bleeding? She pulled her hand away and, sure enough, it was covered in blood. She looked past her hand at the body of her best friend lying next to her, her eyes closed as if she were sleeping peacefully. The last thing Osana saw was Raibaru’s lifeless body beside her. The last things she heard were the footsteps of the person who’d stabbed her, followed by the sound of the nearby manhole. The last thing she felt was the pain from the knife and the pain from knowing that she couldn’t do anything to save the one she cared about most.

A teacher walks around after school, telling all of the remaining students to leave. While walking, the teacher discovers two corpses on school grounds and calls the police, and the remaining students are forced to remain at school until they arrive. When the police get there, they discover the corpses of Osana Najimi and Raibaru Fumetsu. They cannot, however, locate any murder weapons. After investigating as thoroughly as they can, the police conclude that they do not have enough evidence to identify the killer, and the students are free to go home.
Taro, who is devastated by the loss of his childhood friend, returns home in a pit of despair. As he enters his house, a black haired girl watches from the shadows.
“Don’t worry, Senpai. You’re safe now.”
