Summary:

The ever awaited sequel to 'Breathe'
It's been 2 months since the end of 'Breathe'. Things are finally starting to settle for the Bangtan pack. Reader, Jimin and Yoongi are all due to have simultaneous heats soon and emotions start to rise again among the pack.

Notes:

The tone of this story is meant to be MUCH lighter than its predecessor. Those of y'all who have been tuned in for a while know that I can't go too long without any angst. So there's SOME angst. It's not full of trauma and devastation, moreso growing pains of the pack getting used to having a new member as well as tying up the few loose ends from the previous installment.

Chapter 1: One

Chapter Text

“Good morning! How’s my sweet girl today?” Namjoon wakes you up with a kiss on the back of your hand.

“Mmm…” you stir. “Better now that I’ve heard your voice. I-“ the time on the clock has you bolting upright.

“It’s 7:30! Why’d you wake me up?!” The sweetness in your tone evaporates.

You were a girl who liked her beauty sleep.

“You only have a precious couple of weeks before your heat, Yeobo. Lots of things to do today. We need to go to Itaewon to get your hair stuff. Little bit of shopping, therapy and dinner with our parents.”

Just hearing all of that made you dizzy. You hate being busy like this. Why the hell did you agree to do all of this shit in a single day?

“Can we do at least one of those things tomorrow? That’s… a lot. Maybe switch therapy days?”

You’d been struggling with the sex therapist. Not because Namjoon is uncooperative or the therapist isn’t good. It’s all you. Every time you try to think about having sex, you panic.

At this point you don’t know what the hell is wrong with you. You’re already sharing a bed with Namjoon. He holds you every night, whispering how much he loves you into your skin. You’ve been bolder with acts of intimacy. Allowing him to kiss other parts of your body besides your face and neck. All of it feels divine. Feels right. He feels right.

Why the hell can’t you seem to get past that point? Its starting to annoy you. Especially because Namjoon and this therapist are so goddamn patient. You’d think Joon would at least be frustrated by how often you cockblock him or shut him down in the middle of a fun, sexy time. He has a healthy sexual appetite that you feel terrible for messing with.

It should be wonderful that someone like him feels a genuine attraction to you. He’s literally one of the most beautiful men on the entire planet and he chose you With thinking like that it’s no wonder you don’t feel worthy of his love.

Namjoon sits next to you in bed, rousing you from your depressive thoughts.

“How about we do shopping tomorrow?” He suggests.

“And Itaewon?” You beg him. There just isn’t enough time or energy in the world right now. Your impending heat has you more fatigued than you’ve ever been.

“We can’t put itaewon off again, Yeobo. It can be a quick trip, just in and out. The sooner we get that, the sooner we can take care of your hair. You said under no circumstances would you enter a heat without braids and we're running out of time.

Fuck you did say that. Fuuuck.

“Okay…” you fall back to your pillows. “But I’m bringing Jimin. He’s my battery. I won’t make it through half of this shit without him.”

Namjoon laughs. Yoongi hyung says the same thing abt Hobi. Hell, Namjoon says the same thing about Hobi. He can understand where you’re coming from.

“Of course he can come. Tell him he’s buying his own shit. You’re the only omega I want to spoil like that.” Namjoon gets up to prepare your breakfast.

“Okay…”

Your well-meaning alpha is the biggest pushover in the world. One pout from Jimin with those beautiful eyes and Namjoon is finished.

Jimin and Namjoon are completely floored when they see the beauty supply store in all of its grandeur. You can understand why your omega counterpart is shocked, but Namjoon saw the entire store layout online. No one can tell you why this idiot is speechless.

“So ... you buy hair in packages?” Jimin stands next to you while you try to locate your preferred brand of braiding hair.

“You’ve heard of a wig, haven’t you?” You’ve almost found it, but Jimin is nothing if not distracting.

“Yeah…”

“Same idea. We just braid it into our hair. Don’t overthink it, sweet cheeks. Found it! Oh god, can you please go get Namjoon?”  You pretend not to know the tall alpha playing with the multicolored wigs on the other side of the store.

This is the man you’re supposed to marry…

“Do I need to put you back on the leash or are you going to behave?” You ask Namjoon in a stern, almost motherly tone.

“I’ll behave! This place is just so cool, Yeobo. I think I might get something for me too. They have everything !”

He sounds like a child on Christmas.

“Excuse me!” He flags down a store attendant. “What do you recommend for color damaged hair? Really? All of these options?”

Like Christmas and Halloween combined.

After you calm your alpha down you go back to your own shopping. Jimin helps you pick out a color. You’ll mostly stick with your own hair shade. But a bright pop of color never hurt anyone.

Unfortunately Jimin is as indecisive as you are. He has you stuck between all three primary colors. You end up getting one pack of each. There’s enough people back at the dorm for you to be able to narrow it down to one.

You’re also able to get your favorite hair brand, face and body products. Mielle shampoo and conditioner, black girl sunscreen, whipped s hea butter and a stick of cocoa butter so big it’ll last you at least a year.

Namjoon and Jimin are fascinated by the cocoa butter. Especially the fragrance.

“You’re going to be wearing this every day, Yeobo?” Namjoon asks after sniffing the cocoa butter for the dozenth time.

“Yeah… and?” You snatch it from him, only to have Jimin take it from you so he can get his turn.

“I don’t know about that. The others won’t be able to resist you if you walk around smelling this good.” Namjoon is 95% joking. He has the utmost faith in his pack. But they’re idiots. Just like he is.

“I’ll take my chances. I’ve been dying for some of this stuff. It smells like home.”

“Alright… don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

Namjoon makes Jimin give you back all of your products so he can pay for them. He’s in love with this store and how unique it is compared to a typical Korean store. It’s almost like he got a glimpse into your life back in Detroit.

As usual, Jimin begs to take a slight detour since you’re in the Itaewon district. “They make a really good Kimchi Jigae at this one place nearby!” Jimin puts on his cutest pout.

“We have a lot to do today, Jimin. I’ll bring you back out another time.” Namjoon pockets his wallet after paying for everything, including the few items Jimin put on the counter at the very last second.

Jimin is aware of your packed schedule. He knows part of the reason you brought him is because this schedule is so packed. Namjoon said you were frustrated with therapy but also insanely nervous about meeting his parents. Jimin doesn't yet have a mate, but he remembers being nervous when he met the other members' parents and when they met his. It can be intimidating on so many different levels.

“Okay fine.” Jimin gives in without a fuss. “Can we at least get boba? It’ll soften her nerves.” Jimin puts his arm around your waist.

Namjoon agrees to the boba. What he wishes he’d known was that Jimin would use this time to convince you to let him sit in on your appointment with the sex therapist.

“Now why the hell would I agree to that?” Namjoon says from the backseat of Jimin’s car.

“Well first of all, that’s an interesting tone to take considering that I’m essentially chauffeuring your ass all over the city. And letter number b) your last long-ish term sexual partner was me . So I don’t see why my input wouldn’t be valuable. (Y/n) has a block she can’t get through. Maybe a fresh perspective will help?”

Namjoon hates that everything Jimin said was perfectly logical. Not just the part about therapy but even the driving.

“Maybe it won’t hurt, Yeobo.” You suggest from the passenger seat. “I’m open to it, but only if you’re comfortable. Otherwise Jimin can wait, right chim chim?”

Jimin chuckles darkly. “Of course I’ll wait. Although, I do agree with my twin flame. It won’t hurt.”

Namjoon weighs his options for the entire car ride. Your therapy sessions are meant to be private. It’s not even about Namjoon and his own pride. He doesn’t want your worst insecurities made known to anyone you don’t want. You’re not afraid to be yourself among your pack, but to the rest of the world you’re a broken mess.

Unless it’s your pack or one of your fellow victims, you don’t like people knowing things about you.  Jimin is no mere stranger though. It’s not like you haven’t already told him how you’ve been feeling about this. In fact he knows everything. If you’re okay with it, Namjoon should be too.

“Alright, fine. Only if you behave . She’s stressed enough, don’t-“ Namjoon doesn’t even get his full warning out before Jimin slams on the brakes.

Jimin holds his arm out so your head doesn't bang against the dashboard. He'll always protect you, even from his own recklessness.

“Watch yourself, alpha, before I throw you out of this car.” Jimin turns all the way around in his seat, his eyes flickering from brown to grey. “I know how to talk to and about her. I’ve been doing that since I met her, or don’t you remember?”

“Put the car in park! Put the car in park!” You scramble with the gear shift when the car starts rolling forward after Jimin’s foot slips off the brake.

He does so with ease and indifference. Go figure.

“I’m here for her in the first place, you ignoramus!” Jimin scolds the alpha.

Namjoon stutters out an apology. He's still not used to this temperamental side of Jimin even though he really should be. It’s come out a lot more since they met you, but that’s only because Jimin gets angry when he feels like you’re not safe. When he feels like his pack members are jeopardizing you and your well-being in any way, Jimin goes ballistic.

“Okay, you’re right, I’m sorry Jimin. I didn’t mean it that way. We want the same thing, for (y/n) to have an easier time with therapy.” Even when he’s cornered, Namjoon always knows what to say. Lucky for him. Otherwise Jimin would have killed him and slapped his corpse.

“You owe me kimchi jigae.” Jimin turns back around in his seat. He puts the car in drive and flips an unsafe U-turn.

Namjoon knows better than to argue at this point. He’s outnumbered. While you would usually be on his side, he knows when it comes to Jimin you’re likely to side with your omega soulmate.

You can tell that Namjoon is worried about the schedule and all the things that still need to be done today.  “It won’t take too long, Yeobo. Besides I’m hungry and don’t roast me but I’ve never had kimchi jigae.”

Jimin almost pulls over again. Instead he just picks up the speed.  “My poor (y/n) has never been blessed by the god of kimchi jigae?! Unacceptable!”

“Slow down! What are you doing!” Namjoon shouts from the backseat.

“Get a license then you can talk about my driving.” Jimin taunts.

You’re confused by that statement for a multitude of reasons.

“Yeobo, you can’t drive?” You turn to look at him.

“I can drive fine, I just don’t have a driver's license.” Namjoon explains, lifting up his sunglasses to wink at you.

“Yeah he’s one of the smartest minds in Korea but he can’t pass a driving exam.” Jimin taunts.

“Don’t worry, Yeobo, I’ll help you. It took me a while to pass my driving exam but now I literally take road trips across the country. You just need practice.” You encourage Namjoon.

“Let’s save that adventure until after our heats.” Jimin interjects. “You have enough going on, baby girl.”

How Jimin can manage to be the bad influence but also the voice of reason is just astonishing at this point.  The male omega agrees to compromise once you reach your destination, a lovely, chic eatery with pastel furniture and decor. You’re blown away by the sheer artistry of the establishment.

“One hour.” Namjoon reminds Jimin. “That’s all we can spare. She has the personal shopper appointment at 2.”

“What’s a personal shopper?” You ask as you try to pull your chair out to sit. Namjoon beats you to it, pulling out your chair, waiting for you to sit so he can place your handkerchief in your lap.

Jimin nearly squeals. “Stop it, you’re so cute!” He kisses your cheek before claiming the second seat Namjoon pulled out.

“What! What did I say?!” You cover your cheeks but the two young men can tell by your scent that you’re plenty bashful.

“Nothing. We just love you.” Namjoon sits across from you. “A personal shopper is just someone who helps pick out clothes and outfits. We can’t really shop like we want to without cameras so personal shoppers are a big help.”

You take in the new information while someone brings water and tea.

“I thought we were gonna go shopping tomorrow?” You can’t help your little pout.  It was supposed to be one less thing to do today.

“We were but I thought about it, and it makes more sense to just go today. Plus, Jimin said he wanted to get you a new outfit for tonight.”

As if you weren’t already apprehensive about that meeting. Now you’re realizing that they don’t think your commonplace dress will be enough to impress Namjoon’s parents.

Why would they? It’s old and cheaply made with dull colors. The least you could have done was put some funds together to buy something nicer. Or even borrow something from Faith since she brought a few formal-ish outfits with her.

Jimin moves his chair closer to yours, pulling you to him and urging you to rest your head on his shoulder.

“It’s not like that, (y/n).” He whispers. “Not at all. We already think you’re so amazing and beautiful. It’s not that, okay? The outfit was my idea because I wanted to spoil you. I’m sorry for making you think that way.”

He casually scents you, something not often done in public. It does wonders for you fragile state of mind. Jimin doesn’t let up until he feels you relax next to him.

“Do you believe me?” Jimin presses a kiss to the side of your head.

You can only nod. It’s just like you to be hard on yourself.

Luckily the kimchi jigae is brought out soon after and Jimin was right, it’s incredible

Namjoon sneaks a video of you trying your first bite. If he wanted to personify the word ‘adorable’ all he would have to do would be to watch you eat. You make little sounds with every bite, your skin getting a little flushed, scent running extremely sweet and pleasant. Namjoon gets a little jealous when Jimin asks if he can feed you a few bites, to which you oblige.

You don’t understand why they all love feeding you so much. If you didn’t love them it would seem weird. But Faith, of all people, reminded you that sometimes feeding can be its own act of intimacy. The boys all just want to be close to you. It really can’t hurt.

Much to your frustration, Jimin stays true to his word and wraps up the meal after an hour has passed. If you had your way you never would have left this restaurant. The food was so good.

“Can we serve this at our wedding?” You ask Namjoon.

“We can serve whatever you want, Yeobo.” The head alpha opens the passenger side door of Jimin’s car for you like the gentleman he is.

You really do have the best Alpha in the world.
