Kameron and Maxwell were in Kam’s car, they were driving to a campsite nearby. Maxwell had suggested they go camping about… 2 weeks ago? Kameron agreed to it and now here we are, going camping! Throughout the whole drive there, Maxwell had been ranting about the new things he discovered at his work, StarEve laboratory. Kameron listened to him throughout the ride and had thrown in his own thoughts and opinions.
About 10 minutes later, Kameron parks near where they had planned to camp. He unbuckled his seat belt and had shut the car door behind him, waiting for his partner to get out of the car. Maxwell had gotten out of the car and walked over to Kameron, opening his mouth and began speaking.
”Kam! Are you excited? I sure am, I love camping. I mean, I haven’t gone camping since I was about.. 12, but it’ll be fun! I’m sure of it! Okay— so, you packed everything right? The water, the blankets, the tents, and other stuff right? Because if you didn’t that would kinda suck, we would have to go back to the house again..”
“Well, for one, yes. I am excited to go camping with you, Max. Also, I did pack everything, it’s in the trunk however— I’ll need to get it.”
They had talked for another minute before Maxwell ended up waiting for Kameron to get the stuff, there was a lot of course, so Maxwell did help with it. They walked into the forest, not too far from their car… Eventually finding where they have planned to camp. Max’s eyes lit up, he was really excited. Kameron had never really been camping before, well, probably once or twice when he was younger, but not the whole expierence… like, making s’mores, bonfires, whatever people did when camping.
“Dude.. this is so cool! I haven’t been camping in forever! I told you that— Well it’s still cool! I can’t wait to do all this fun stuff.. especially with you! My boyfriend! The person I love the most! I’ll set up our tents— you can help start a fire! Ooh! You know what we should do? Go fishing! I love fishing personally, but sometimes it’s so boring! But eh, not really sure anymore!”
Kameron listened to his partner ramble, he thought it was nice, that Maxwel felt comfortable enough with him to rant like this, and Kameron liked listening to Maxwell.. thinking about what he should say.
”Yeah, me.. and you are dating. I still can’t believe it, haha. But, I’ll go find uh.. firewood, I guess. And we can go fishing, I think that sounds fun.”
”Cool!” Maxwell put out a thumbs up. He grabbed the tent bag and unzipped it, and started setting up the tent. Kameron had started walking away, trying to find firewood, I mean, has he ever been camping? No. Does he know some of the basics on what to do? Yeah. He thought the forest was kind of peaceful, it was so nice and even though it was cloudy outside, it felt nice to him. He appreciated these moments. Even if he’s alone, they make him more relaxed. He eventually found some firewood and retreated back to the campsite. He saw Maxwell had set up the tent, and also brought out the two chairs they had gotten. Y’know, the chairs you use when you’re watching a firework show or something. He was sitting on one and was spacing out, thinking about probably a million things at once. Kameron had stood next to Maxwell and tapped his shoulder. Maxwell looked at him with a soft smile.
”Oh! Hey, hun! I didn’t even notice you were back— but anyways, I set it up! What do you think?”
”Well, I think it’s nice. It’s simple. What do you wanna do now?” Kameron had looked away from his partner, he wanted noticed past a few trees he saw a lake.. hm, that’s nice. He didn’t have an opinion on them. Well, he didn’t have an opinion on most things, like lakes.
“Like I Said.. we should go fishing! Or maybe even swim. I mean, I don’t know if you brought extra clothes so if not then we wont!”
”Well, I guess we can go fishing then.. we don’t need a boat or anything, right?”
”No… all we need are fishing rods! Which.. you brought, right?”
Kameron got stiff, he didn’t. He hadn’t even thought about it until now.. how stupid of him! He sighed and had to unfortunately break the news to his boyfriend
”…No, I forgot.”
“Ah, damn. Well! We can do something else, I guess. Oh! We can go hiking! That’s fun, right babe?”
Maxwell was disappointed when Kameron said that, but he just sighed and changed the topic, suggesting that they could hike! Maxwel liked hiking, it was fun to him. Kameron agreed! He thought a long hike would be nice, especially with the love of his life. So he nodded and asked if there was any mountains nearby.
”Uhhm.. probably! We’ll find out eventually, let’s go!” Maxwell was excited, he was tapping his foot repeatedly, stimming. Kameron put on a soft smile and followed Maxwell to.. wherever they were going.
They eventually found a mountain.. thing. It was more like a hill— but hey, it’s something. Max exclaimed and pointed at it. He was obviously happy that they found something. Kameron looked at the hill.. mountain.. I’m not sure. He holded Max’s hand and started walking up it. There were other people near them.. Kameron had glanced around and counted about 7 people near the mountain-hill. He looked forwards again, they had been walking around and exploring for about 30 minutes, they found some rocks, and also flowers! He knew his boyfriend liked them, so he pointed them out when they walked by the flowers. Once they made it to the top, Maxwell began speaking.
”holy shit it is really warm— but we did it, Kam! We made it to the top! I’m so proud of us.” He give a grin and hugged Kameron, he was actually really happy in that moment. Both of them! Kameron hugged Maxwell back slowly and closed his eyes. This was nice, he found it a bit awkward since there were people nearby, but he didn’t mind that much. After a minute passed, Kameron pulled back. Max was still smiling, Kameron began speaking.
”Why did you hug me? That sounds rude, apologies.”
”You’re fine, Kam! And— it honestly just felt so right, this.. this moment feels nice and amazing! I love us, y’know? You’re the best thing that’s happened to me.”
Kameron blushed slightly at the last part, he was seriously the best thing that happend to Maxwell? he didn’t know what to believe.
”Yeah.. I know what you mean. You’re super important to me. And I love you so much..”
Kameron was subconsciously smiling wide, it was true. He loved Maxwell so much, and knew Maxwell returned those feelings. There’s only two people he trusts in this world, and Maxwell is one of them.
”So.. what do you wanna do, hun? Do you wanna still explore.. go back to the campsite, or what?” Kameron spoke, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do so he asked for Max’s opinion.
”I wanna explore still! It’s been so much fun, even if it’s been about thirty minutes— I still think it’s cool!” Maxwell took Kameron’s arm and ran down the hill, Kameron also ran, wondering where they were going to go next…
The pair had explored a lot! A simple hike turned into an adventure. They found tons of things, some even that could be important for work and such. They had some trouble finding their way back to the campsite since they had been out for so long, but eventually they found their way back. Maxwell had drained all his energy and was kinda tired, Kameron was the same however, he was quiet. Kameron realized that he hadn’t even started the bonfire, so attempted to do just that. Maxwel sat in his chair and watched Kameron try and start a fire. Which he did! He successfully started a small fire, he threw firewood into the bonfire and watched it grow bigger, he sat down in the chair next to Maxwell, staring at the bonfire in front of them.
”So, are you tired at all?”
”Yeah.. man, screaming about random things in the wild was fun, but I have like— no energy now.”
”I see, well, I mean we could always just call it a night, it’s like… ten or so, right?”
”Yeah.. but that early? That’s soo.. lame.”
Kameron chuckled at what Max said, he found most of what Max said funny or cool, probably because he adores him so much though.. anything Maxwell says has him hooked.
“Yeah, but if we go to bed early, we can do other fun stuff in the morning.”
”I guess..” Maxwell yawned, he was tired.. if you couldn’t tell. “Maybe I will call it a night, who knows!” Maxwell giggled to himself. They had continued talking to eachother for around 10 minutes. That was until Kameron had slowly rose from his chair.
”I’m going to go inside the tent… I might fall asleep, you wanna come or do you wanna stay out here for a bit?” Kameron patiently waited for Maxwell to respond. “Sure! I’ll join you, let me just—“ Maxwell pulled out a blanket from his backpack and started beating the hell out of the campfire, it was very aggressive.
about 2 minutes later, it’s out.
Maxwell looked down at his lover, Maxwell was about 2 inches taller than Kameron.
