Yeosang glanced up from his food, his gaze on Hongjoong. "Rough day?"

Hongjoong sighed, his frustration apparent. "Yeah, you could say that."

Yeosang raised an eyebrow, his playful nature evident in his expression. "Did Seonghwa manage to get under your skin again?"

---- Or Hongjoong hates Seonghwa and Seonghwa hates Hongjoong.

Right?

Chapter 1: I`m With Him!?

Summary:

The sharp scent of vanilla and sweet orange invaded his senses. He stiffened, his instincts on high alert as he turned to face the source. Hongjoong stood there, his gaze locked onto Seonghwa's. His heart raced, and the desire that had been a subtle undercurrent surged to the surface.

Chapter Text

In the hallowed halls of the college, Kim Hongjoong was known for his scholarly prowess, his diligent study habits, and his unyielding determination to excel. He was the personification of the perfect class representative – the one who took meticulous notes, aced exams, and contributed thoughtfully to discussions. He was also an omega, a fact he was proud of, even though he sometimes found himself caught in the nuances of alpha-dominated dynamics.

His best friend, Song Mingi, was another omega who shared his academic prowess. But Mingi's love life was a stark contrast to his own – he was dating Jeong Yunho, a charismatic alpha jock who was part of the esteemed jock clique led by Park Seonghwa.

Seonghwa, the formidable leader of the jocks, had a cocky demeanor that grated on Hongjoong's nerves. Yet, there was a twist that Hongjoong dared not admit to himself – deep down, his omega had already decided that Seonghwa was their perfect mate. Even as Hongjoong despised Seonghwa's arrogance, his omega's instincts whispered a different narrative.

As the alpha jocks swaggered into the school, omegas and betas trailed in their wake. Seonghwa, tall and alluring, led the pack with an air of ownership that both repelled and enticed. Hongjoong bit his lip in frustration, stealing a glance at Seonghwa. The alpha's grin held a glint of mischief, revealing canines that seemed to taunt Hongjoong's composure.

The morning bell rang, releasing the students to their classes. Hongjoong and Mingi went their separate ways, each with their own thoughts. Hongjoong's first class was literature, and he took his usual seat by the window at the front of the room. He was ready to bury himself in the world of books, until the jocks walked in, Seonghwa's presence instantly noticeable.

Seonghwa's eyes scanned the room and locked onto Hongjoong. A silent challenge passed between them, the unspoken rivalry they shared evident to anyone paying attention. The class progressed, and as the teacher posed questions, Hongjoong and Seonghwa found themselves locked in a battle of wits, each striving to outdo the other.

Lunchtime arrived, and Hongjoong joined Mingi at their usual spot. Seonghwa and his jock friends took over another corner of the cafeteria, their presence magnetic combined with the cheerleaders, was loud and attention-grabbing. Hongjoong couldn't help but watch Seonghwa from a distance, his annoyance simmering beneath the surface. He scolded himself for even noticing the alpha's appearance – the tight t-shirt, the varsity jacket displaying his captaincy – a perfect picture of a jock.

In chemistry class, the teacher announced a partner presentation, a collective groan rippling through the class. The teacher, undeterred, began assigning partners. The names were called, and as they neared the end of the list, Hongjoong's anxiety grew. He prayed silently that he wouldn't be partnered with Seonghwa.

But fate had other plans. The teacher called Hongjoong's name, followed by Seonghwa's. A tension-filled silence fell over the room, and Hongjoong's heart sank. It was as if the universe was conspiring to throw them together and fuck with Hongjoong`s life, enjoying his suffering.

His legs moved almost on autopilot, forcing him to his feet. Before he knew it, the words tumbled out of his mouth, a desperate plea. "I – I'd like another partner, please."

The teacher's stern gaze met Hongjoong's, unmoved by his request. "Partners have already been decided, Mr. Kim. You will work with Mr. Park."

The humiliation was evident on Hongjoong's face as he looked over at Seonghwa. The alpha's gaze on him was steady, dark and calculating, causing Hongjoong to shiver involuntarily. His omega, however, preened in a way that sent a shiver down his spine.

He quickly sank back into his seat, eyes cast downward as the weight of the situation settled over him. Seonghwa's gaze lingered for a moment longer before he turned away, a triumphant smirk playing at his lips.

The rest of the class was a blur to Hongjoong, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. As the bell rang, he gathered his belongings and hurried out of the room, the sensation of Seonghwa's gaze still haunting him. He pushed his way through the crowded hallways, trying to put distance between himself and the alpha he both loathed and couldn't quite ignore.

As Hongjoong returned to his dorm, the weight of the day's events settled heavily upon him. He entered the room to find his roommate Yeosang already engrossed in a takeout meal on the dining table. Hongjoong joined him, his mood evident even without words.

Hongjoong's lips twisted into a scowl. "He's just so infuriating. And it doesn't help that we're stuck as partners for that stupid project."

Yeosang chuckled, taking a bite of his food. "Ah, the universe has a funny way of throwing people together."

Hongjoong shot him a glare. "Don't act like you find this amusing."

Yeosang's laughter filled the room. "Okay, okay, I won't tease you. But come on, hyung. It's not the end of the world. Just work together and get it over with."

Hongjoong sighed, picking at his food. "I know, I know. It's just... ugh."

Yeosang's gaze softened as he looked at his friend. "You know, Seonghwa isn't all bad. He's got his moments."

Hongjoong rolled his eyes. "Don't defend him, Yeosang. You`re just saying that cause he`s friends with Jongho"

Yeosang refuted but his words fell on deaf ears.

As they finished their meal in relative silence, Hongjoong's thoughts were a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He couldn't shake the image of Seonghwa's challenging gaze.

Later that evening, as Hongjoong sat at his desk working on an English assignment, he decided to take a break and scroll through Instagram. His finger tapped on the school's official account, revealing a new picture of the jock team. There they were, all of them – San, Jongho, Yunho, and Seonghwa.

His eyes were drawn to Seonghwa's position in the middle of the group, his smirk and sweaty face only adding to his confident demeanor. Hongjoong's curiosity got the best of him as he zoomed in on the alpha, his mind reluctantly acknowledging Seonghwa's undeniable attractiveness.

A feeling of annoyance washed over him as he read the countless comments filled with admiration for the jock team. "Why do people feed their egos like that?" he muttered to himself, scrolling down to find San's comment – "The pack is always together."

Intrigued, Hongjoong clicked on San's account and was met with a flurry of images. He saw selfies, group photos, and images with San's omega boyfriend, Wooyoung. There was a sense of unity and camaraderie in their pictures that Hongjoong couldn't help but envy.

One particular image caught his attention – a party snapshot where Seonghwa was visible, his shirt partially unbuttoned, revealing his toned stomach. Hongjoong's eyes lingered on the image, a mixture of frustration and something he couldn't quite define settling in his chest.

He gulped, torn between the image and his conflicted feelings about Seonghwa. He quickly put his phone down and looked away, trying to shake off the thoughts that had started to infiltrate his mind. But his mind was persistent, reminding him of moments that shouldn't matter.

His thoughts took him back to the interaction with Seonghwa earlier that day. The way Seonghwa had gazed at him, the intensity he had held, the way his shirt hugged his form – it all sent a shiver down Hongjoong's spine. He growled, frustrated with himself for even entertaining such thoughts.

With a determined huff, he picked up his phone once again, reopening Instagram. He clicked on Seonghwa's profile and scrolled through his posts. Among the group pictures with his jock friends, there were surprisingly normal ones. Pictures where Seonghwa looked at the camera with a soft smile, eyes filled with something Hongjoong couldn't quite decipher.

Hongjoong's gaze lingered on those pictures, his internal struggle becoming more apparent. He wanted to dismiss any notion that Seonghwa could be anything more than the arrogant jock he presented himself as. Yet, the glimpses of a different side left him conflicted.

He closed the app abruptly, setting his phone aside and returning to his schoolwork with renewed determination. As he delved into his assignment, he pushed aside the fleeting thoughts and emotions that had begun to creep in. He was focused, determined, and resolved to keep his distance from Seonghwa, no matter how persistent his omega might be.

The next morning, Hongjoong woke up to the blaring sound of his alarm. He groaned, his eyes fluttering open as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. His body ached from sleeping hunched over at his desk. "It's too early for this," he muttered to himself, stretching and cracking his back before finally sitting up.

As he got ready for the day, he dressed in a pair of pants and a v-neck sweater that he tucked into his pants with a neat precision. He reached for his scent blockers and took his heat suppressants, a daily routine that he didn't particularly enjoy but was a necessary precaution. With an apple in hand, he left the dorm, the crisp autumn air making his cheeks flush as he walked to the university.

The ten-minute walk from the dorms to the campus was a routine that Hongjoong had grown accustomed to. The warmth of the university's interior embraced him as he stepped inside. He made his way to his locker, retrieving his books for the day. Just as he was settling into the morning routine, he sensed a presence behind him, the air around him seemingly growing warmer.

He turned around to find Seonghwa leaning against the lockers, a hand casually propped beside Hongjoong's head. The sight of Seonghwa in his varsity jacket, the smirk on his lips, caused a flutter in Hongjoong's chest. He suppressed the instinct to lean in closer, to seek out the alpha's proximity.

"What do you want?" Hongjoong asked with a sharp edge, not letting Seonghwa's presence fluster him.

Seonghwa leaned in even closer, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Just wanted to discuss the presentation, Joongie," he purred, his voice low and enticing. "Didn't have a chance to get your number yesterday, did I? You ran off so quickly."

Hongjoong raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by Seonghwa's teasing tone. "I had another class to attend. Not my fault you can't catch up."

Closing his locker and pushing Seonghwa away with his elbow, Hongjoong couldn't help but feel a thrill at the close proximity. The touch of Seonghwa's body against his sent a jolt of heat through him, both unsettling and exhilarating.

"Training match at the end of the day," Seonghwa continued, leaning away as he spoke. "Meet me afterward at the campus cafe. We can start on the presentation."

Before Hongjoong could respond, Seonghwa turned to walk away, his departing words hanging in the air. "By the way, the sweater looks cute on you."

Hongjoong was left gaping as he watched Seonghwa walk away, the number one symbol on the varsity jacket taunting him. With a frustrated frown, he pulled the collar of his sweater up to cover more of his neck. It wasn't his fault that the collar had been stretched out by Mingi's carelessness.

"Ugh, damn it," he grumbled under his breath, ignoring the omega within him that seemed to be all too pleased by Seonghwa's compliment.

His thoughts still swirling from the encounter, Hongjoong gathered his composure and made his way to his first class of the day. The image of Seonghwa's confident smirk and the way he leaned in remained imprinted in his mind, creating a distraction he couldn't shake.

Later that day, Hongjoong found himself leaving his last class earlier than expected. With a disgruntled expression, he finished his coffee and discarded the cup into a nearby trash bin. He glanced at his phone and confirmed that Seonghwa's training match was still ongoing. Not wanting to appear overly eager by waiting for a full hour at the campus cafe, he decided to take a stroll towards the school's football court instead.

The autumn breeze nipped at his skin as he walked, and he tightened his jacket around himself. As he neared the football court, he saw a group of enthusiastic omegas and betas, cheering and shouting encouraging words. The players on the field ran around, chasing after the ball. Hongjoong, never much interested in team sports, found the spectacle rather mundane. He settled onto the bleachers, giving the fan group a wide berth.

He scanned the field for Seonghwa, who he spotted almost immediately. The alpha was a force to be reckoned with, darting across the field and skillfully outmaneuvering the opposing alphas. A glance at the scoreboard revealed that a victory hinged on Seonghwa's performance. As if on cue, Seonghwa managed to score, his celebratory expression infectious as his teammates lifted him onto their shoulders, chanting his name.

Yet, as Hongjoong's gaze met Seonghwa's triumphant one, he was struck by a jolt of unexpected connection. Seonghwa's thumb went up in acknowledgment, leaving Hongjoong stunned and speechless.

After the match, Hongjoong waited outside the locker room, hoping to catch Seonghwa as he emerged. He was met by Yunho, who appeared surprised by his presence.

"Yunho-ssi, do you know when Seonghwa comes out?" Hongjoong inquired.

Yunho's eyebrows raised, and he hesitated before answering, "He just finished showering, so it might take a while."

As Yunho walked away, Hongjoong felt a mix of impatience and nervousness. Eventually, he dedcided to enter the locker room, he swung the door open, and the rich and musky scent of citrus and cinnamon hit him like a truck, the air thick with it, making Hongjoong's heart race and his omega stir with desire. Slick pooled between his legs, and he struggled to control himself. But the sight that met him caused his breath to hitch – Seonghwa stood before him, his dark gaze fixed intently on Hongjoong. The alpha's nose twitched, confirming that he had picked up on Hongjoong's arousal and the scent of his slick.

"Hongjoong?" Seonghwa growled, his voice thick with restraint as he fought to contain his urges. His body trembled, his alpha instincts urging him to take what he wanted.

"Leave. Now," Seonghwa commanded through gritted teeth, his jaw clenched as he battled his own desires.

Feeling the intensity of Seonghwa's gaze and scent, Hongjoong's omega surged forward, yearning for the alpha's touch. Before he could give in, he turned and fled from the locker room, leaving behind a frustrated and conflicted Seonghwa.

As he ran, thoughts raced through Hongjoong's mind. His own reactions had shocked him – the omega in him seemed drawn to Seonghwa's aura, despite his reservations. But the notion of Seonghwa as his alpha was confusing and alarming. Where had that thought come from? He continued to sprint all the way back to his dorm, the distance allowing him to clear his mind – or so he hoped.

Entering his dorm room, he didn't bother with pleasantries, collapsing onto his bed. He was alone, isolated in his room, with the encounter still burning vividly in his mind. The scent of Seonghwa lingered, etching itself into Hongjoong's senses. He had never imagined the alpha could be so alluring, not with the scent blockers they wore.

Frustration and confusion coursed through him, and he clutched the bedsheets, letting out a low whine of inner turmoil. The emptiness in his room echoed his internal conflict, leaving him alone with thoughts and emotions he wasn't ready to confront.

Seonghwa`s POV:

During the match, Seonghwa's focus was primarily on the game at hand. The sound of his own heartbeat drumming loudly, deafening everything around him. He moved with grace and determination, his athletic prowess on full display as he weaved his way around opposing players. The sweat that gathered on his forehead and body was a testament to his exertion, and he pushed through the game with a fierce determination.

Yet, amidst the intensity of the match, his thoughts drifted to Hongjoong. It started innocently enough – noticing how the omega's anger only made him look cuter, his fiery expression oddly endearing. But with each passing thought, Seonghwa's perception shifted from casual observations to something much deeper. He found himself captivated by Hongjoong's determination and individuality.

As he received the ball from Jongho, Seonghwa's mind raced with conflicting thoughts. He was acutely aware of his alpha instincts, the primal desires that whispered seductively as he ran down the field. The sweat that trickled down his body and mixed with his natural scent that was appearing as the sweat was clogging the scent blockers did little to mask his allure – something that intensified the magnetic pull he felt toward Hongjoong.

When he scored the winning goal, his gaze instinctively sought out Hongjoong in the crowd. The sight of the omega in the oversized jacket, the expression of genuine happiness on his face, brought a smile to Seonghwa's lips. It was a rare moment of vulnerability that Hongjoong seemed to be unaware of, and Seonghwa found it utterly captivating.

The locker room was a blur of celebrations and camaraderie as his teammates cheered their victory. Seonghwa joined in the festivities, the exhilaration of the game still coursing through his veins. When it came time to shower, he took his time under the water, the steam and warmth soothing his muscles. Alone in the stall, he couldn't shake the lingering thoughts of Hongjoong.

As he stepped out and began dressing, the sharp scent of vanilla and sweet orange invaded his senses. He stiffened, his instincts on high alert as he turned to face the source. Hongjoong stood there, his gaze locked onto Seonghwa's. His heart raced, and the desire that had been a subtle undercurrent surged to the surface.

"Hongjoong?" Seonghwa growled, the word coming out as a mixture of both surprise and hunger. His body trembled with the effort to restrain himself, to keep from pulling the omega into his arms and claiming him as his own.

"Leave. Now," he managed to force out, his voice thick with a mixture of restraint and frustration. He watched as Hongjoong fled, his steps echoing down and the heavy thump of the locker room door closing. His control wavered, and it was a struggle not to chase after the omega, to let his instincts take over.

Once Hongjoong was out of sight, Seonghwa breathed heavily, his fists clenched as he fought the urge to follow. He left the locker room, feeling a mixture of longing and confusion swirling within him. His body was wired, his senses heightened by the residual scent of Hongjoong's slick.

Upon returning to his dorm, he shut the door of the dorm behind him and leaned against it, his mind racing. San, Jongho, and Yunho were busy in the common area, but Seonghwa declined their invitation to join them. He walked to his room, locked the door behind him, and sat down on his bed.

The scent of Hongjoong's slick still clung to him, making his thoughts foggy and his instincts restless. He licked his lips, a low growl escaping him as he realized he was hard – all from the simple scent of the omega. Seonghwa grumbled under his breath, frustration and desire mingling as he pushed his pants down, giving in to the overwhelming arousal that Hongjoong's presence had ignited within him.

Seongwha hissed as the cold air touched his naked member, he grabbed his dick and pumped it, feeling the precum already running making the slide easier.

The alpha groaned in pleasure as his movements turned quicker, his thoughts plagued with images of Hongjoong.

Hongjoong`s smell. Hongjoong`s body. Hongjoong`s face.

Hongjoong underneath him, eyes teary as he took all of Seonghwa.

Eyes opening wide he growled out with howl as he came all over his hand, cum coating his chest and hand.

Seonghwa, looked at the mess and silently stood up and cleaned himself up in the bathroom, changing his shirt and sitting on the bed again to at least start on the chemistry project.
