Chapter Text
You were a teacher at Babyls, though you were new. It had only been a year since you started. For the new teachers, one was to seek guidance from a senior coworker. In this case, is was a strict man name Naberius Kaelgo. He was a man with a bitter and angry demeanor, however you were not bothered by his attitude. You understood that he was truly a passionate teacher and maintained his school with care. Kaelgo did not mind you either, though he would never admit that. Compared to Robin, who began teaching the same year as you, you were heavenly as you kept to yourself and did your work effectively.
Though you got along with Kaelgo, you had gravitated to a different senior teacher, Balam Shichiro. Many demons are scared of Balam. Not only was he a massive demon, but his awkwardness many times got misinterpreted to make him seem more terrifying than he actually was. Not to mention, his skinship. Being suddenly grabbed by giant hands would startle anyone. When you first met Balam, you were suddenly grabbed from behind and lifted up in the air. He had held you like a bride, rubbing his face to yours.
In any other case, you would have flipped. The demon who even dared to pick you up would had been screaming in pain. However, something was disarming about this demon. You didn’t mind at all to this stranger petting you, sitting in his arm, not resisting the affection. You found it very strange that you felt so calm, but you decided not to care.
Kaelgo had lightly scolded Balam for being so invasive with you. The raven haired man explained Balam’s skinship quirk, before introducing the two of you.
Balam had bashfully apologized for his actions as well as greeted you properly. As Balam put you down, you smiled back at him.
You and Balam had clicked instantly from that point on. You couldn’t quite explain why the two of you had gotten along so well together, you just did. Maybe it was because he was such a dork and you could listen to him excitedly theorize about imaginary creatures. Or maybe it was the fact that he was such a kind demon, something rare in the netherworld. Either way, you liked him.
However, it was only a matter of time before you developed a crush on the man. I mean, who wouldn’t? He was so sweet and handsome and the fact he was always seeking your touch didn’t help at all. For the sake of your career, you shoved down those silly romantic feelings and replaced it with simple admiration for your senior. You didn’t want to confront those feelings.
It became common to always see you two together, the only exception being when you and Balam had to teach. It was even more customary to see Balam somehow always touching you. From putting his hand on top of your head to actually having you sit on his shoulders, he was somehow touching you. And you didn’t mind at all.
It was known throughout the school to teachers and students alike that you and Balam were close. Of course, rumors bloomed that you and him were a couple. That was something you hated being teased about. And it seemed like everyone was in on it. The staff, teachers, the students, and shit even Kaelgo teased you a handful of time. The sadistic fuck was the worst at it with that knowing smirk.
And it was only a matter of time, however, that these rumors would fall into the hands of the worst possible demons…The Misfit Class.
It was after school one day and you started making your route to Balam’s classroom. You usually went there to hangout with Balam and sometimes Kaelgo as it was void of students. You would even take a nap in Balam’s surprisingly comfortable nest.
“Y/n-Chan! Y/n-Chan!” You heard a voice cheer from behind. You turned around only to be tackled by Valac, smiling from ear to ear as she climbed on your body.
You took second to stabilize yourself, grabbing Valac’s arms that hung around your neck.
“Hello, Ms. Valac, and please call me L/n-Sensei,” you scolded, though you knew it was ineffective. She always called you by your first name no matter how much you corrected her.
You noticed the other two girls from the misfit class, Crocell and Elizabetta, smiling at you as well.
“Hi girls, what are you up too?” you asked
“We were actually looking for you, Sensei,” Elizabetta softly spoke with that sweet smile of hers.
“You were?” It wasn’t too out of the ordinary for students to seek you out. You were always happy to help them in anyway they needed, so you were a popular teacher.
All three nodded vigorously.
“We need help on a project that Raim-Senei assigned”
Raim-Sensei, she was the teacher on the art of subduction.
“If you’re looking for advice on Subduction, I’m not the demon to ask,” you answered honestly. You weren’t at all skilled in charm and persuasion. You were rather withdrawn in nature, so your power only showed through when it involved fights and physical activity.
“Oh no, it’s nothing that you have to do. We have to practice our makeup skills,” Elizabetta answered.
“Yeah! yeah! Y/n-Chan!” Valac agreed
“Why can’t you do it each other?” You asked.
“Well you see,” Crocell chimed in, “We already got used to doing each other, we need a new canvas. Besides, you are the prefect subject”
“Indeed!” Elizabetta continued, “You’re just so pretty it’ll be so fun dolling you up!”
The flattery was working on you as a blush crept on your face.
“No need to coax me girls. As long only y’all see me, I don’t mind.”
The three cheered in excitement.
“Let me just let Balam know I’m going with-“
“Don’t worry about that!” Valac shouted, “Izu-chi was already going Balam-Sensei to ask for help on the next exam. We told him to let Balam-Sensei know you’ll be helping us!”
“Oh,” you in slight disappointment, “okay then”
The three girls lead you to Royal One into a room with a vanity. You’ve only been in the magical classroom a couple of time, but each time it still amazed you. You wish you taught in this class room.
The girls sat you down at the vanity. They each took turns doing your makeup. When Valac did your makeup, she would make it look ridiculous to which the other two would have to fix. However, it was Crocell that did most of it. She seemed to know what she was doing.
Although they were your students, it was fun chatting with them as if they were your good friends. As far as you knew, Balam was your only friend, so having girls doing your makeup was quite refreshing.
“And done!” Crocell proudly announced!
You excitedly looked in the mirror. They had done a fantastic job. Your skin looked so smooth and clear, cheeks slightly flushed. You lips was a subtle red. They painted your eyes sharp and dark with eye lashes full, giving off a beautifully viscous vibe (that was something they had fought over To make your makeup sexy or cute. They ended up choosing the latter). You actually really felt good in this style of makeup.
“Wow girls! If I was your teacher for this, I would girl you a perfect score! This is better than I could ever do!” You praised.
You looked over to the left, expecting them to be smiling at your compliment. However, the smiles they displayed was something that made you finally a little suspicious.
“Um? Girls?”
Valac suddenly pulled out something white from her pocket. She held it up, showing it to be a full length white sun dress white a heart shaped neck line and long flowing sleeves. It was a far cry from your usual black teacher uniform.
“I’m not putting that on” you deadpanned, but that didn’t stop them.
It was Elizabetta’s bloodline that ultimately was your downfall. Nobody could resist her scent. Your guard was down with your students and they took that to their advantage.
There you stood. In the dress. Absolutely pissed.
“Please give it back girl,” you spoke through gritted teeth.
The three stood proudly, your teacher uniform tucked nicely in elizabetta’s arms.
“Please trust us, you look fantastic,” one of them said. You didn’t know which one, you were too annoyed to care.
A flash of purple in the doorway caught your eye. It was Kaelgo walking pass. Embarrassment rushed over you as he stared at you with an emotionless face.
Panic painted the girls face. Although, it was a mortifying situation, Kaelgo would certainly help you in punish them for making a teacher to do such a thing.
“Tell them to give my uniform back!” You cried out to the older man.
Okay, you assured yourself, the fun would be over.
However, Imagine your absolute shock when he continued walking, ignoring the situation.
Now you were fuming.
That BASTARD! You know he loved giving you a hard time but this was a whole new level!
The shit eating grins on their damn faces when they knew their sensei was on their side made you red in the face.
You lunged forward, grabbing at Elizabetta. But those little shits already had a plan it seemed like because Crocell was already mounted on one of her wolves. Elizabetta threw the uniform at Crocell.
Any other demon would recognize that chasing an ice wolf would be fruitless, however you were different. Even in the goddamn dress and no shoes you kept up with Crocell’s familiar. You were a demon who excelled in physical strength in comparison to things like magic or intelligence.
You could only thank the demon king himself that all the students and teachers had returned home for the evening. You might had to quit your job if anyone saw this.
You were closing in on Crocell at rapid speeds, your hands just barely grazing the wolf. In reality, you could have stopped her by now. But you were a very kind demon and you wished not to hurt any of your students, even if it was just a small scrap. Plus, if a student got injured off school hours by a teacher, that was a lot of paper work.
You kicked the wolf’s leg, sending both it and its rider tumbling to the ground.
Before you could advance onto your victim, your vision went to black. You couldn’t fucking see. You knew it was another Misfit, Lied, with his controller bloodline.
“What’s this scheme of yours!?” You shouted in frustration, but got no response.
A little brush of fabric was all you needed to hear to know your uniform was being passed off to another student. With speed that could hurt your neck, you snapped your head to the sound. A faint gulp was the only reassurance you needed before bolting forwards.
The student’s footstep were only a soft click on the floor. Whoever it was, they were light on their feet. That’s why they were most likely chosen for this leg of this ridiculous chase. It was probably Gaap as his wind magic influenced his movements. Considering that you could no longer see, the barely audible footsteps would be perfect. It would disorient the chaser more as now they couldn’t rely on two of their scenes while running. You couldn’t help but slightly acknowledge the detail they put into this plan.
Hold on…Plan?
You slowed down until you came into a complete stop. They had a plan? They were planning something. Something that involved you and you going to a certain destination dressed like this. This wasn’t just a random prank anymore…something was going on.
You weren’t going to be a part of this.
There was a reason why they wanted you to chase them. So, you would simply not do that.
They could have your uniform, you had many. You weren’t about to be embarrassed by the whole misfit class. You had a spare uniform at your brother’s apartment that you could quickly snag cause devi knows you’re not about to walk into the teacher’s dorm looking like this.
You began walking in the opposite direction. After a while, Shax released his bloodline once they realized you were no longer taking the bait.
A sense of cockiness ran through your head, thinking about how you crushed whatever the Misfit scheme was. Though, that wasn’t enough to satisfy your frustration. You snickered to yourself thinking about all the ways you could punish them the next time they had your class. Oh the possibilities were endless.
It began to be dark now, the low light serving useful in your escape of Babyls without begin seen.
You were actually starting to enjoy yourself, which dismayed you a little. The feeling of the cold cobblestone against your bare feet (you had broken free from Elizabetta’s spell before they could strap you in heels) and the cool breeze flowing your dress made you feel like one of those princesses from a fairytale. All you needed was a Prince Charming to sweep you off your feet…
“Y/n-Chan??”
You stopped cold in your tracks.
Oh shit
You recognized that voice.
Turning stiff, you turned to that voice with a forced smile.
“Hello, Furfur-kun”
Since hearing that he had been brought into Babyls as a tutor, you did everything in your power to avoid him. And a good job you’ve been doing, but of course the irony of the two of you meeting outside of Babyls was just too good not to happen.
A big smile shined bright on his face. Walking over to you, he swung his arm over your shoulders, giving you a sideways hug.
Getting close to you face with his own, he cheekily smile at you. “Now, now, what are you all dressed up? A date? You better not be cheating on me,” he teased.
“Yeah, right,” you retorted back, shoving his face away.
“Oh c’mon Y/n-Chan! Is that how treat an old friend?” He whined, continuing his advances to hug you despite your resistance.
“Only if it’s you,”
He fiend hurt with a sad scoff, “So mean! How can you treat your high school sweetheart like this! Avoiding me this whole time!”
Furfur was in the same class as you in high school in the equivalence to Babyls’ misfit class. You were shamefully a delinquent in your time and Furfur was your number one accomplice. You got into a lot of fights and he would talk and scam you out of trouble. You never asked for his help, but he was somehow always involved. He later started his advances in romance in you, which you had never ever entertained. He wasn’t your type.
“Because you’re annoying!” You finally broke free of his grip. You’d think he be bored of you, but nope! Because of high school, he still thinks you owe him something.
A devilish smile made its way to his face. His large hand gently grabbed you hand, lifting it up to his lips. His lips soft placed a delicate peck on your knuckles. He smiled back at you with those haunting eyes.
“Since you’re already dressed to the part, How about I cash in one of my favors and take you on a date”
You were swept of your feet
…like literally.
you were suddenly flying through the air, looking down at a confused Furfur.
Sharp talons dug into your shoulders. You nervously looked up.
“Balam Senpai!?”
