Chapter Text
Soaring was very honest with herself. She hated the majority of official royal government business. She tolerated it because of Raha and his position, but she would rather be free of it all. So, it was true to say that she was extremely unhappy when it was decreed that Raha, her, and their entourage were to be envoys to Eulmore…in order to better facilitate the relationship between their two countries.
So here she was, nested comfortably against her Raha, with their entourage, on their way to Eulmore. “I hate that place, Raha. It’s just weird.”
“None of us happy about this trip, but we do have try,” he responded.
“I doubt this will work. The people there are just weird. And everything felt off,” she looked to Alphinaud, “Right, Alphy? I mean, Chai-Nuzz, Dulia-Chai, and a few others were the exception, but everyone else thought they were better than us. And all poor people at the bottom, it was like they didn’t exist to upper class.”
“My sentiment exactly, Soaring,” Alphinaud replied, “But we do anything at the time, else we risk a war between the Eulmore and the Crystarium. Hopefully, this time, since we’re not undercover, they would be receptacle.”
“Doubt it since it seems like these people are set in their ways, from what you both reported,” responded Alisaie.
“I’m not excited about this assignment either,” Thancred chimed in.
“At least you don’t have to be there with Vaultry,” Soaring shuddered, “He’s just…urgh! I felt he wanted to eat us or something. Or worse, put us under his mind control!”
“There might be truth to those rumors,” Raha thought allowed, hand cupping his chin. “Than, you think you could try to find proof of that, while rescuing the girl?”
Thancred faked outrage at Raha, “You wound me, my Prince. Am I not your best rogue or not?”
Raha chuckled at his friend’s antics, “Never on that! It’s your flirting techniques, I’m worried about.”
Everyone but Thancred bursted out laughing.
“Gee, not everyone can find their mates at 5 years old,” Thancred deadpanned.
“You’ll find someone, Than,” Soaring patted his knee. “Now, I guess we should go over the plan.”
