Kaveh finally worked up the courage to haul ass and visit his mother in Fontaine. Obviously, he took Alhaitham with him. (Alhaitham was happy for time off work). They had planned to stay for one full week. The first half would be spent with Kaveh's family while the second half would be spent sight-seeing and exploring the nation.
Upon arriving ar Faranak's beautiful Fontainian home - which Kaveh spent the better part of 10 minutes admiring the architectural ability of, the two visitors where surprised when a youung man carrying a child answered the door. The man was quickly identified as Kaveh's younger step-brother, Antoine. He's from his step-father's previous marriage. After a few polite 'hello's and introductions, Faranak came running out of the kitchen and pulled Kaveh into the tightest hug he's felt in years.
"Oh, Kaveh! My beloved son! It's been so long - too long!"
"Yes, yes Maman... I-I missed you too"
The little girl turned to Kaveh's mother. Her ruby red eyes were wide and curious. "Mama? Who this..?" she asked cautiously.
"Oh! Camille, this is Kaveh - your big brother. Kaveh, this is Camille. She's your younger half-sister!"
"Half-sister?! Maman... Why didn't you tell me? We would have visited sooner!" Faranak chuckled, Kaveh sat in shock.
Alhaitham and Camille sat in the corner of the room beside a bookcase. The little girl was pulling out different picture books and enthusiastically showing them off to her apparent new best friend. Alhaitham seemed happy enough to entertain her.
"When Pierre and I married, we went to the Fontaine of Lucine. Many newlyweds visit to make a wish for children to celebrate their new life together. We weren't expecting much due to our older age, but barely a year had passed and we got to hold out little angel!" Faranak recounted fondly.
Kaveh glanced over to his boyfriend sitting on the floor reading to the little angel, as his mother gracefully called her. Alhaitham seemed to be enjoying himself. Kaveh even swears he saw a smile on his Junior's face, although he would never admit it. A quiet thought appeared in Kaveh's mind but he tried to brush it off and push it down the best he can. Throughout their whole trip, Camille was adamant that all her time must be spent with Alhaitham. Her favourite activity would be reading her fairytales outloud to him. On the last day of staying with Kaveh's family, the poor girl broke down in tears and held onto her BFF until Antoine pulled her off
Finally, it was the last day of their trip. They had two hours until they had to be back in the desert to catch their ride home and the two were discussing what their last stop should be.
"um... Should we go to the Fontain of Lucine..? W-we haven't really been there yet and we've heard a lot about it!" Kaveh rubs the back of his neck.
"I don't see why not? We did pass it when visiting the Opera Epiclese but we never got to stop and look at it"
So off they went! The aquabus trip was short and sweet (Kaveh says he will never tire of the scenery and 'we need one of these back in Sumeru!'). Although the blond started to feel anxious the closer they got to the fountain. They were surrounded by many different people wishing for very different things: Some for love, some for money, some for work. Kaveh felt his shaky hand still as Alhaitham took it in his own steady hand. He leaned in to whisper to his dearest light.
"Well? What do you want to wish for?"
Kaveh smiled, his heart going a million miles per hour. He could wish for more work, nicer clients, maybe a bit of extra mora for himself... But in his heart of hearts he knew what he wanted. He turned to his junior, squeezing his hand.
"I think you already know..." They made a quiet wish to the Fountain, sealed with a tender kiss.

Maybe it was coincidence, maybe it was truly divine intervention from the fountain. Either way, Alhaitham and Kaveh found themselves practically sprinting to the Akademiya. They stood outside the door to one of the Amurta Darshan's labs. Kaveh could feel himself quaking with nerves, yet feeling himself calm the moment Alhaitham took his hand.
"Are you ready..?" He asked cautiously.
"Too late now.." Kaveh chuckled.
They pushed the door open to the lab. Inside was a lot of strange liquids, computers, bag-like blobs resting inside tanks of fluid and other things that Kaveh didn't really understand. He didn't need to. All he knew is that this is the place where his child was developed. Brought to life by scholars, and a bit of help from Alhaitham bending over backwards to approve their funding and research. Just like what Faranak said happened to her, Kaveh stood sobbing as a tiny baby girl was handed to him, blissfully asleep and comfortable in her new mother's arms.
