Chapter Text

Sigma opened his eyes.

Immediately after doing so- he realized something was wrong. First and foremost- the room he was in was completely dark. Usually he would sleep with a nightlight (Not because he was afraid of the dark). Secondly, the room was cold. So cold in fact- that he would’ve assumed he was in a freezer! He further froze once he realized he couldn’t move his hands. They were numb, and bound together by rope. So were his ankles..

Sigmas stomach dropped further as he came to a newer realization about his dreadful situation. This was no accident- no ordinary mishap, no sleepwalking incident; somebody had taken him here *on purpose*. Someone had taken him while he was sleeping and brought him.. here? He had been kidnapped!

Of course, this was nothing new to him. He had been kidnapped before- in the desert, shortly after he was brought into existence. But that only added to the layers of anxiety he was experiencing. ‘Do not distress.’ Sigma repeated to himself. ‘Think it over with a clear mind.’ Those were the affirmations he always found himself repeating, day after day. Those very affirmations were almost sufficient enough, this time, to soothe him- to lull him into a false sense of security, at least for the time being. It almost worked.

Sigma’s calm state was interrupted as a door flew open and a trickle of light poured into the room. The casino man winced and quickly came to the conclusion that *this* had to be his kidnapper, judging by their organized and comfortable pace through the dim room. Due to his inability to move- he was completely at the mercy of this person. Whoever they were-

“Sigma! You awake yet?”*..He could definitely recognize that voice anywhere. Of course, judging by the theatrical tone and familiar voice; It was Nikolai.* But why would *he* feel the need to kidnap him? He just didn’t-

In the midst of his thoughts, he failed to notice the jester was now right in-front of him, staring at him intently. “Wha!” Sigma yelped, flinching backward. The man could just make out a deranged expression (typical.) and what appeared to be a lit candle in Nikolai’s gloved hand.

“What.. Why am I.. What are you…” Nikolai put a finger to his lips in a ‘Hush’ gesture, staring Sigma down with a wide smile. A vibrant mix of anger and confusion grew within Sigma as he met his captor’s eye.

“What is this, Nikolai? Why the hell am I here?!” The taller only giggled in response, twirling in an animated manor. “Why are you here…. Hmmm... You know what I think this calls for? A quiz! Why is Sigma here?”

“-Option A.. We’re selling you! Option B… For fun. Option C..To kill you.

Sigma listened intently. He looked down at the ground, thinking. It definitely had to be either A or C. B was too unreasonable, and knowing Nikolai, if it was for fun then he would’ve said it befo- wait.. what the hell?

“Hey! This is not the time for a quiz!” The casino manager exclaimed, hot with boiling anger. “Answer me, why did you bring me here-!”

*Whack!*

Sigma was met with a swift slap to the face. He heard a chuckle erupt from his captor, yet didn’t look his way out of bitterness. Nikolai grabbed the latter’s chin and forcefully turned his face toward him. The jester smiled.

“Now now, *Sigma~*. For the record, it was B.” Sigma glared at him, his cheek red and stinging. “I was really bored, and I needed someone to do!”

“Pardon me?” *Sigmas eyes narrowed further.

“I said, I needed something to do.” Nikolai repeated, tapping on his ear with a shit-eating grin. Sigma rolled his eyes. “That is an incomplete answer. Of all things you could have done to fix your boredom, you chose to kidnap me? What is it you mean to use me for?”

“Ohh, I don’t know…things.” The manager frowned. Of course there was an ulterior motive. There always was. Whatever it was, Sigma was getting to the bottom of it.

"I assume you aren’t planning on elaborating- Haah?!" Sigma yelped as he felt a hot and sticky liquid land on his upper thigh. It burned for a few seconds before it solidified. He looked up. Nikolai stood a bit closer, tilting the candle slightly downward.

"What is your problem?? What is your plan, and- gh! Stop doing that!" Sigma stammered, a scowl on his face. Nikolai giggled with pure, unadulterated glee. “But your reactions are oh-so entertaining!”

“…I said, quit it.” Sigmas cheeks felt hotter than the wax. He let his head loll downward and his long split-dyed hair shrouded his face. The clown stared at Sigma in silence for a moment too long, before humming loudly and tilting the candle upright once again. Sigma looked up, sighing.

But his newfound relief didn’t last long. Nikolai reached into his breast pocket, pulling out a cloth. He reached toward Sigma’s face with a smirk.

“Must you rush all of our fun?” *The white haired man sighed dramatically, exasperated. Or so it seemed.

“Wh-What are you-!“ The manager’s heart dropped to his stomach, and he frantically shook his head.

Nikolai quickly tied the cloth around Sigma’s head, successfully obscuring his vision. Sigma squirmed, trying to shake it off (albeit to no avail).

“We’re going to be playing a little game!” The clown exclaimed gleefully, jumping upright. Anxiety pooled in Sigmas gut, but he know he *had* to stay calm.

“..What…kind of game? Also, for your information, I do not consent to this!”

“Do you think that murder victims people consent to their killers?”

He had a point there. Sigma opened his mouth to speak, but ultimately couldn’t think of any smart remarks to use in retaliation.

“Now, let the games commence!”

There was still a slight tingle on Sigmas pink cheek. From where he was slapped. Although, Sigma was quite painfully unaware that the slap itself was certainly not going to be the only pain he was experiencing that day.

Nikolai’s hands found Sigmas belt.
