Another night one patrol. Joker was locked up in arkham once more. It was quiet and silent. Not a single crime in sight.
And yet, he hated everything about it.
Joker was there to cause mayhem anymore. It was nothing more than an eerie pit of silence.
But why did he feel this way?
Why should he care about a man who can caused nothing but pain. A man who only cared about chaos and destruction.
And yet, when he saw him explode those buildings...
He couldn't help but moan.
The way he laughed maniacally, his wide smile and eerie mouth. The jokes he would make in all of thier fights. It would terrify the masses.
And yet, he loved it
And when that alarm rang for him, he felt a sense of euphoria in his heart. Another day of cat and mouse and a game of the mind.
It was what he looked forward to the most. Far more than any rogue he'd ever fought.
All of this could only come to one conclusion, and that was-!
"!!"
No.
It can't be true. No way he could.
This has to he in his head.
He needed to head back to the cave. He cannot think in these conditions.
But even back at the bat cave his thoughts never went away.
He would watch the camera in arkham asylum from the computer, watching at Joker harrased all of the gaurds and Doctors while laughing at their frightened face.
'It's like I'm being held up by a bunch of puppies!'
He then laughed about loud, enjoying his game.
It even caused Bruce to laugh.
"Oh Joker, for some reason you always know how to make me laugh" he chuckled "it is why I-!"
Wait.
WHAT!?
He held onto his head, now realizing what he was doing. His breathing grew more and more erratic. His body trembled in fear.
"No...no way...no way I-!"He screamed "It can't be true!!"
He banged his fist to the counter, nearly craking it.
"NO WAY I WOULD...NO...NONONONONO!!!"
He turned off the computer and ran over to the shelf. He moved it to the side and unlocked the door behind it, he then opened it and went inside before locked the door again. Now completely lost in the darkness.
He screamed hysterically, bashing the floor widely until he couldn't no more. His screamed echoing the walls, never ending until he-!
...
There was silence.
He rose up from the floor, his expression unknown. He flipped the switch was the next to him. The lights flickering on.
This is Vicki Vale coming to you live at Gotham Central museum. The joker has just recently held a group of civilians hostage. Police are trying to make negotiations, but the onky thing he said to them was one simple thing.
"Bring the bat to me, and I will free them all, he's mine, and I will not have you interrupting our fun!"
Of course it has been proven that Batman would never be involve with him. After all, with the number of times he stopped him he wouldn't be with him right? Oh ridiculous! He's completely insane!
"But I never wanted it to end"Bruce said softly "Our game is what I looked forward to the most..."
He looked at the pictures of Joker and his escapades. His smile ever so wide and wicked.
"I loved everything about you, no matter how many times people scorned you I never did"
A smile formed on his face.
"And it was all because of you, that I finally found someone who gets me, who knows me, and loves me"
A small laugh echoed into the room.
"And you know what, the reason for all of this was because..."
His laughing grew even louder, more bolder, more...creepy
It wasn't until he saw the journal on the pestisal that he completely snapped
"IT WAS BECAUSE I LOVED YOU!!"
He completely snapped. His laughter growing louder and louder and louder and louder and louder and-!
"...So this is what I was feeling all this time"he then said"All for a lunatic-no...a man, a very handsome man"
He went over to the one of the photos, grabbing a marker from the drawer next to him. He began to write, as he giggled creepily with wide eyes and a smile similar to Joker's.
"You stole me heart, and now I can't hold it in any longer"he sajd eerily "I want you, I need you, I love you..."
He stopped writing. And what the word read was something he had heard for many years and forever more.
Darling
