Kel and Sunny lazed around the lake on the canoe, enjoying the peaceful silence.
"We should come here more often! It's super nice." Kel smiled, admiring the sun reflected on the lake. Sunny nodded. "Yeah, we should.."
"Hey, you wanna hang out with Basil and Aub–" He turned his head around to look at his boyfriend, before letting out a mortified scream. Sunny whipped his head around, alarmed.
A huge spider stood by Kel's side of the canoe, suddenly freezing once he screamed. Sunny saw it and immediately grabbed the ore, pulling them to shore with all his might. Kel remained frozen in place, absolutely terrified.
Reaching the shore, Kel immediately half-jumped, half-stumbled out, getting his shorts and socks wet with dirty water in the process.
Sunny got out more calmly, looking at the spider. "Oh my god." He deadpanned, in awe at the size. He looked back and forth frantically, eventually running towards some paper towels that he had placed on the picnic table beforehand.
He grabbed it in the towel, throwing it far into the woods. Kel was standing behind him, practically shaking.
Sunny laughed at the image. "Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." He sat down at the table, opening the basket they placed on it earlier to get lunch ready.
"I-I'm not as scared of spiders as Hero! That was a big fucking spider!" Kel argued, The other rolling his eyes in admittance. Sitting down, he ate his sandwich. "That was a huge spider. I don't even blame you." He looked at the direction he threw the spider in, then back at him.
Kel laughed nervously, still shaken up. His eyes trailed to the floor, in which he let out another scream.
"Seriously? Another one??" Sunny grabbed the paper towels again, but Kel shook his head. "My shoelaces were untied. False alarm." He chuckled sheepishly. Sunny practically cackled, cracking up. Kel soon joined his laughter.
After eating lunch, Sunny packed the basket up.
"I am NOT getting back in that canoe."
"And we will not return home if you don't."
"So be it!"
"Kel..." He sighed, laughing slightly. "Take your time."
Sunny got back in the canoe, but Kel just groaned and got back in, hands still shaky. "You checked it for bugs, right?" Sunny nodded. "Okay..."
He carefully got back in, looking out for bugs. He grabbed the ore, his hands still shaky.
Turns out a whole ass family of spiders was living in that canoe.
