Safe Space

Summary:

Ada Wong x Reader cozy fic

Just a soft lil fic of Ada coming to the reader after the events of RE 6, her safe space to crash and feel loved.

Work Text:

The soft sound of a key turning in the lock wakes you from sleep. You live alone, only one other person has the key to your place. You sit up quickly, the soft glow of the TV illuminates the movement of the front door opening. She steps in from the hallway, soft and quiet like the trained professional she is.

"Oh," she says gently. Her eyes meet yours, not expecting to see you there. The way her sleek, black hair falls ever so slightly in front of her face makes her look human for once. Ada is always so composed, perfect in her movements like she's a flawless goddess to whom you have the honor of being witness to.

"Hey," you say, giving a small wave. Inside, you're like an excited puppy who's owner just came home from work.

"I didn't think you would be awake," she pushes the door closed behind her, locking it. She steps into the blue light from the TV, the way it reflects off her hair and eyes makes you weak.

"I was asleep, but then I heard the door so I-"

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you up," She strolls over to the couch, sitting beside you. Her hand rests on your thigh, she squeezes it gently. You shake your head.

"Don't be, I'm happy you're here. It means you're safe," you give her a smile, hand moving to cover hers.

"You're too sweet, you know that? Letting someone like me be in your life," Her eyes glint with a hint of guilt behind them before she lets her head drop onto your shoulder. Her hair falling around her, you move some stands behind her ear. She looks tired, like the weight of the world is crushing her.

"Ada, do you want to take a bath?" You ask, softly. A question you always ask when she wanders back into your life like a stray cat. It comforts her, the one place she can be vulnerable. She nods her head against your shoulder. You stand up, offering your hand to her which she gladly takes. You lead her to your bathroom, your building is old but the rent is pretty cheap and the landlord is a kind older woman. The claw foot tub sitting near the window that you keep plants on makes Ada smile. Her comfort place. Home. You turn on the tub, letting the water fill it. Ada gives a heavy sigh. You can see it on her face how tired she is, and something is bothering her. Lighting candles to illuminate the space, you watch her.

She begins to remove her clothing, her skin is beautiful and soft, you admire the view. The way her muscles move under her skin, her body is toned from years of hard training and dangerous work. She truly is stunning and alluring, her beauty has always captured your attention.

"Admiring the view?" She softly laughs, your face turns beet red. "Oh come now, it's ok," she cups your face gently and tilts your head to meet hers. She presses a soft kiss to your lips and your blush deepens. She laughs.

"I like this view myself," Her fingers gently stroke your cheeks, she pulls you in for another kiss. It's dominating, yet loving. Gently she pulls off your t-shirt, leaving your top half exposed. You pull off your sweats and panties. She leads you to the tub and you both climb in. Immediately she rests herself against your chest, her soft hair tickles your bare flesh. You wrap your arms under her chest and hold her close.

"You ok, Ada?"

"Just a rough day love," She tilts her head further back so her eyes meet yours. "I watched myself die today," You scrunch up your nose in confusion.

"Like….metaphorically?" She gives a soft, breathy chuckle.

"I wish,"

"Your life is strange Ada,"

"You don't even know the half of it,"

"I wish I did," you murmur into her hair, holding her close. These moments are rare, usually she's so exhausted she just crawls into bed with you. The times where you can relax together are treasures, sitting in a warm bath in your bathroom, candles glowing softly against the reflective tile.

You felt honored to be part of her life, even if it was a secret. Your place was her safe house away from the chaos of her life, or what little details she allows you to know about it. She always says it's dangerous to know the dirty details, but you would do anything for her. In this space, this small speck of time in the flowing sands, she's allowed to be vulnerable.

She tilts her head back, long lashes blinking up at you as she rests her head on your breasts.

"You truly are an angel my dear, I don't deserve you,"

"You always say that," you laugh, kissing her forehead.

"I saw him again," she whispers.

"Him, or HIM?"

"H I M," she spells out.

"Oh? How was he?" She smirks.

"He looked good, age has been kind to him. He was excited to see me,"

"Well if he's another Ada fan then I would be too. I mean, I was when you walked in the door," you gently laugh. "So….were you excited to see him?" She hums in reply.

You knew about her other person, the other one who holds her heart. It always made you feel strange, you want to be the only one who gets to love her. She's told you their history, so you can't exactly be upset about it either.

"You've gone quiet," Ada says, her wet hand slipping out of the water to touch your face. You give a soft smile back at her.

"Just lost in my head," She sits up and turns around in the water, so she's facing you. She pulls you forward into a long, drawn out kiss. Her lips are soft, they taste like cherries.

"Come back to me, tell me what I've missed," she says as she pulls away. You tell her about your boring work, nothing is as exciting as her adventures. You tell her about your crappy boss, how you want to stuff his head in a toilet. She laughs, her laugh is so beautiful.

"Are you going to be around for a while?" You ask, hoping she will say yes.

"Mmm, I have a little time before another job begins. Why?"

"Because I like when you're here, I like having you around. When you steal my clothes, borrow my makeup, curl up on my couch reading with me," your cheeks are dusting with a pink glow saying this. She places a hand on your knee.

"I like it too, you give me something to come back to," Your eyes light up.

"That….means a lot Ada, I like being your safe space," She cups your cheeks, her thumb rubbing it.

"You have the most beautiful eyes in the world, you're a lot like him," she says.

"Maybe we should meet, start a fan club. An Ada Wong fan club,"

"I'm scared you two will fall for each other, then I lose you my precious girl,"

"Or we can be the three-way power couple who is so obsessed with you," You laugh, she laughs.

"Unfortunately I don't like to share," she replies, kissing you again. "You're too beautiful my dear, I don't want to share you with him," Your cheeks are on fire, she laughs. "And so cute when you're flustered," She stands up, her toned body looking heavenly in the light of the candles. You watch the water run down her, entranced by the way it slips down her curves. Her eyes flicker to yours, she extends a graceful hand to you.

"This has been nice, relaxing, but I'm ready to move on, come with me?" You slip your hand into hers and she pulls you up.

"I'm assuming you need to borrow something?" You ask, tilting your head to the side.

"You know our little parties are better when I'm wearing your clothes," she smirks, handing you a towel from the rack. She slides her own around her body, wrapping herself in the soft, fluffy fabric. You drain the tub, stepping out onto the bath mat to dry your feet.

"Mind if I shower quickly, doll?"

"Go ahead, I'll bring you some fresh clothes,"

"You are truly an angel," she kisses your cheek and you slip out of the bathroom into your bedroom. The shower turns on while you find something for her to wear. Putting the clothes on the counter, you pull on your own fresh pair of panties, your sweats, and tank top. Settling into bed, you hear the shower turn off. You always allow her to help herself to things in your apartment. Everything is hers to use, skin care, your clothing, because you love her.

She strolls out some time later, wearing your t-shirt and panties, she slides into the bed next to you, pulling you close. She needs comfort tonight.

"Thank you for always being around for me," she mutters into your hair.

"Don't thank me, it's an honor," She lets out a breathy snort.

"You think too highly of me,"

"And you're too hard on yourself,"

"What if I'm afraid to tell you what I've done…what I continue to do? You would run and hate me,"

"I think you underestimate how obsessed I am with you. Besides, HE knows you more than I do and HE still comes back, right?" She laughs, half asleep.

"I suppose, but he doesn't have me in his bed right now,"

"No, so I guess I win this battle," Your arm wraps around her, pulling her into your body. She loosely drapes an arm over your torso. You can feel her breathing slow as she falls asleep, cuddling into your body. You press a kiss into her hair, relishing the familiar smell of your shampoo as you fall into your own sleep.
