Work Text:

(Post Char Death, but before Pyramid)

As the group were making their way to one of the three Pyramids, to meet Achronix, Fenris had an idea. Not how to beat Achronix, but to mess with Icarus. The blue, monocle-wearing Yuan-Ti was inside Fenris's magical ring thingy, unable to exit unless Fenris wanted him to leave. Smirking, he told the group he was gonna go into the ring, and was about to ask Ironclad to hold it, but decided against it. Fenris didn't want to reappear in Ironclad's stomach. So he turned to Haku, and told her to hold onto it while he was inside. At first, some of the group argued for him not to go in, and the strange voice in their heads didn't like that idea either, but Fenris shrugged and headed in anyway.

Once in the ring, he saw Icarus in the room, fidgeting with his snake-tail. Icarus spotted Fenris and paled slightly. "Are you at the pyramid? D-d-d-d-do you need anything?" The stutter made it obviously clear that the Yuan-Ti was nervous. 'What if they decided they don't need me anymore?' Icarus thought, trembling slightly. He witnessed the brutal death of his best, and only friend, Charr. He didn't wanna meet the same fate as his friend. Smirking, Fenris walked toward Icarus. "Well," Fenris said, growing closer to Icarus. "I wanna see what you're willing to do to stay alive." Icarus blinked at the question. "w-well, obviously if I didn't want to be alive I wouldn't be in here." Icarus replied with a note of annoyance, but quickly added, "Y-Yeah, I'd be willing to do anything to s-stay alive." "Anything?" Fenris asked, raising a brow. "Y-Yeah, just about anything.. why do you ask?" Icarus inquired nervously, getting a bad feeling. "Hmm... about that..."

Meanwhile, with the others, Haku felt the ring trembling slightly in her pocket. She took it out and looked at it suspiciously. The ring continued to tremble and shake, until they got close to the pyramid. That was when an extremely satisfyed-looking Fenris appeared from the ring. Taking it from Haku, he thanked the bard, and continued on as if nothing happened.

It was later noticed, when they let Icarus out of the ring, that he had a hard time slithering around..................
