Chapter Text

June 2007.

A casual day in the small home of Gorillaz. Murdoc sleeps until 11am, Russel listens to the radio - the only source of information for them - and Noodle on her morning walk checking if it's clear and no zombies are walking around.

They live in a small wooden cottage in snowy mountains. The house sits in the middle of snow plains, forest surrounding the field. Inside the cottage is rather cozy than raw.

 Open eyes and sigh.

"Fuckin' hell.." - Murdoc said to himself in a sleepy voice. He just woke up. God, he hates waking up at 11am. It's too 'soon' in his opinion. He sat up and rubbed his face, then he stood up and walked towards the dresser. It's open - some clothes inside but most of them are laying down on the floor. Murdoc grabbed the first shirt he found and some old - probably dirty - jeans. He put them on and walked out of his bedroom straight to the kitchen. The black haired man opened the counter but no food to be found. He sighed and walked away.

Meanwhile in the living room is Russel sitting and listening to the radio."We got a new report about a mysterious figure with blue hair and all-black eyes. The victims of the incident say that it just stood there and watched them. They also say that when they pulled out their rifle and were about to shoot, the figure disappeared. The victims say that when they approached the place where the figure had previously stood, they did not find any footprints in the snow. 'It's like this thing disappeared into thin air!' - One of the victims says. That's all about the black-eyed figure, now let's move on to the weather." - A radio journalist explains.

"One.. two.. three." And shoot. The deer is dead. Noodle walked up to it and smiled to herself proudly. She grabbed the deer's legs and she slung it over her back."Finally.. some proper dinner." Noodle chuckled and started walking in the direction of their house. She made a disgusted face when the smell of carrion reached her."Ew.. fuck, was it dead before I shot it..?" She asked herself and put the dead deer back onto the snow. She inspected it and found a bite mark. Noodle frowned at it."No, no, no, no.." She rubbed her face and kicked the dead deer. "Fuck! Why?! Why does it has to be infected too?! I'm fucking starving! Russel and Murdoc are starting as well! We have no fucking food!" Her voice cracked and she covered her face. Noodle started sobbing. The poor girl had a breakdown. "Why.. why.." She sobbed. Crunch. She immediately lowered her hands and lifted up her face to see where the noise came from. She grabbed her rifle and looked around. Nothing. She sighed and started walking away. She stopped when she heard the same noise again. Someone or something is walking over there in the snow. She knew it. Noodle lifted up her rifle again and she saw another deer. She immediately pointed her rifle at it and pulled the trigger. Phew, thank God that it has a silencer otherwise she would bring a horde of zombies here. Noodle walked quickly over to the now dead animal and immediately inspected it. She sighed deeply in relief when she found no bite marks. It's clear - not infected. She giggled to herself and looked up at the sky. A few treetops are visible since she's in the forest. She looked down at the deer and lifted it up."Oh my.. it's so heavy.." She whispered to herself and started walking towards their house. A few minutes later she dropped the deer and panted heavily."I can't. It's too heavy." She sighed and looked down at the dead deer."Okay.. Noodle.. you'll do it! You are a strong woman." She motivated herself and lifted the deer up again."You killed it and you're gonna deliver it to Russel anddd Murdoc." She continued walking."C'mon, it's not that-" She froze when she saw someone standing far behind a tree. She slowly put the deer onto the ground trying to not make any sound. Then she pulled out her rifle. 'Damnit..' She thought to herself when she saw that it had no bullets inside. She slowly pulled out a magazine with cartridges and quickly loaded the rifle. The figure heard it and turned out to be a zombie. It groaned loudly and started running toward her. Noodle quickly pointed her weapon at it and shot the zombie. It falled down with a crunch due to the contact with the cold snow. Noodle looked around to see if any other zombies were waiting there for her. No hostile creatures in sight. She exhaled with relief. "That was close.." She whispered to herself. Noodle lifted up the deer again and continued walking home.

Noodle got back home and was immediately greeted by Russel.

"Where have you been?" Russel asked her.

"I was just hunting. Look what I got!" She dropped the deer on the floor and smiled to herself proudly.

"Good job." He smiled to her softly.

Murdoc walked in and smirked at the view on the floor.

"Well, well, what do I see here? Beautiful." He crouched beside the deer and looked at it with a proud smile. Murdoc looked up at Noodle and Russel and stood up.

"Good job, Noodle." He said to her.

"Thanks." She smiled and lifted up the dead deer. "I'm going with this to the kitchen. Russel, help me with it." And so they both went to the kitchen with the deer. Murdoc decided to go in there with them and observe.
