Work Text:

“Eijirou.”
Katsuki's words slurred on account of his drunken state, but his boyfriend by now knew them well. The pair, in their rave-ready young adulthood stamina level, had the bright idea to go bar hopping on a Sunday night before Katsuki went out of town. Unusual for him, but who was Eijirou to not indulge his adorable boyfriend?

“Hm?”

Katsuki seemed frustrated, eyes squeezed closed. He wrung his hands, a nervous habit Eijirou had seen him practice since the day they met. An almost unnoticeable gesture, the testy blonde had shown his nervousness in a small glimmer in that fleeting moment. Katsuki shifted his eyes and grabbed Eijirou’s hand.

“Let's go outside.”

The blonde was lucky his boyfriend hadn't drunk, perfectly of clear head. Katsuki led him out to a nearby rooftop, that of an old movie theater. Pop Rocks or something? The blonde gazed at his lover, a look of intent clearing his gaze.

“Eijirou, I love you a lot.”
“I love you too.”

Katsuki grasped one of Eijirou's hands, pulling something out of his pocket.

“I'm going out of town, and I know this probably isn't the best time, but…”, he trailed off before pulling out a small white object.

“Eijirou Kirishima, will you marry me?”

A moment of silence passed, before Eijirou said possibly the stupidest response to the question.

“Is that ring paper?”

Again, still drunk, Katsuki looked down at the paper ring he was holding. He muttered a “damn it…” as he pulled out silver ring. Simple , but effective for their job with the couple's initials engraved. Eijirou took the ring while tearing up, placing it on his own finger. The couple embraced, that of a schoolboy hugging his first love, full of pure love.

“Yes.”
