With the Earth’s population at an all-time high, it’s time for every human to prove their worth. After the age of 16, humans must take a test every year. If they fail the test, they are killed or sent to work camps and worked to death. One teenager score’s incredibly high on the test making them the ‘chosen one’. Eden Was now sitting in an empty room waiting for some elites.
After she had finished the test, she waited in the line to hear her score, lightly chatting with her best friend lily positive they passed. It was now edens turn she told the officer her name the soldier repeated her name to her and said 100%. The solider looked shocked and pushed a large blue button behind her. Soon Eden was taken away from the lines. As Eden was being loaded into a car, she saw lily getting her score her face fell and, she was dragged away crying to a train, to the work camps. Lily looked over at Eden as she was being escorted to the train, lily gave Eden an air kiss and Eden did the same back. Lily was pushed into the train and the doors were closed shut. A tear rolled down edens cheek as the car pulled away.
now back to the moment the elites started filing in, she pulled her attention forward. When they were all in the same supreme leader said Eden 100% hmm our first 100 in history congrats. Thanks, she said bitterly. Why are you sad one of the elite asked. Eden replied that she saw her best friend get dragged to a work camp. Ahh they all responded, the supreme said Well its just a friend get over it, anyway Eden you’ll now be sent to higher education to become a solider and join our ranks. That was 6 years ago, and she had been a soldier for 1 year. she still wears the locket lily gave her all those years ago.
Today she’s going on a special mission as she is one of the top soldiers, seeking after the infamous fugitive Lazarus, and going under cover in the streets to find her. She walked straight to the commander’s office that morning, when she arrived for her mission. The commander was know telling her the details, you’ll be out in the field for two weeks in the mineral sectors to find and execute the fugitive. You’ll also have a hidden mic for logging the findings and progress every night. Go to the tec ward to pick up your gear, good luck agent. Thanks, and ill be find commander, she saluted as she walks away.
In the tec ward, good morning maria, as she jumped onto a nearby table. Moring Eden, time for you to get gear I presume, how long will you be out? The commander said two weeks. Two weeks is a long time to be on the streets. Yea, be okay though. I know you will be, anyway hears your mic it fits in your cheek, and you click your tongue to activate it. Got it she said as she attempted to fit it in her mouth. Maria shuffled off to a corner and pulled out some clothes. Here are your clothes you’ll be wearing. Maria noticed Eden having trouble with the mic, do you want me to help? yes please, as she wiped the mic on her shirt and handed it to maria. Open, and she carefully placed the mic in her mouth. Thanks, she brushes her tongue over it feels weird. Well go get dressed and I’ll prep the rest of your supplies. After she had gotten dressed maria gave her a backpack with food water and protection inside. Maria giggled slightly at the clothes and stated, haven’t seen you were something like that since your first year of school. Eden laughed yea that’s when I lived with my family, her face fell my family, but there all gone now so it doesn’t matter and I’m more successful without them. Maria said Well you better get going for your mission. Yea bye maria and don’t worry I’ll be fine. She left the ward with a heavy heart she knew she could be killed on her mission, but it was for the good of the state. She was then driven to the edge of the metal sectors and told that it would be suspicious if she was dropped off directly in the mineral sectors.
As she walked around as the sun was rising on her first day on the mission. Nothing really happened in the first two days as she wandered around the run-down mineral sectors, she noticed that a lot of people were just sitting around looking distraught. She didn’t remember it being this bad when she was a teenager. On her second night she clicked on her mic and said no intel yet then clicked it off. As she sat in the lonely dirty ally way, drifting off to sleep.
As she awoke the next morning to a loud commotion, she immediately shot up and went to investigate. As she rounded the corner, she saw a big crowd huddled around shouting and screaming. as she pushed her way to the front, she heard a lady shout who will be my next opponent. When she got to the front of the crowd there was a lady that was well built and had lots of scares surrounded by the crowd. OH, it’s a brawl fight, as she went to turn to leave, she was pushed into the circle. Now in the middle of the circle she would now be forced to fight.
She sized up her opponent, not too bad for the streets but she had been trained for years to handle people like her. Her opponent laughed you change me scrawny girl. Eden tried to look sacred so the girl would be comfortable with a win, but little did she know. The fight started and Eden was successfully dogging her attacks. Then her opponent pulled out a knife and she did it so fast that Eden couldn’t react, and the girl plunged it into her thigh. She gasped as blood trickled from the wound and Eden was done playing nice and swept her feet and put a blow to her head and she passed out. Eden was glad it was over and began to leave, as she was three big dudes came and told her that she couldn’t leave until she lost a match. As she pushed to leave, they started being aggressive. Then she a loud boom and it was hard to see she took the chance and ran a girl came up beside her and said Hey there, I set off the smoke burst for you. Thanks a lot, but why did you help me? Um you just look like you could help me, and you looked like you needed help. Well come up here so those people won’t come after you.
They went up in an abandoned building and sat on a balcony and watched the chaos ensue. Soon everyone left because someone said soldiers are coming. After everyone disbanded Eden decided to take a closer loo at the person who saved her. She had short fluffy black hair, and her eyes her a sage green that made her heart skip a beat man those eyes she thought daydreaming about her early best friend. She pulled back to reality and noticed a chain around her neck and taking under her shirt she wondered what the pendent looked like. She had dirt smears on her face, she was also wearing a short sleave and noticed lots of freckles and moles scattered across her. He checks had a pink hew, she had lots of feckless, long black eyelashes. She was stunningly beautiful. The girl now looked straight at her, and she panicked slightly. The girl said taking in my amazingness I presume. Eden blushed wildly at that statement; she said no as she looked away embarrassedly. Right, of course said the girl giggling. Eden looked back at her giggling, man she was so pretty she reminded her of someone, but she didn’t know who.
After that the climbed down from the building. and the girl said they would try to trade for some medical supplies to help her wound. Man, she was nice too Eden couldn’t help but blush at the kindness the stranger she just meets showed her. The girl had gone up and offered to clean the store for some medical supplies. After they had cleaned all afternoon and evening at and 6 the storekeeper gave them medical supplies such as: pain med, bandages, disinfectant, and healing ointment. They then went back to the building. as the sun was setting and Eden pulled out the medical stuff to help herself. She prepared to pull out the knife and immediately place pressure and badges on it. The girl stared at her and said I can help you I know how to do stuff like that pretty well after all I did train to be a doctor for years before I ended up here. Eden said OKAY then, and the girl walked over to her. Then girl kept talking to Eden as she helped her, she said Well you can call me l, I have been out here for ages. Haven’t seen my family in ages either it to risky for me too do she frowned. Well I’m all done fixing you up. Thanks, you can call me ed by the way. Eden thought man medical just like lily it was her dream to be a doctor she studied to be one scene she was 8. Then Eden slowly slipped off to sleep dreaming about her best friend.
