Chapter Text
„I don't know, isn't it a bit unfair that I'm the only one who has to change her appearance? After all, all you have to do is take this thing off your head and you'll look different.“ Ava asks, her hands widly swinging around „So not that I'm complaining, I like seeing you without that hairpiece, you look great, but still“ she adds and sits down at the table thats covered with their breakfast.
„I already told you, ava“ Beatrice speaks up, still standing in front of the Table, setting down the teapot „If you want to, I can join you, maybe get something done with my hair too, just ask and I‘ll do it“ she says without hesitation, her eyes soft.
„No, you don‘t have to, it‘s just that…“ ava lets out an shaky breath „I never really had someone cut my hair, you know, because no one ever really cared in the orphanage. I feel like I‘m letting go of something in my past“ her eyes on the ground while she continues „which ist good, even great, but it‘s still a hard thing to do you know?“
Beatrice takes a step forward and reaches out to lightly swipe away the single tear that escaped avas watery eyes, slowly running down her cheek. Ava finally looks up again to see the sad smile on beatrices face… her face thats so, so close right now. She takes an deep breath, inhaling the comforting scent of beatrice freshly washed shirt, already calming down again „Oh that… I didn‘t think about that, I‘m sorry ava“ The nun says, taking avas hand in her own „But I think it‘s good to let go of that, leaving behind what hurt you the most. You have me-“Beatrice stops before she can finish the scentence „I mean, you have us now, for now and forever, try to think about it that way. You may loose part of your hair, and the memories that go with it, but you will never loose us and the new memories we are building with you.“
There it is, the most heartwarming, butterfly giving smile Beatrice has ever seen, and oh, she never wants to see anything else ever again „You are the best, bea“ ava says, watching the other girl sit down herself „What would I do without you?!“ ava laughs „Well I would probeply be dead by now, without beeing guided and guarded by my free wheeling, secret ass kicking nun“
„Ava, language!“ the so-called ass kicker reminds the younger girl, hiding her own smile by taking a sip of her Tea.
„sorry“ Ava smirks „it‘s a bad habit“ she chuckles and reaches for the bread. „are you sure that I should stay home? I really could join you“ Beatrice offers „If you worry about my hair, I would even come with you to sit beside you, If needed hold your hand“ she adds, her cheeks already red, but so are avas.
„Well, thats a nice offer, and I would be glad to do that too“ ava winks „but I have to do that alone, also I don‘t want you to see me crying like a baby“
„You know I wouldn‘t mi-“
„I know, bea, and I‘m very thankful for that, but still.“ ava reaches out to grab beatrices hand to stop her „please, lets just finish breakfast so we can go on with our day, yes?“ she watches those dark brown eyes going from worried to soft again, loosing herself for a moment, watching beatrice nod her head in response „could you get me the butter right there?“
„of course ava“ she passes it over „there you go“
